Abstract

 The purpose of agricultural extension is to produce competent human resources for agricultural development actors so that they are able to build strong agricultural businesses, do better farming (better farming), make farming more profitable (better businesses), live more prosperously (better living) and a healthier environment. This study aims to find out about the role of extension workers and their constraints. This research was conducted by taking data through interviews with extension workers and the results of filling out questionnaires by 33 members of the farmer group. The results of the study concluded that extension workers played a very important role in agricultural extension in Bius Baru village as mentors, organizers/ dynamizers, technicians, consultants, educators, leaders and advisors. Farmer groups have developed with routine activities and assignments, adequate facilities, farming experience, group norms and rules and group classes. The constraints of extension workers in developing farmer groups are: participation of members of farmer groups is still low, members of farmer groups are not consistent in attending meetings where some are present and others are not present, low motivation of farmers to become more advanced and infrastructure that is not yet adequate. Farmers' constraints are: field coordination, most farmers have side jobs, use of farmer group facilities and discontinuous meeting times.

Abstract

Cocoa is one of the primary commodities in Meureudu and Trienggadeng Sub-districts, Pidie Jaya Regency. Many cocoa farmers in the sub-districts still need to understand the process and benefits of fermenting cocoa beans. Bean fermentation is essential because it can increase biochemical changes and the concentration of flavour precursors in cocoa beans so that it has a high selling value. This community service activity was implemented using counselling methods, demonstrations, and the submission of fermenters. It was held for two days assisting and attended by 59 of 70 farmers from two groups. Results showed the participants' positive response to the partaking activities and their interest in fermenting cocoa. Through the activities that have been carried out, cocoa farmers understand and can maintain a good cocoa bean fermentation process. Assistance to farmer groups must be continuously conducted so that cocoa farmers remain consistent in fermenting cocoa beans to produce better quality cocoa.

Abstract

Most of the houses owned by the community in Gampong Lam Bheu have yards and have not been used. The main problems of partners are: (1) Lack of knowledge and skills in TOGA cultivation starting from land preparation, seeding, planting and care. (2) Do not know what types of plants are included in TOGA (3). Lack of knowledge and skills in processing TOGA into herbs and other herbal medicines. (4). There is no village-owned TOGA educational park yet. Implementation activities will begin with the coordination and socialization stage, then continue with counseling on the introduction of types, benefits of family medicinal plants and making brochures. The next activity was a demonstration of the use of yards, proper cultivation of plants starting from cultivating the land, seeding, planting and maintenance, production of liquid organic fertilizers with household waste as raw materials and production of vegetable pesticides. Followed by a demonstration of the processing of TOGA into herbal medicine and herbal medicines, partners will then be facilitated in making the Village's Educational Park. Conclusion This PMM activity program is proven to have: Increased knowledge, skills and ability to understand the types and benefits of family medicinal plants, ability to understand TOGA cultivation, production of liquid organic fertilizer, and production of vegetable pesticides, as well as ability to process family medicinal plants into herbs and medicines herbal medicines that have high selling value

Abstract

Pengetahuan dan keterampilan ruhul hidroponik dan ismulia farm dalam hal budidaya hidroponik, pengemasan produk dan pemasaran produk secara umum masih terbatas. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian berbasis produk ini untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kelompok mitra tentang budidaya hidroponik, pengemasan produk dan pemasaran produk untuk meningkatkan produksi dan pendapatan. Kendala utama dalam peningkatan pendapatan adalah sulitnya memasarkan produk. Disamping itu tanaman sangat mudah terserang berbagai penyakit. Mengatasi permasalahan tersebut tiga orang dosen dari Universitas Syiah Kuala memfasilitasi kegiatan pengabdian tentang Peningkatan Kualitas Sayur Hidroponik dan Pengembangan Sistem Informasi Pemasaran Berbasis Mobile application. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Desa Kopelma Darussalam, Kecamatan Syiah Kuala Kota Banda Aceh dan Desa Meunasah Manyang Kecamatan Krueng Barona Jaya Kabupaten Aceh Besar dari bulan Maret sampai dengan Agustus 2021. Pelaksanaan kegiatan ini meliputi pelatihan, demonstrasi dan pembuatan aplikasi berbasis mobile application. Target dan luaran dari kegiatan ini adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kelompok mitra tentang Penggunaan media tanam yang ramah lingkungan dan ekonomis serta mengaplikasikan penanganan hama secara alami, membuat pestisida nabati dan mendesain kemasan yang lebih baik sehingga mempunyai nilai jual tinggi. Selain itu khalayak sasaran mendapatkan fasilitas hidroponik baru untuk mendukung ketersediaan produksi. Manfaat lainnya khalayak sasaran dapat menggunakan aplikasi supplier dan pemasaran berbasis mobile application untuk memudahkan dalam pemasaran. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa telah terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan mitra dalam memproduksi pestisida nabati, memperbaiki kemasan produk, penangganan hama secara alamiah dengan menggunakan perangkap hama, dan penggunaan media tanam yang ramah lingkungan yang mempunyai nilai ekonomis yang bisa dimanfaatkan untuk budidaya hidroponik. Kedua mitra telah mengaplikasi penggunaan pestisida nabati dan perbaikan kemasan produk yang dapat meningkatkan daya tarik pembeli. Terdapat peningkatan omset penjualan produk hidroponik kedua mitra setelah menggunakan aplikasi android.

