Abstract

In the rapidly digitizing landscape of Islamic banking, innovation is imperative for competitiveness and delivering top-tier services to customers. Electronic Customer Relationship Management (E-CRM) emerges as a key solution, streamlining interactions between banks and customers in the digital realm. This study delves into how E-CRM and Service Quality affect Customer Loyalty within Islamic banks, with a focus on Shariah Compliance as a moderating factor. The aim is to decipher how the Islamic banking sector can cultivate and enhance customer relationships in the digital age. Employing a quantitative approach, the research collects survey data from 212 Islamic bank customers through random sampling. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), executed using IBM AMOS V.22 software, scrutinizes the collected data. Findings indicate a significant, positive contribution of E-CRM to Customer Loyalty. Interestingly, Service Quality doesn't wield a significant influence on Customer Loyalty, suggesting the presence of other influential factors in the Islamic banking arena. Notably, Shariah Compliance emerges as an important moderating element, bolstering the connection between Service Quality and Customer Loyalty, though it doesn't moderate the impact of E-CRM on Customer Loyalty.

Abstract

This study approaches the problem of banking efficiency in an innovative way. It aims to identify workable solutions for enhancing the efficiency of Indonesian banks as something that is very important after this pandemic Covid-19 time. In order to build a strategy map model, the research is divided into four steps: (1) a desk study of best practices for enhancing banking efficiency; (2) a survey for choosing strategies; (3) a focus group discussion to identify relationships among strategies; and (4) an Analytic Network Process (ANP) modeling to prioritize and build a strategy map model. According to the Strategy Map, the following areas should be prioritized for efficiency improvement: Financial, Customer Value, Learning and Growth, and Internal Process. Indonesian bankers could allocate limited resources in ways that would boost the efficiency of the majority of banks based on the designed strategy map. Despite the fact that these strategy maps are not universal, the research shows that the suggested method is a practical and objective way to create more justified strategy maps. Abstract

Advances in information technology (IT) in the banking industry such as BankCo to implement digital transformation (TD). However, failures often occur in the implementation of TD due to poor IT governance. Therefore TD activities are regulated in PER-2/MBU/03/2023 concerning guidelines for corporate governance and the Indonesian Financial Services Sector Master Plan 2021-2025 concerning accelerating digital transformation. This research applies the DSR using the semi-structured interview method and design factor analysis using the COBIT 2019 Information and Technology Risk framework. The results of the design factor analysis resulted in prioritized IT management governance objectives (TKMTI) in the form of EDM03 Ensured Risk Optimization, APO12 Managed Risk, and APO02 Managed Strategy. Furthermore, an analysis of focus areas, preparation of recommendations, design of solutions, and roadmaps according to the seven components of governance were carried out, thus increasing the capability value by 0.6 (16.67%) from before the improvement. This research contributes to the knowledge base for related research, as well as being a reference for managing IT risk management for BankCo, as well as the banking industry in general. Keywords: Digital Transformation; IT Governance and Management; COBIT I&T Risk Management Focus Area; Design Science Research; Bank. AbstrakKemajuan teknologi informasi (TI) dalam industri perbankan seperti BankCo untuk melakukan implementasi transformasi digital (TD). Abstract

Indonesia's banking efficiency is still a concern for many stakeholders, especially with the challenges to compete in the era of the ASEAN Economic Community. This study estimates the value of banking technical efficiency using Stochastic Frontier Analysis and shows that the numbers have not improved significantly in the last ten years. From the time-varrying SFA model it appears that the national banking industry experienced a decline in efficiency from 2007-2009, most likely due to the impact of the world financial crisis but improved again in 2010 and so on at a certain average level until 2016. Hausman test results from three SFA models show that the time-invariant model is statistically better so that it can be concluded that banking efficiency has stagnated over the past decade (2007-2016). The measurement result of Indonesian banking technical efficiency in that period have an average value of 0.677.

