Abstract

The teaching and learning process often does not run smoothly, which is influenced by several factors, one of which is caused by the use of the learning model planned by the teacher that does not support students to be able to improve their ability to think creatively independently. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the use of discovery learning models on the creative thinking ability of students of class XI MIPA in SMA Negeri 1 Sekampung. This research uses quantitative research. The research to be carried out is a quasi-experimental study with a group pretest-posttest design. Based on the results of the hypothesis test analysis, regarding the effect of discovery learning models on the creative thinking ability of students of class XI MIPA in SMA Negeri 1 Sekampung it can be concluded that the discovery learning models influence the student's creative thinking abilities, evidenced by the relevant hypothesis test result namely t-test that thit (8,17) is greater than tdaf (1,67) in the 0,05 significance level.

Abstract

The development of this module is motivated by several difficulties experienced by students in the learning process. Some of these difficulties are that students do not understand the teaching materials that used, besides that, students are also less interested in teaching materials that used in the learning process. The purpose of this research is to produce products in the form of modules that are suitable for use, and overcome the difficulties experienced by students. The type of development research that used in this study is the 4D model suggested by Thiagarajan, Semmel and Semmel (1974). The 4D model has 4 stages namely Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate, but this research is only carried out until the Develop stage. This developed product has been validated by experts for 2 times. The results obtained from the first stage of validation were design and language experts got the score of 81% with the criteria of "Good", material experts were 81.84% with the criteria of "Good". The results of the second stage of validation are design and language experts and got the result of 88.42% with the criteria "Very Good", 85.63% point of material experts with the criteria "Very Good" and small group trials obtained results of 83.83% with the criteria "Good". Based on the results of expert validation and small group trials, the product in the form of modules developed has been appropriate for students to use without revision.

Abstract

This development research aims to produce a product in the form of Development of Student Activity Sheets based on Problem Based Learning Accompanied by High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) on critical thinking skills in learning biology of reproductive system material that is appropriate for students to use. This research development uses qualitative research methods with the Research & Development model suggested by Borg & Gall by using 6 stages out of 10 stages, namely Collecting of research and information, Planning, Developing a preliminary form of product, Preliminary field testing, Operational field testing, Operational product revision, Main field testing, Main product revision, Final product revision, and Dissemination and implementation. The results of the development carried out from the validation of design experts obtained a percentage of 90%, from the validation of material experts obtained a percentage of 81.81%, and validation by biology subject teachers is 80%. The average value obtained from the results of expert validation is 83.93% with the description "Good". Based on the results of expert validation obtained it can be concluded that the developed Development of Student Activity Sheets is suitable for use as teaching materials for students in schools.

Abstract

The combination of learning models and media aims to make learning goals easily achieved by students. The TGT (Teams Games Tournament) model can involve students actively in learning, students are required to work in groups, create an atmosphere of learning into a game and there is competition which will be given an award or reward. Modified dominoes can make it easier for students to understand the concepts of the material being studied, as well as an attractive display of modification dominoes can make students not get bored in the learning process. The aims of this study was to determine the effect of the TGT (Teams Games Tournament) cooperative learning model accompanied by modified domino cards on learning outcomes in the biology scope material of Grade X of SMA 1 Kibang.This type of research is a quasi experiment with Posttest only Control Group Design. The place of research is SMA 1 Kibang. The population in this study were all students of class X with a total of 85 students consisting of 3 classes. The sample used in this study was two classes namely X MIPA 1 and X MIPA 2. X MIPA 1 became a control class consisting of 29 students, while class X MIPA 2 became an experimental class consisting of 28 students. This research was conducted on July 19 - August 7, 2019. The prerequisite test in this study used the normality and homogeneity test. Hypothesis testing using t test. Based on the results of hypothesis testing, it was found that the two average similarity test was obtained and the two average difference test was obtained. The similarity test results of two averages prove that there are differences in the average learning outcomes in the experimental class and the control class. Test results of the difference between the two averages prove that the average learning outcomes in the experimental class are higher than in the control class. The application of the TGT (Teams Games Tournament) model accompanied by modification dominoes has an effect on learning outcomes in the scope of biology material for grade X students of SMA Negeri 1 Kibang.

Abstract

This development aims to produce a Problem-Based Instruction-based Student worksheet product that is suitable for use as a learning resource for class XI SMA. The development of the Student worksheet using 4-D procedures and models suggested by Thiagrajan, Semmel, and Semmel consists of 4 development stages, namely: Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. The stages carried out in this research are only up to the third stage, namely Develop, this is due to time and cost limitations. The process for producing this Student worksheet begins with the Student worksheet validation stage by 2 material experts and 2 design experts. This Student worksheet was also tested at school to see user responses, namely the biology subject teacher and 10 students of SMA N 1 Purbolinggo. The results of this analysis are to determine the feasibility level of developing a Student worksheet as a biology teaching material based on the evaluation of the results of the Student worksheet design validation which obtained a percentage value of 89%, the evaluation of the results of material validation in the Student worksheet obtained a percentage value of 97%, the assessment of the results of the validation of the biology subject teacher obtained a percentage value of 88. % and the student response test obtained a percentage value of 94%. Based on the data from the test results of experts, teachers, and students, an average total score of 92% or in the criteria of "Very Good" is obtained, and it can be concluded that the developed problem-based biology Student worksheet has met the minimum eligibility requirements. 75%, so it is feasible to be used as a reference for biology teaching materials in the coordination system material.