Abstract

The purpose of this community service is to increase the knowledge, attitudes and skills of PKK mothers in Gue Gajah Village regarding verticulture shelf assembly techniques, proper business management, diversification of verticultural processed food and professional marketing using a mobile application. Implementation activities will begin with the coordination and socialization stage with partners for the implementation of activities, then proceed with training on diversification of processed food products. The next activity is to provide counseling on business management, and ways to develop it. Providing counseling on business management, and ways to develop it. Furthermore, partners will be facilitated in making mobile application digital marketing applications so as to facilitate the marketing process. Based on the results of the activity, it can be concluded that partners have increased their knowledge and skills in improving horticultural cultivation vertically. Long-term planning on the use of a marketing android application to increase sales of vegetables. This application is expected to be one of the models in tools for marketing vegetable products in Banda Aceh and Aceh Besar. The continuation of this program can also be carried out by forming partners or partners for Study Programs within the University of Syiah Kuala to support the Independent Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM) program. Students will later do an internship at Dudi Partners with conditions that have been agreed upon by both parties.

Abstract

Government efforts for agricultural development in order to increase economic growth in the current era of globalization aims to identify superior commodities that exist in the region. Thus, the government can increase competitiveness with other regions that produce the same commodity. The existence of superior commodities in an area reflects to agricultural resources  and economic potential that can be further developed to increase regional economic growth. The purpose of this study is to find what superior commodities to food crops are and to determine the growth rate of production of food crops in East Aceh Regency. This study used LQ (Location Quotient) analysis and Compounding Factor Growth Analysis. The scope of this research is limited to the production and planting area of food crops (rice, corn, soybeans, peanuts, green beans, cassava, sweet potatoes) in East Aceh Regency. The types of data in this study are secondary data with the type of data time series production and planting area of food crops in East Aceh Regency during from 2012 to 2016. There were 7 (seven) food crop commodities found in East Aceh Regency, two commodities that have advantages (LQ> 1), namely rice and soybeans. Both commodities are classified as superior commodities because they are influenced by factors in the amount of planting area and high production. The area of planting and production of the two commodities contributed to the planting area and production of the Aceh Province exceeding the contribution of the same planting area and production of commodities in other regions. For soybean commodities, the value of LQ obtained from the planting area is (1.59) and the production LQ is equal to (1.63). While the LQ rice planted area obtained is (1.01) and the production LQ is equal to (1.05). The average of the leading commodities that get the first rank are soybean commodities with an average LQ value of (1.59) and the second rank is rice commodities with an average LQ value of (1.05). In East Aceh District there were two leading commodity that have an average growth rate of production above the rate of growth of Aceh Province are soybeans with an average growth rate of production of (10.50). Whereas rice with an average production growth rate of (-2.88). The average growth rate of rice production in East Aceh Regency is below the average growth rate of rice production in Aceh Province.

Abstract

Kakao merupakan komoditi unggulan yang menempati urutan keempat produksi perkebunan Aceh. Rendahnya kualitas produksi dan pengolahan produk masih menjadi kendala utama dalam pengelolaan kakao. Penelitian ini mengkaji strategi pengembangan usaha tani kakao menuju keberlanjutan. Penelitian dilakukan di Kabupaten Aceh Tenggara dan Pidie Jaya sebagai wilayah sentra produksi utama kakao. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara kepada 352 responden petani. Kekuatan, kelemahan, peluang dan ancaman dianalisis menggunakan SWOT untuk menentukan strategi pengembangan usaha tani kakao. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa skor bobot faktor internal berjumlah 2.98 dan skor bobot faktor eksternal berjumlah 3.70 sehingga usaha tani kakao Aceh berada pada kondisi grow and build. Kekuatan utama usaha tani kakao adalah jumlah produksi yang tinggi, kelemahan utama adalah keterbatasan lahan, peluang utama adalah perkembangan teknologi dan ancaman utama adalah harga kakao yang berfluktuasi. Strategi utama pengembangan usaha tani kakao rakyat adalah pengembangan mutu dan nilai tambah produk, implementasi sertifikasi kakao dan pengembangan kemitraan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat pendapatan usaha tani padi sawah dan menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi produktivitas padi sawah di Kecamatan Siabu kabupaten Mandailing Natal. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Desember 2022 sampai Januari 2023. Metode penelitian menggunakan survai. Lokasi penelitian dipilih secara Purposive sampling berdasarkan Desa/Kelurahan terjauh, sedang, dan terdekat terhadap pusat Kecamatan Siabu (Pusat Utama), masing-masing adalah Desa/kelurahan Sihepeng, Simangambat, dan Siabu. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode Proportional Random Sampling dengan rumus Slovin yaitu sebanyak 97 sampel. Metode analisis data yang digunakan adalah Total Revenue (TR) dan analisis regresi linear berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkaan tingkat pendapatan bersih sebesar Rp.639.742,-dalam satu kali musim tanam (MT), dengan pendapatan kotor Rp.3.772.774,- dan biaya produksi sebesar Rp.3.133.032,- MT. Seluruh variabel penduga secara simultan menunjukkan pengaruh yang signikan terhadap produktivitas padi. Secara parsial, variabel faktor yang berpengaruh nyata secara signifikan terhadap produktivitas yang dianalisis adalah jumlah tenaga kerja, sedangkan variabel jumlah benih, jumlah pupuk dan jumlah pestisida secara signifikan tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap produktivitas padi sawah di Kecamatan Siabu Kabupaten mandailing Natal.

