Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the application of teachers’ pedagogical competencies in managing a safe and comfortable learning environment, managing effective student-centered learning, and managing assessments, feedback, and reporting oriented to the needs of students at SMA Negeri 1 Biak Kota. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation studies, then analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing/verification stages. Data validity was assessed through triangulation and peer discussions. The results showed that teachers had applied pedagogical competencies well, as reflected in the management of a conducive learning environment, the use of innovative learning strategies and methods appropriate to student needs, and the implementation of assessments and feedback to improve learning outcomes. A good pedagogical application was supported by continuous coaching, peer and principal support, teacher professional awareness, and the availability of learning facilities. However, limitations in learning design, low motivation for self-development, and a lack of facilities and infrastructure remain obstacles. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen aspects of learning innovation, including by improving training programs and providing supporting facilities to strengthen teachers’ pedagogical competencies on an ongoing basis.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of peer interpersonal communication on academic adjustment among students of the Guidance and Counseling Study Program at Cenderawasih University. Using a quantitative associative design, data were collected from 102 students through total sampling and analyzed using simple linear regression. The results revealed a significant and positive relationship between peer communication and academic adjustment (t = 10.717, p < 0.05), with a correlation coefficient of R = 0.788 and R² = 0.621. These findings indicate that 62.1% of students’ academic adjustment can be explained by their level of interpersonal communication with peers. Students who demonstrate higher communication skills tend to adapt better academically, showing improved emotional stability, motivation, and collaboration. Theoretically, this study supports Devito’s interpersonal communication framework and Bandura’s Social Learning Theory, highlighting communication as a crucial factor in adaptive learning. Practically, the findings emphasize the need for universities to strengthen peer-based mentoring and communication training programs to enhance students’ academic resilience and success in higher education.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of group guidance with psychodrama techniques in overcoming learning saturation among university students. This mixed-method study employed an embedded design with a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest approach as the dominant quantitative component. The sample consisted of nine university students from the Guidance and Counseling Study Program at FKIP UNCEN, selected through purposive sampling based on high learning saturation scores from a 30-item questionnaire measured on a 5-point Likert scale. The results demonstrated a significant reduction in learning saturation levels following the psychodrama intervention, with paired t-test analysis showing a significant difference between pre-test and post-test scores (t = -4.739, df = 8, p = 0.001). Qualitative findings further revealed that students experienced improved self-control, increased relaxation, and enhanced learning motivation after participating in the psychodrama sessions. These findings indicate that group guidance with psychodrama techniques is an effective approach for reducing learning saturation among university students.

Abstract

In Indonesia, strategic environmental assessment (KLHS) documents are crucial for developing long-term regional plans (RPJPD). SEA provides the foundation for developing regional policies and activities so that development can be carried out sustainably. The goal of this training is to teach the use of Powersim Studio's dynamic model for preparing KLHS RPJPD documents in Jayapura City. The training is designed for communities directly involved in regional development policies and activities. In June 2024, the training was conducted for 12 Jayapura Regency Environment Agency civil servants using Powersim Studio tools. Results showed increased simulation capabilities regarding water and food carrying capacities and Sustainable Development Goal indicator scenarios from 2025 to 2045. Participants gained an understanding of how to support performance and long-term needs simulations.

