Abstract

ZnO has been produced using a green synthesis method. This research aims to determine the effect of  NaOH variations on ZnO nanoparticles obtained using red betel leaf extract. The variation of  NaOH used is 0,2; 0,4; 0,6;  the characterization carried out was Fourier Transformation Infra Red (FTIR), X-Ray Difraction (XRD),   Scanning Electron  Microscopy (SEM), dan Ultra Violet Vissible (UV DRS) the results of FTIR  characterization show that the functional groups in red betel leaves play a role in the information of  ZnO nanoparticles, XRD characrerization shows diffraction peaks of ZnO nanoparticles and the presence of NaNO3 phase at 0,2; 0,4; 0,6; and 1 M variation. Then, the SEM results showed a spherical morphology at a 1 M variation, and the UV-DRS results showed an absorption peak at 331 nm and a band gap energy of 3.11 eV.

Abstract

Nanocellulose-based CNC–ZnO nanocomposites from garlic peel waste were successfully synthesized as environmentally friendly photocatalysts. This study aimed to valorize kitchen waste as a source of cellulose and combine it with ZnO through a one-pot precipitation method using CNC and Zn(NO₃)₂ as ZnO precursors. Structural, morphological, and optical properties were characterized using FTIR, XRD, SEM–EDX, XRF, and UV–Vis DRS. The XRD pattern showed a crystalline cellulose peak at 2θ ≈ 22.22° with a crystallite size of approximately 20.65 nm, while the CNC–ZnO nanocomposites showed crystallite sizes in the range of 23.93–31.12 nm. Peak shifts and broadening suggested interfacial interactions between CNC and ZnO, and the wurtzite ZnO reflections displayed a broad shoulder due to overlap with the cellulose peak and the high dispersion of ZnO within the CNC matrix. SEM–EDX analysis revealed a rod-like bundled agglomerated morphology, with the presence of Zn confirmed by EDX (39.23%) and XRF (~8.36%). The CNC–ZnO0.9 sample exhibited a band gap energy of 2.95 eV. Photocatalytic test against methyl orange (10 ppm) increased with UV irradiation time, achieving net photocatalytic efficiencies of 79.12% and 63% in the first and second cycles after 120 min, respectively. Kinetic analysis indicated that the degradation data were better described by a pseudo-second-order model with a rate constant of 0.0374 min⁻¹, indicating the role of surface interactions and the availability of active sites. These results confirmed the potential of CNC–ZnO nanocomposites derived from garlic peel waste as photocatalysts for organic dye degradation

Abstract

Kata kunci: fisika; inverted class ; mahasiswa baru; pemahaman matematika AbstractHowever, many students struggle to grasp basic mathematical concepts, which negatively impacts their academic performance. This community service program aims to implement the Inverted Class method to evaluate its effectiveness in addressing this issue. The program activities were carried out in 3th dan 4th weeks of January 2025. This program was divided into three stages: preparation, classroom implementation, and evaluation of its success, involving 55 first-year physics students at Universitas Lampung. During the preparation phase, an interactive, engaging, and modern module was developed. An initial test was conducted to assess students' understanding of basic mathematical concepts, yielding an average score of 42.9%. The implementation phase involved two Inverted Class learning sessions. In the evaluation phase, the students' understanding improved significantly, with an average score increase to 60.5%. Additionally, students provided positive feedback on the learning process and the module used. This program successfully demonstrated that the Inverted Class method can serve as an effective approach to improving conceptual understanding while fostering students' independent learning skills. Keywords: inverted class; first-year students; physics; mathematical understanding; independence

Abstract

Abstract

Zeolite based silica rice husk has been prepared at temperature of 450, 550, and 650?. This research was conducted to study the effect of calcination temperature in forming of crystalline phases and standard electron rate constant (k0). The zeolite K450 was formed quartz and bohmite phases, zeolite K550 and K650 was formed cristobalite, stishovite, gamma-alumina, and natrolite phases. Electrochemical reaction of zeolite K450, K550 and K650 are irreversible. Peak potential oxidation-reduction is between 240 mV and 390 mV. The higher value of calcination, the higher value of k0. The k0 value of zeolite K450, K550, K650 at scan rate of 1 V/s are 29,658 x 10-9; 36,398 x 10-9; 77,110 x 10-9 cm/s respectively. Natrolite phase of zeolite K550 and K650 have changed zeolite charge be netral. Based on these result, value k0 of zeolite K550 and K650 are going to be a reversible.