Abstract

Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) merupakan kelompok swadaya yang berasal dari, oleh dan untuk masyarakat dengan jumlah anggota tertentu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi wanita tani terhadap Pemanfaatan Tanah Pekarangan (PTP) dalam menunjang ketahanan pangan. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara sensus yaitu seluruh wanita tani kelompok kembang tani yang aktif memanfaatkan tanah pekarangan sebanyak 30 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa wanita tani kelompok Kembang Tani memiliki karakteristik internal yaitu berumur 55 tahun (33%) dengan pendidikan formal SD (40%), memiliki jumlah anggota keluarga 1 4 orang (74%) dengan pendapatan Rp.500.000 1.000.000 (67%), memiliki luas lahan pekarangan 500 m2 (70%) dengan curahan waktu pemanfaatan 5 jam/hari (70%), dan kekosmopolitan termasuk dalam kategori rendah (97%) sedangkan motivasi termasuk dalam kategori tinggi (100%). Karakteristik eksternal seperti intensitas penyuluhan dan suasana kelompok termasuk dalam kategori tinggi (100%) sedangkan ketersediaan sarana dan produksi termasuk dalam kategori sedang (53%). Tingkat persepsi wanita tani kelompok Kembang Tani terhadap pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan dalam menunjang ketahanan pangan tergolong sangat baik dengan pencapaian skor 4.2.Women Farmers Group (KWT) is a self-help group originating from, by and for the community with a certain number of members. This study aims to determine the perceptions of women farmers on Utilization of Yard Land (PTP) in supporting food security. The sampling technique was carried out by means of a census, i.e. all female farmers in the farmer's group who actively used their yard land were 30 people. The results showed that female farmers in the Kembang Tani group had internal characteristics, namely aged 55 years (33%) with formal elementary school education (40%), had a family of 1 4 people (74%) with an income of IDR 500,000 1,000. 000 (67%), have a yard area of 500 m2 (70%) with an outpouring of utilization time 5 hours/day (70%), and cosmopolitanness is included in the low category (97%) while motivation is included in the high category (100% ). External characteristics such as the intensity of counseling and group atmosphere are included in the high category (100%) while the availability of facilities and production is included in the medium category (53%). The level of perception of female farmers in the Kembang Tani group regarding the use of yard land in supporting food security is classified as very good with a score of 4.2.Keywords: Farmer Women's Group, Perception, Utilization of Yard Land, Food Security

Abstract

Price is one of the most important factors that determines success of a company. It is crucial because the company should set up the price for products to calculate the magnitude of profit that the company receives. To determine the price of a kitchen recipe that is produced in Mutiara Subdistrict, it is necessary to analyze the factors that greatly influence the sale of the product. Therefore, the objective of this research is to analyze several factors that influence the sale of Gunung Salju kitchen recipe in Mutiara Subdistrict Pidie Regency. The research is conducted in Mutiara Subdistrict Pidie Regency. Purposive method is used to determine the research location with consideration that such location is one of the locations that produces and sells the kitchen recipe of Gunung Salju in Mutiara Subdistrict. The objects of this research is that the consumers that consume the product. Non Probability Sampling method, where every member in a population does not have the same probability to be a sample, is used as a method to collect the research sample. In this research, population is those who buy and consume one of the kitchen recipes produced by Gunung Salju. Then, we take 50 people that represent the population to be the sample. The result shows that price, quality and selling location significantly influence the sale of Gunung Salju kitchen recipe in Mutiara Subdistrict Pidie Regency. The F value is greater than F table. Therefore, the independent variables significantly influence the dependent variable.
