Abstract

This study aims to examine the legal review of Sundanese local wisdom, specifically the concept of Sandekala traditionally practiced by West Java community. The analysis evaluated the effect of government policies on the implementation of local wisdom values in the context of education, technology, and restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic, with particular attention to the role in fostering environmental awareness post-pandemic. Moreover, this study examined how these policies complement or deviate from the legal principles underlying local wisdom and environmental sustainability. An analytical method was used to review legal journals and online discussions, investigating how shifts in the understanding and application of local wisdom values have occurred in response to government measures. Furthermore, there are also big myths about these values that cause problems for keeping local wisdom true and useful. The results showed the importance of matching government policies with local values, including Sandekala, as a form of customary law that remains relevant, and ensuring the continuity of inclusive cultural and legal practices while protecting the environment in the post-pandemic context. This study provides valuable insights into how policies can enhance local wisdom and ensure compliance with relevant legal frameworks. In conclusion, keeping local wisdom is not just culture but also part of sustainable and inclusive law in Indonesia. Local wisdom should be kept and studied using science and technology.

Abstract

The digital revolution has reshaped education worldwide, and early childhood education (ECE) is no exception, requiring institutions to integrate technology into management and leadership while maintaining play-based and developmentally appropriate practices. This study investigated the effects of tech-supported strategic management (TSM), digital leadership (DL), and play-based interactive learning (PBIL) on quality improvement (QI) in ECE, considering screen-time governance (STG) as a moderator and teacher digital preparedness for planning (TDPP) as a mediator. A quantitative multilevel survey was conducted with 290 principals and teachers from Indonesia and Malaysia. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using multiple regression with SPSS, including moderation, mediation, and predictive modeling. Results showed that TSM, DL, and PBIL significantly influenced QI, with PBIL emerging as the strongest predictor. STG strengthened the effects of TSM, DL, and PBIL on QI, while TDPP mediated the relationship between these variables and QI. Predictive analysis further revealed that increasing TSM, DL, and PBIL simultaneously enhanced QI, whereas a decline in these variables led to a reduction in quality. These findings emphasize that technology in ECE should act as an enabler of management and leadership rather than as the primary medium for children’s learning. Theoretically, the study extends integrative models of digital management, digital leadership, and play-based pedagogy within ECE. Practically, it offers guidance for policymakers, school leaders, and teachers in designing quality improvement strategies that are digitally supported yet age-appropriate, highlighting play, interaction, and strict governance of screen time.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of dialogical leadership in the management of educational institutions at Pesantren Bina Insan Mulia, Cirebon, through the lens of Paulo Freire’s theoretical perspective. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis. Thematic analysis was applied to identify patterns and meanings from participants’ experiences. The findings reveal two major insights: first, dialogical leadership fosters managerial and curricular transformation that integrates pesantren traditions with modern competencies; second, it strengthens the pesantren’s role in developing students’ competencies according to their talents and aspirations while enhancing its contributions to the surrounding community. This research highlights that dialogical leadership plays a pivotal role in shaping a humanistic, participatory, and transformative educational model, demonstrating that pesantren can guide students authentically toward achieving their aspirations in line with their individual potentials.

Abstract

The phenomenon of online game addiction among youth has emerged as a critical concern in today’s digital society, significantly influencing social interaction and educational outcomes. This study aims to examine the psychological and sociological effects of excessive online gaming through a systematic literature review. Data were collected from 32 scholarly articles and undergraduate theses published between 2013 and 2025, and analyzed to identify recurring behavioral and academic patterns. The findings indicate that approximately 70% of the reviewed studies reported a decline in face-to-face communication, emotional sensitivity, and empathy among young gamers. Moreover, 65% of the sources highlighted academic disengagement, decreased motivation to learn, and lower performance levels. Prolonged gaming also correlates with heightened stress, anxiety, and irregular sleep cycles, demonstrating the multifaceted nature of this behavioral issue. These impacts extend beyond the individual, disrupting family relations and school environments. The study recommends integrated interventions involving parental monitoring, educator participation, and balanced digital policy implementation to foster responsible gaming habits. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of online game addiction by integrating perspectives from social learning and behavioral addiction theories, providing a conceptual framework for future studies on youth digital behavior.

Abstract

This study explores the legal and managerial implications of the absence of a Student Executive Board (Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa/BEM) at Universitas Pamulang. Law No. 12 of 2012 on Higher Education recognizes students’ rights to form intra-campus organizations as part of their academic and civic development. Nevertheless, Universitas Pamulang operates only through faculty-based associations (HIMA), without a university-level BEM. Using a normative juridical approach and descriptive qualitative analysis, this research reveals that the absence of BEM restricts student representation, weakens interfaculty coordination, and limits participatory decision-making. From a legal perspective, this condition indicates partial non-compliance with statutory obligations regarding organizational rights. From a managerial perspective, it reflects a governance gap that undermines accountability and inclusivity. The findings highlight the need for universities to align legal compliance with participatory management practices to enhance institutional legitimacy and educational quality. The study recommends that higher education institutions establish representative student bodies to foster democratic engagement and fulfill the mandates of national law.