Abstract

Kedisiplinan siswa merupakan indikator penting keberhasilan pendidikan karena menciptakan iklim belajar yang tertib, kondusif, dan efektif. Di SMA Negeri 1 Tiom, pengamatan awal menunjukkan masih adanya perilaku indisipliner, seperti keterlambatan, ketidakpatuhan terhadap aturan berpakaian, dan rendahnya partisipasi dalam kegiatan ekstrakurikuler. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis penerapan manajemen kesiswaan dalam meningkatkan kedisiplinan siswa di sekolah tersebut. Fokus penelitian meliputi pengelolaan absensi, pengawasan kepatuhan berpakaian, pembinaan ketepatan waktu, pembinaan disiplin melalui kegiatan ekstrakurikuler, faktor pendukung dan penghambat, serta dampaknya terhadap perilaku siswa. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus, mengumpulkan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi, yang melibatkan kepala sekolah, guru, wali kelas, dan siswa. Analisis data dilakukan melalui reduksi, penyajian, dan penarikan kesimpulan, dengan keabsahan diuji melalui triangulasi. Hasil menunjukkan manajemen kesiswaan diterapkan secara terencana, terorganisasi, dan konsisten melalui pengawasan kehadiran, penegakan disiplin berpakaian, pembiasaan ketepatan waktu, serta keterlibatan siswa dalam ekstrakurikuler. Faktor pendukung meliputi komitmen pimpinan, kerja sama guru, dan dukungan orang tua, sedangkan penghambat mencakup keterbatasan sarana, kondisi geografis, dan keberagaman latar siswa. Penerapannya berdampak positif terhadap kehadiran, kepatuhan, dan tanggung jawab siswa, membentuk budaya disiplin serta lingkungan belajar yang tertib dan efektif.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya kepemimpinan kolaboratif dalam menghadapi kompleksitas pengambilan keputusan strategis pada sekolah berpola asrama yang mengintegrasikan pengelolaan akademik dan pembinaan kehidupan siswa. Penelitian bertujuan menganalisis praktik kepemimpinan kolaboratif kepala sekolah dalam pengambilan keputusan strategis di SD Negeri Nawi Abua 1 Tiom, Kabupaten Lanny Jaya. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus, melibatkan kepala sekolah sebagai informan kunci serta kepala asrama, guru, staf sekolah, orang tua, dan siswa sebagai informan pendukung. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis melalui reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan dengan triangulasi sumber dan teknik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepemimpinan kolaboratif kepala sekolah berjalan efektif dalam mendukung pengambilan keputusan strategis, seperti penerapan sistem pengawasan terpadu antara guru dan pengelola asrama, penyusunan jadwal belajar malam wajib, penanganan pelanggaran melalui musyawarah, serta penentuan prioritas penggunaan anggaran bagi kebutuhan siswa asrama. Kolaborasi juga terlihat pada pembagian tugas guru sebagai pembina asrama dan koordinasi rutin dalam evaluasi program sehingga tercipta integrasi kebijakan akademik dan nonakademik. Keputusan diambil melalui komunikasi terbuka dan partisipasi seluruh unsur sekolah, yang mendorong budaya organisasi yang inklusif, transparan, dan responsif. Faktor pendukung meliputi komunikasi terbuka, kepercayaan, komitmen partisipatif, dukungan administratif, dan kemitraan dengan orang tua, sedangkan hambatan bersifat teknis. Kepemimpinan kolaboratif ini berdampak pada peningkatan kualitas keputusan, motivasi dan kinerja warga sekolah, kedisiplinan siswa, serta kepercayaan orang tua terhadap sekolah.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the impact of principal’s emotional-based intelligence leadership and students’ learning motivation in vocational schools in District Abepura Jayapura city of Papua Province. The study employed associative quantitative method. The subjects of the research were students of vocational schools in District Abepura, City of Jayapura, Papua Province with the population of 3.529 students and the sample of 97 students. The data for the research were mainly gathered from valid and reliable questionnaire, in depth-interview and also from related documentations. Pre-requisite test of data analysis included normality tets and linearity test. Data collected on the study were analysed using simple regression analysis through Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 23 software for windows. The result of the study indicates that principal’s emotional-based intelligence leadership held a positive and significant impact on students’ learning motivation in in vocational schools in District Abepura, City of Jayapura, Papua Province. The result of the study also demonstrates that there were significant relationship between principal’s emotional-based intelligence leadership and students’ learning motivation at significant level of 0,000 < 0,05 and the impact score of 66,8 %  which shows positive value. This means that the higher the rate of  principal’s emotional-based intelligence leadership, the better the students’ learning motivation.  The finding of the study is expected to be used as a reference for educational stakeholders or teachers especially for the future education leaders in term of motivating students to learn better.Keywords: principal’s leadership; emotional intelligence; students’ learning motivation

