Abstract

An open-ended problem in learning mathematics is a problem with more than one answer or method of solving. In solving open-ended problems in learning mathematics, one of the abilities students must use is decision-making ability. Each student has a variety of capacities, so this study aims to determine students' decision-making abilities in solving open-ended problems in learning mathematics. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative research. The subjects of this study were four students with different numbers of correct answers in working on open-ended problems. Data collection was carried out using tests and interviews. The results showed that (1) the decision-making ability of the subject who answers correctly for both problems is complete because they fulfill all indicators, the subject can identify goals, make decisions, evaluate the results of determination, and present and remember between problems with things known to the problem and related to decisions that have been taken correctly; (2) decision-making ability for subjects with wrong answers on one number or two numbers is incomplete because they only fulfilled two indicators, the subject can identify goals, make decisions, is less able to evaluate decision results and present and remember between problems with things known to the problem, and related to decisions that have been taken with correct. Mathematics teachers should often reinforce students to practice operating integers because it is a prerequisite for learning mathematics at the middle and high school levels.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendiskripsikan dan menganalisis kemampuan literasi matematis siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah aritmatika sosial ditinjau dari self confidence pada siswa kelas VII SMP. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 2 Kebonsari Kelas VII. Subyek dalam penelitian ini adalah 3 siswa dari 24 siswa kelas VIIA yang masing-masing memiliki kategori self confidence tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis kualitatif deskriptif. Instrumen penelitian ini menggunakan angket, soal tes, dan pedoman wawancara. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diperoleh kesimpulan sebagai berikut. 1) Siswa dengan tingkat self confidence tinggi mampu memenuhi semua indikator kemampuan literasi matematis yang ditunjukkan dengan mampu menuliskan dan menyebutkan informasi pada soal (komunikasi), menggunakan simbol matematika, membuat bentuk matematika, penyajian ulang, penggunaan strategi penyelesaian matematika, dan penarikan kesimpulan. 2) siswa dengan tingkat self confidence sedang belum memenuhi semua indikator kemampuan literasi matematis yang ditunjukkan dengan tidak menyajikan ulang masalah dalam pemisalan, tetapi mampu membuat bentuk matematika dari masalah awal, mampu menuliskan dan menyebutkan informasi pada soal (komunikasi), menggunakan simbol, merancang dan menerapkan strategi penyelesaian masalah, serta menuliskan kesimpulan. 3) Siswa dengan tingkat self confidence rendah belum memenuhi semua indikator literasi matematis yang ditunjukkan dengan tidak menggunakan simbol matematika, tidak membuat model matematika, tidak melakukan penyajian ulang masalah, belum menyusun dan menerapkan strategi penyelesaian masalah dengan tepat.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of geogebra-assisted learning based on Indonesian batik on students' computational thinking. This research uses the Quasi Experiment Design method with the non-equivalent group design. Hypothesis testing uses the non-parametric Mann-Whitney U Test because the data is not normally distributed. The test was carried out using the IBM SPSS Statistics 25 program. This research was carried out at SMPN 8 Madiun on 4 - 18 September 2023 with geometric transformation material. The population in this study were all class IX students at SMPN 8 Madiun, totaling 219 students. The samples were taken randomly, with 26 class IX A students as the control class and 23 class IX E students as the experimental class. The instrument of this research is a computational thinking test. This test is needed to measure students' CT in learning geometric transformation material after the treatment is given. Before the instrument is administered, validity and reliability are proven. The research results show that based on the "Test Statistics" output in the Mann-Whitney test, it is found that the value of Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 is smaller than <0.05 probability value, then Ho is rejected. Thus, there is a difference in students' CT test results between classes with geogebra-assisted learning based on Indonesian batik and conventional classes with an average experimental class score of 81.52 and an average conventional class score of 50.46. Because there are significant differences, it can be concluded that there is an influence of geogebra-assisted learning based on Indonesian batik on students' CT. Abstract

Literacy and numeracy skills are essential skills that students must master starting from the primary school level. Motivation is a psychological condition in a person who is driven by a strong will and presents a feeling of pleasure in carrying out an action to achieve a certain goal. So this research aims to describe numeracy literacy skills in terms of student learning motivation. This research is descriptive qualitative research. The data collection technique used questionnaires, tests, and interviews. So the conclusion of this study is that the numeracy literacy skills of students with high learning motivation, moderate learning motivation and low learning motivation in solving problems are similar, numeracy literacy skills of students with high learning motivation and moderate learning motivation also have similarities in determining and implementing appropriate solution strategies, while literacy and numeracy skills of students with low learning motivation, in determining and implementing strategies and solutions are not appropriate

Abstract

Pelaksanaan magang yang dilaksanakan di CV. Bintang Lima Mahardikka, Metode dasar yang digunakan dalam praktik magang ini adalah Observasi, Studi Lapangan, Wawancara dan Studi Pustaka. Adapun yang melatar belakangi lokasi magang dilakukan di CV. Bintang Lima Mahardikka adalah kesesuaian antara perusahaan tersebut dengan usaha mahasiswa yang akan dikembangkan dalam Program Pengembangan Kewirausahaan (PPK). Selain itu, perusahaan tersebut telah berhasil mengadakan berbagai macam event besar di wilayah Madiun Kota yang merupakan lokasi pengembangan usaha mahasiswa. CV. Bintang Lima Mahardikka memiliki manajemen yang sangat baik. Perusahaan tersebut membawahi dua perusahaan lainnya: SatuAtap yang bergerak dalam persewaan peralatan event serta Event Organizer (EO), dan A1 Media yang menangani periklanan seperti percetakan sekaligus pemasangan baliho dan PNTV. Dari praktik magang yang dilakukan selama 33 hari, mahasiswa bersama timnya berhasil membuat beberapa desain untuk klien CV. Bintang Lima Mahardikka dengan panduan divisi desain perusahaan tersebut. Selain itu, mahasiswa juga ambil bagian dalam pengadaan event Bluder Cokro Fest 2018 dan  Madiun Motor Fest 2018. Hingga kegiatan magang berakhir, semua berjalan baik dan lancar dengan kerjasama tim yang baik antara mahasiswa magang dengan tim CV. Bintang Lima Mahardikka.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the difficulties experienced by students in understanding the double integral in polar coordinates advanced calculus courses and the factors that cause these problems. This research is qualitative. Subjects were students of the fourth semester of academic year 2015/2016 Mathematics Education, IKIP  PGRI Madiun totaling 3 persons. Data collection techniques have used that test, observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis technique conducted with qualitative data analysis, namely data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results were obtained five kinds of difficulties students in understanding the integral double the coordinates polar, namely 1) the difficulty in drawing a function in polar coordinates and determine the areas of integration, 2) the difficulty in converting the variable into polar coordinates, 3) difficulty in defining the limits of integration, 4) difficulty in writing a form of integration in polar coordinates, 5) difficulties in performing the calculations. Factors causing these difficulties is the ability to understand the matter is low, understanding in drawing a function in two-dimensional and three are still low, difficulties in visualizing the image of a function, do not understand the concept of comparison trigonometry, do not understand in determining the limits of integration in polar coordinates, less rigorous in setting limits of integration, not yet understand the concept of double integral in polar coordinates, lower integration calculation capabilities, yet integral mastered trigonometry.