Abstract

The learning process works because there is interaction and communication between individuals and their environment. Learning can be done alone or with the help of others like parents and teachers, and can also be done with the help of the media. The learning process that takes place in schools today has used a lot of media books that are more varied. Based on interviews conducted with Grade XI teachers of MAN 1 Metro, regarding the learning media used. Grade XI teachers conveyed that the problem in learning in the class is that there are still students who have low interest in reading so there are still students who score below the minimum completeness criteria (KKM) which is 76. The problems found in the MAN 1 Metro school are a lack of student interest in reading and low learning motivation. Media supporting books used in the learning process are also still not attracting students' interest in reading. Then it can be formulated the purpose of development is to produce products in the form of comics as a medium of learning biology on the class XI MAN 1 Metro respiration system material that is feasible to use and can increase student motivation and motivation. The development of comics with this respiration system material is expected to be able to support learning motivation and increase students' memory of the respiration system material. In addition, comics can also be used as learning media that can support and facilitate teachers in delivering respiration system material in the teaching and learning process. The method used to develop comics is the Research and Development (R&D) method The development model used is the 4-D model, there are four stages namely Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. The research data was obtained from the results of expert validation and small-group trials. Based on the data collection, the results obtained in the expert material validation obtained a percentage value of 98% with the criteria "Very Good". The validation of learning media experts obtained a percentage value of 94% with the criteria of "Very Good". The validation of comic media experts obtained a percentage value of 96% with the criteria of "Very Good". In small group trials, the percentage value was 84.8%. With "Good" criteria. Based on these criteria stated that the product developed is suitable for use in the field.

Abstract

This research aims to develop innovative learning media in the form of web-based comics on biological material, especially about viruses. The background to this research is the low reading interest and learning motivation of students towards conventional biology textbooks. This research uses a 4D model (Analysis, Design, Development, Desiminate). The research participants consisted of class X students at one of the MA Muhammadiyah Purbolinggo. Data was collected through questionnaires, observations and interviews, and analyzed using quantitative and qualitative descriptive techniques. This testing is carried out by validating the media with material, language, design and student expert validators. The research results show that web-based comics have test scores above 80%, which means they are very suitable to be used as learning media so they are effective in increasing students' reading interest, learning motivation and understanding of biology material.

Abstract

The aims of this research are; to determine the effect of the concentration of red dragon fruit peel extract on the results of the yield and organoleptic tests, to determine the best concentration on the results of the yield and organoleptic tests and for the preparation of teaching materials (LKPD) on biotechnology materials. The organoleptic test aims to determine the level of preference for VCO based on 3 parameters namely: 1) Color, 2) Taste, 3) Texture This research is an experimental research with a RAL research design with 5 treatments (P1; 15%, P2; 20%, P3; 25%, P4; 30%, P5; 35%) and 6 replications. The data analysis technique in this research uses ANOVA 1. Based on the analysis results; The concentration of dragon fruit peel extract influences the yield results and organoleptic tests. The P1 concentration produced the highest yield and the best organoleptic tests on 3 parameters (color, taste, texture). The source of teaching materials (LKPD) for biotechnology material has been validated by design experts and material experts, with a design aspect percentage of 95.27% and a material aspect percentage of 98.43% with the category very valid and suitable for use.

Abstract

The objectives of this study were 1) To determine the effect of variations in the composition of the use of processed fish waste feed on bird growth (Coturnix coturnix japonica), 2) To determine the variation of feed composition that gives the best effect on the growth of quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica) 3) To determine the results of this study worthy of being used as a Biology learning resource in the form of student activity sheets (LKPD). This type of research is experimental research using a completely randomized design (RAL). In this study using 1 dick 3 treatments namely, P0 (50% centrate feed & 50% bran feed), P1 (Feed 10% fishmeal, 45% bran & 45% Concentrate), P2 (Feed 20% fishmeal + 40% bran & 40% Concentrate), and P3 (Feed 30% fishmeal + 35% bran & 35% Concentrate) each treatment was given 4 replicates. The parameter observed was quail weight gain (grams). Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that variations in the composition of processed fish waste feed affect the growth of quails and the second treatment gives the best effect. The results of this study can be used as a biology learning resource with high school class XII growth and development material in the form of LKPD, data obtained from expert validation, with an average material validation score of 92.85%, design validation 93.75%.

Abstract

This study aimed to (1) examine the differences in growth and yield of edamame soybeans (Glycine max (L.) Merrill) under varying vermiwash dosages, (2) identify the dosage that produces the best growth and yield, and (3) evaluate the feasibility of developing a Student Worksheet (LKPD) as a biology learning resource. The research employed an experimental method using a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with four treatments: P1 (100 mL vermiwash), P2 (300 mL), P3 (500 mL), and P4 (700 mL), each replicated five times. Observed parameters included plant height (cm), number of leaves, and fresh weight of edamame soybeans (g). Based on the analysis test, the result Fhit>Fdaf indicates that the application of different vermiwash doses in each treatment gives different results on the growth and production of edamame soybeans. The BNJ follow-up test and Dunn's Post Hoc test show that the best growth and production of edamame soybeans is in treatment 4 (700 mL of vermiwash). The results of this study can be used as a biology learning resource on conventional biotechnology material for high school/Islamic high school Grade X in the form of a Student Worksheet, with data obtained from expert validation, showing an average material validation score of 88.57% and a design validation score of 90%.
