Abstract

Organizations possess interconnected structures and goals, relying heavily on human communication to coordinate their activities. This study aims to examine the influence of leadership style on employee performance, the impact of work motivation on employee performance, and the combined effect of both variables on the performance of employees at the Class IIB Correctional Institution of Gunung Sugih. The research employed a survey method with both qualitative and quantitative approaches. The analysis revealed that leadership style and work motivation simultaneously have a significant effect on employee performance, with a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.673 and a contribution of 39.4%. The F-test result showed an F-value of 5.538, which exceeds the F-table value of 2.40 at a 5% significance level, indicating that the alternative hypothesis is accepted and the null hypothesis is rejected. In conclusion, leadership style and work motivation significantly influence employee performance improvement. Therefore, it is recommended that both aspects be further enhanced, underperforming employees be provided with appropriate training, supervisory control be strengthened, and a fair reward and punishment system be implemented.

Abstract

Purpose: This study examines how land is designated as no-parking zones and the efforts to suppress illegal parking in Lampung Province. Research Methodology: The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Results: Findings show ten areas where parking is prohibited: on bends, shoulders, or bridges; pedestrian or bicycle tracks; near traffic lights; main roads; in front of or close to stopped vehicles; within 6 m of intersections; within 9 m of bus stops (unless damaged); within 3 m of fire hydrants or areas hindering fire-fighting access; along slippery roads; on overpasses, tunnels, or their approaches; and on grass verges or shoulders. To address illegal parking, the Lampung Province Transportation Agency has taken several measures: mapping parking zones, improving management to support traffic flow and local revenue (PAD), fostering community and government awareness, providing guidance to ensure proper management, and enforcing sanctions. However, emphasis is placed more on education and guidance than punishment. Conclusions: Effective parking management, supported by public awareness, government intervention, and structured regulations, is essential for traffic safety and efficiency. Limitations: The study is limited to Lampung Province and uses descriptive data, restricting broader generalization. Contribution: This research offers practical insights for regional governments to improve traffic order through structured parking management and emphasizes the role of education and community awareness in reducing illegal parking.

Abstract

Purpose: This study reviews Quality Management Systems (QMS) in higher education, examining key concepts, implementation models, impacts, and challenges. It highlights leadership, accreditation, technology, and quality culture as critical success factors and shows how globalization and digital transformation shape accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. Methodology/Approach: A qualitative descriptive approach was used through a literature review of 11 Scopus-indexed journals, identified via Publish or Perish with keywords “quality management system in higher education.” The thematic synthesis identified and interpreted the core themes. Results/Findings: The findings show that models such as ISO 9001, TQM, and EFQM are widely adopted and aligned with continuous improvement cycles such as PPEPP. An effective QMS enhances the quality of learning, reputation, and employability. Success depends on leadership commitment, stakeholder engagement and contextual adaptability. Bridging theory and practice is essential for sustainable improvements. Conclusions: Quality management systems in higher education face challenges from diverse stakeholder demands, weak implementation, and limited alignment with ISO 21001:2018. Policies without strong leadership and continuous evaluation are inadequate. TQM offers a comprehensive, evidence-based framework that strengthens the QMS and supports digital integration, engagement, sustainability, and global competitiveness. Limitations: This study is limited to a literature review of 11 selected articles without primary data collection, which may be subject to search bias and researcher interpretation. Contributions: This study consolidates diverse QMS models into a strategic reference for university leaders and identifies research gaps, particularly in integrating advanced technologies such as AI and blockchain.