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the steps of the Internal Quality Assurance System (quality mapping, preparation of quality compliance plans, implementation of quality compliance, evaluation of quality audits and preparation of standards on National Standard in Education) at SD YPPK Gembala Baik, Jayapura City, Papua Province. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach to a case study design. The object of research is the principal, the head of school quality assurance, the quality coordinators and the head of the school committee. The data collection techniques used participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and checking documentation. The validity test of the data used data credibility techniques, namely triangulation, observation persistence, and peer discussion. Data analysis: data reduction, data display, and conclusion / verification. The results of this study indicate that in general, SD YPPK Gembala Baik, Jayapura City, Papua Province has implemented the SPMI steps properly according to the SPMI-Dikdasmen implementation guidelines in the following forms of activities. (1) lead the quality mapping process, ensure that the responsibility for quality mapping is shared and become part of school management, directs all school members to work together, focuses on evaluating and improving school quality; (2) planning for quality compliance through compiling RKS / RKAS documents; (3) carry out the fulfillment of quality by determining the person in charge and schedule, allocation of funding, according to conditions, and reporting of programs / activities; (4) carry out evaluation / internal audit by establishing evaluation indicators, compiling instruments, collecting data, analyzing and preparing recommendations; and (5) formulating new quality standards by implementing benchmarking, accessing rules related to SNP, studying and formulating quality indicators and their criteria in accordance with SNPs, socializing regulations, formulating indicators and establishing them with stakeholders as a reference for the initial quality of education.Keywords: internal; quality assurance system

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the principal's entrepreneurial competence in innovations, committed, being highly motivated, persistent and creative for effective solutions, and having an entrepreneurial ability in managing the activities of the production unit at SMK Negeri 2 Bisnis Manajemen Jayapura. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach to a case study design. The research participants are principals, parents, alumni, students, and the Business and Industrial World (DUDI). Data collection techniques used participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation study. The validity data test using data credibility techniques, namely triangulation and peer discussion. The data analysis uses an interactive pattern with the stages of data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions/verification. The results of this study conclude that in general the principal, in his leadership has implemented entrepreneurial competencies such as innovations, committed, being highly motivated, persistent and creative for effective solutions) well, which is manifested in various forms of activities, including SMK Mart and travel agents business division, team work through the ISO 9001-2015 mechanism, environmental management, increasing the competence of teachers and students, as well as collaborating with DUDI.Keywords: implementation; competence; entrepreneurship; school principal

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis implementasi gerakan literasi membaca dan faktor pendukung dan penghambatnya di SD Inpres Dabolding Kabupaten Pegunungan Bintang Provinsi Papua. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif rancangan studi kasus, dengan sumber data kepala sekolah, guru kelas, orang tua, komite sekolah, siswa dan dokumen. Peneliti melakukan wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif dan dokumen. Peneliti sebagai instrumen utama dilengkapi dengan panduan wawancara, observasi, dan dokumen. Teknik keabsahan data menggunakan teknik kredibilitas dengan triangulasi (sumber dan teknik), memperpanjang waktu pengamatan, dan diskusi teman sejawat. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan model analisis interaktif Miles dan Huberman yaitu dengan tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa SD Inpres Dabolding Kabupaten Pegunungan Bintang Provinsi Papua, telah mengimplementasikan gerakan literasi membaca yang diwujudkan dalam berbagai bentuk kegiatan, seperti sosialisasi gerakan literasi membaca kepada komunitas sekolah, komite sekolah,  pembiasaan membaca 15 menit sebelum pelajaran dimulai,  memberi kebebasan memilih tempat dan jenis buku disukai, membuat perpustakaan ramah anak,  ketersediaan pojok/sudut baca, pajangan hasil karya siswa, membuat jadwal kunjungan ke perpustakaan,  dan membuat kelas khusus literasi membaca. Beberapa faktor pendukungnya yaitu kebijakan pemerintah/sekolah, ketersediaan buku bacaan di perpustakaan, peran serta orang tua dan komite, Sedangkan yang menjadi faktor penghambatnya yaitu keterbatasan tenaga pendidik dan pelatihan khusus GLS/literasi membaca, belum terbentuknya tim GLS/literasi membaca dan keterbatasan sarana dan prasarana.
