Abstract

Internet use is currently growing rapidly in many aspects of life; education, economy, social life, politics and culture. The needs and rapid developments in the use of the Internet network require a balance provision of Internet connection. In fact, connectivity is not always run smoothly because of low bandwidth capacity and network traffic increases. These problems cause network connection interrupted and data lose. Load balancing system is one of the solutions to get a better quality of internet service. Using more than one different ISP (Internet Service Provider) which is then balanced with load balancing system, can make the traffic run optimally, maximize throughput, minimize response time and avoid overload on any of the connection lines. This system worked by distributing the traffic load on two or more connection lines in a balanced way so that traffic can run optimally. By using load balancing system, when the internet is interrupted, then there will be a backup. This study focuses on implementing backups from Internet network sources or backups from dependency on one Internet service provider. The method used in this study is a case study. The instrument used is an observation at the Benteng Village Office in Ciamis. The process started by selecting the right ISP source to be used as a backup. Then continued with the Mikrotik installation and the application of load balancing in Mikrotik. The next steps are testing of the load balancing system which is carried out by technical testing of the implementation. The process includes testing the speed, the function, and optimization of the load balancing. The result shows that the use of load balancing system can be applied optimally. When network traffic increases due to the distribution of balanced connection lanes, it can run without changing the existing network and makes the connection run more optimal.

Abstract

Elections in Indonesia are held every five years. Election organizers are divided into two groups: the permanent General Election Commission (KPU) and the temporary (Ad Hoc) committees (PPK, PPS, KPPS), and the Pantarlih (General Election Committee). These committees serve only during the election process and can then be selected at the next level. The Pantarlih (Voter Data Update Committee) is responsible for verifying and scrutinizing voter lists to ensure their accuracy. The KPPS (Voting Organizing Group) is responsible for collecting and counting votes at polling stations (TPS). Currently, the PPS still manually recruits Pantarlih and KPPS members in Majingklak Village. The selection process involves direct coordination with the local hamlet head to directly select members based on subjective assessments. This creates problems, as registration information is not widely disseminated, leading to social jealousy in the community, and selected members do not meet the criteria. To address this issue, a web-based recruitment system is needed for Pantarlih and KPPS members. The results of this study are a blueprint for the recruitment of Pantarlih (Election Committee) and KPPS (Election Working Group) members using the Zachman Framework, which includes four planning stages: Scope/Contextual, Business Process, System Model, and Technology Model. This system is expected to provide solutions to problems in the recruitment process for Pantarlih and KPPS members and assist the PPS in decision-making to select qualified Pantarlih and KPPS members.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to design a web-based library information system to make it easier for librarians to manage data and for library users to find book collections. Previously, the library still used separate Microsoft Excel spreadsheets for all administration. This non- integrated system leads to inefficient services, such as slow information retrieval, the risk of data errors, and difficulty for library users in finding book availability. To solve this problem, the author used the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method to build a web-based application with PHP and MySQL. The result is an integrated library website that makes administrative management more efficient and accurate.

Abstract

Effective CO2 sequestration (SC) in rehabilitated tropical forest depends heavily on species performance and competition dynamics. This study evaluates SC potential and interspecific competition of native lowland forest tree species in Bedegung Biodiversity Park, South Sumatra, Indonesia―an area rehabilitated since 2014 through collaboration between the South Sumatra Provincial Environmental Service, National Gas Company (PGN), and IPB University. Despite the rehabilitation efforts, early planting did not consider the planting distances (Lij), impacting tree density (Dx) and individual competition index (CIi)―factors directly influencing SC. From 2020 to 2023, monitoring of tree diameter, height, and Lij data collected within a 60 × 20 m permanent plot revealed a decline in Dx from 900 ind ha–1 in 2020 to 725 ind ha–1 in 2023, primarily due increased competition. The site’s average SC reached 69.91 tCO2 ha–1 y–1, lower than mature tropical forests due to stand age. Among all species, Bayur (Pterospermum javanicum) exhibited superior SC performance, sequestering 10.02 ± 6.98 tCO2 ind–1 y–1―well above the mean―and showing increased resilience, indicaed by 1/CIi from 0.62 to 4.38. These results highlight Bayur’s exceptional role in SC under competitive pressure. For enhanced SC outcomes, management interventions such as thinning, fertilization, remove the weeds, and removing dead trees are urgently recommended. Prioritizing species with high SC potential and adaptive performance, like Bayur, is essential for optimizing carbon gains in forest rehabilitation programs.

Abstract

At SMK LPS 1 Ciamis, electricity management is still carried out manually. This often leads to issues such as inaccurate recording and delayed monitoring, making it difficult to control electricity usage and increasing the risk of waste. This study develops an Electric Energy Usage Monitoring and Controlling Application Based on the Internet of Things (IoT) to monitor and control electricity consumption in real-time. The development method used is Rapid Application Development (RAD) to speed up the design and implementation process. IoT devices automatically collect electricity consumption data and send it to a centralized server, removing the need for manual recording. The system displays real-time, accurate usage data and provides a remote control feature to switch devices on or off via an internet connection. Testing results show that the system can monitor electricity usage in real-time, reduce potential recording errors, and simplify the data analysis process. The remote control feature allows users to manage electricity usage from anywhere, helping to prevent waste when devices are not in use. This system also encourages greater awareness of more responsible electricity use in the school environment.