Abstract

Organizations must embrace emerging technology through Digital Transformation (DT) to remain competitive in the digital revolution era. While previous research has highlighted the critical role of DT strategy and architecture in driving DT success in large banks, these insights have not been thoroughly tested in small-scale banks. Small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) banks like BPR often encounter significant challenges in the DT journey, including limited infrastructure, reliance on outdated and poorly integrated systems, and slow technology adoption. These barriers hinder their ability to support the DT initiatives necessary for thriving in the digital age. This study aims to develop an enterprise architecture blueprint tailored to support DT in BPRACo, an SME-scale bank. The research follows a five-stage Design Science Research (DSR) methodology, encompassing problem explication, requirement specification, design and development, demonstration, and evaluation. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, validated through document triangulation, and analyzed using the TOGAF 10 framework, covering phases from preliminary planning to migration. The resulting blueprint was integrated into BPRACo's DT Strategy for 2024-2026. This research enhances the understanding of enterprise architecture's role in DT within the context of SME banks. It offers practical guidance for BPRACo and similar institutions to implement prioritized enterprise architecture artifacts, facilitating a successful DT journey.

Abstract

In the digital age of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, organizations like BPRACo must undergo Digital Transformation (DT). A significant challenge is the lack of adequate information security controls, which can lead to DT failure. Smaller banks, such as BPR, face difficulties in adopting effective information security management strategies that are proven for larger institutions. This study aims to identify the application of ISO 27001:2022 standards and develop an information security management system focusing on the most critical annex clauses for SME digital transformation. It also seeks to evaluate and analyze the impact of an information security management system aligned with these key clauses on SME DT success. The research employs a five-stage Design Science Research (DSR). Data were collected through interviews and document analysis, then analyzed using the ISO 27001:2022 framework for Information Security Management Systems (ISMS). The study identified six priority Clause and Annex controls for BPRACo. Based on the gaps, six essential solutions were designed, compiled into an implementation roadmap to enhance BPRACo readiness for full ISMS implementation and certification, supporting DT success in small banks. This research provides valuable insights and practical implications for information security management in small banks.

Abstract

The rapid embrace of digital technology is visible in the Fintech industry as a born-digital company. Previous research identified the influence of IT governance (ITG) on organizational performance (OP), mediated by digital transformation (DT). However, more research is needed to understand how IT risk management works in Fintech's digitalization. This study uses Design Science Research (DSR) following ISACA's COBIT 2019 I&T Risk Focus Area. It looks at a case study in FintechCo, using interviews data and document triangulation. Solutions and plans are created based on the gaps found in seven components within FintechCo's three priorities: EDM03 Ensured Risk Optimization, APO12 Managed Risk, and MEA03 Managed Compliance with External Requirements resulting estimated capability improvement 0,8 (34,8%). This study helps us understand how to manage IT-related risks in organizational digitalization and offers practical insights for FintechCo's digitalization journey.

Abstract

Digital transformation has become a priority for SMEs (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises), including BPRBCo (Bank Perekonomian Rakyat), to remain competitive amidst rapid technological developments. Information security is a critical aspect in this process, which requires a systematic and standardized approach. Previous research emphasizes the importance of ambidextrous (hybrid traditional and agile) information security management for large-scale banks as one of the seven key mechanisms for successful digital transformation, namely data management and information security. However, this approach has not proven effective for small-scale banks such as BPRs. This research aims to design an information security management system (ISMS) based on ISO 27001:2022, with a focus on the readiness of BPRBCo SME in facing digital transformation. This research adopts the five stages of Design Science Research (DSR), namely problem identification, requirement specification, design and development, demonstration, and evaluation. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews and document analysis, then analyzed using the ISO 27001:2022 SMKI framework. After risk analysis and mapping against previous study references, PDCA and Annex controls were found to be prioritized for BPRBCo. The results of this study developed an IMS framework specifically designed to meet the needs of SMEs, with a focus on the SME Focus Area. The DSR method enables the creation of practical solutions, based on an iterative cycle that combines theory and practice to produce optimal results. The resulting ISMS framework is then evaluated to assess the extent to which this design affects BPRBCo's readiness to obtain ISO 27001:2022 certification, as well as its impact on improving information security during the digital transformation process. This research also provides implementation recommendations by integrating three main aspects: people, process, and technology.
