Abstract

Abstract Early childhood education can help children develop to their potential. If people around the child ignore their needs, the child will experience less than optimal growth and development. Developmental delays in childhood can hinder developmental achievements at later stages. So it is essential to optimize the role of the surrounding environment to support the golden age of children. For some people, books are not a basic need. Various learning resources are needed for children's learning and learning processes to run effectively and efficiently. This activity aims to provide various learning resources that can optimize the development of children in Pantai Mekar Village. The target of this activity is the school community at SD Negeri Pantai Mekar 03. Planning for activities has been going on since May 2023, while activities will run in August 2023. Some of the learning resources collected include rainbow rocket educational game media, educational posters, textbooks (thematic, dictionary, verse, Olympic preparation), general knowledge books (atlas, RPAL, RPUL, encyclopedias, fun questions and answers, marine animal knowledge series), and books on internalizing character values (magic series, adab series, pillars of Islam series, my series, character building fables). This community service activity through outreach combines several methods, such as lectures, discussions, games, and training in managing learning resources. Many participants enthusiastically participated in the activity, especially during the game session. Participants have high curiosity and try hard to finish the game victorious. With this new learning resource, children's literacy can increase.

Abstract

People of all ages are using mobile devices more frequently, and more children are reportedly using digital media as well, which raises the risk of Digital Eye Strain (DES). There have been few studies on how often DES affects children particularly post-pandemic. The purpose of this study is to review published literature concerning DES, including its pathogenesis and therapy options. A literature search was performed based on PubMed, EMBASE and Scopus databases published from 2003 to 2023 using the broad search term “digital eye strain”, “ocular asthenopia secondary to digital gadgets”, “computer vision syndrome”, “eye strain post-computer or mobile use”, “visual weariness”, and “children" in all fields. Of the 163 articles retrieved, 107 were retained for inclusion in this review. The result reveals that there is an urgent need to inform parents, caregivers, and youth about setting screen time limits and applying ergonomic practices due to the recent surge in digital electronic gadget usage among kids and young adults.

Abstract

To improve the quality of Human Resources, it is necessary to improve the quality of education. In this case, the quality of education in Indonesia is expected to be able to bring progress to a nation and state. To overcome this, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) program was enacted. One of the indicators of the implementation of the 4th SDGs is "ensuring equal, inclusive quality education and supporting lifelong learning opportunities for all". The purpose of this study is to find out the involvement of healthy friendship relationships among students in reducing bullying in the school environment. This research method uses an associative quantitative approach. This research was carried out in State Junior High Schools in DKI Jakarta, with a population of 1,620 and a sample of 324 State Junior High School students in DKI Jakarta. The results of this study showed that peer relationships had a significant relationship with bullying (P value = 0.000<0.05). The correlation coefficient is -0.253 which means that the two variables have a negative relationship with a weak level of closeness. In this case, healthy friendships can reduce bullying in the school environment

Abstract

This study aims to provide a strong and clear overview based on relevant and reliable sources regarding the impact of maternal nutritional parenting patterns, especially in economically constrained families, on the physical development of early childhood. This research was conducted using a descriptive qualitative method. The study involved interviewing mothers of children aged 3-5 years in the Rawamangun area, East Jakarta, in May 2023. The results showed that out of 20 respondents, 7 mothers had good nutritional parenting patterns, while 13 mothers had poor ones. Among them, 11 children, or 55%, experienced stunting. It can be concluded from our research that the physical growth of children depends on the parenting approach, particularly in terms of nutrition and diet. However, to ensure children grow healthily, mothers need a solid understanding of good parenting practices. Therefore, to prevent growth delays in early childhood, especially in economically challenged families, it is essential to conduct socialization efforts on good nutritional parenting. This would help address nutritional issues faced by young children in financially struggling families. Such socialization should target not only the mothers but also the children and can be conducted at local community health centers (posyandu).
