Abstract

The development of material-based glucose sensor SiO2-CuO using Screen Printed Carbon Electrode (SPCE) had been done. Three types of materials were used to detect glucose, i.e Multi Wall Carbon Nanotube (MWCNT)-SiO2-CuO, SiO2-CuO (A) dan SiO2-CuO (B). The differences composition of SiO2-CuO(A) and SiO2-CuO(B) occurred during the addition of NaOH in synthesis process of SiO2-CuO (B). The prepared materials were analyzed by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), cyclic voltammetry method and chrono-amperometry. Cyclic voltammetry analysis was conducted at a potential range of -1.0 - 1.5 V with Ag/AgCl as reference electrode. The scan rate was 100 mV/sec and the potential was varied at (-0.6), (-0.5) and (-0.4) V, in which the duration of each analysis was 5 second. Based on the result of analysis, whether by SEM, cyclic voltammetry and chrono-amperometry, the SiO2-CuO (B) was found to be the best material for detection of glucose.

Abstract

Kolom monolith berbasis polimer organik poli-(lauril metakrilat-co-etilen dimetakrilat) disintesis secara in situ kopolimerisasi dalam kolom silicosteel dengan ukuran panjang 10 cm dan diameter dalam 1,02 mm. Kolom monolith ini digunakan untuk pemisahan alkilbenzena secara Kromatografi Cair Kinerja Tinggi (KCKT) fasa terbalik. Pada penelitian ini, efisiensi pemisahan ditingkatkan dengan menggunakan kolom monolith poli-(LMA-co-EDMA) untuk memisahkan senyawa alkilbenzena melalui tiga parameter, yakni temperatur kolom, pemisahan secara isokratik dan pemisahan secara gradien. Temperatur kolom yang digunakan berkisar antara 27–50 °C. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa temperatur optimum untuk pemisahan alkilbenzena secara isokratik yaitu 27 °C yang setara dengan temperatur ruang dengan fasa gerak asetonitril-air (50:50 w/w). Pemisahan alkilbenzena yang lebih efisien ditunjukkan dari penggunaan mode gradien ditandai dengan nilai peak capacity, faktor retensi dan jumlah plat teoritis yang lebih baik. Fasa gerak yang digunakan pada pemisahan secara gradien yaitu pelarut A yang terdiri atas asetonitril-air (40:60 w/w) dan pelarut B yang terdiri atas asetonitril-air (60:40 w/w)  dengan waktu gradien 20–40 menit 0–100% B. Perubahan waktu gradien berpengaruh terhadap faktor retensi dan peak capacity.Evaluation of Organic Polymer-Based Monolithic Column by High Performance Liquid Chromatography for The Separation of Alkyl Benzenes. Organic polymer-based monolithic column of poly(lauryl methacrylate-co-ethylene dimethacrylate) has been prepared by in- situ copolymerization inside of silicosteel column with the size of 100 mm long x 1.02 mm i.d. This kind of monolith column used for separation of alkylbenzenes using reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The efficiency separation on this research is improved by using poly-(LMA-co-EDMA) monolithic column for separation of alkyl benzene compounds using three strategies involving optimization column temperature, isocratic elution mode, and gradient elution mode. The applied column temperatures were varied in the range of 27–50 °C. It was found that room temperature in isocratic mode with the mobile phase of acetonitrile-water (50:50 w/w) showed the excellent efficiency indicated by baseline-resolved of each peak of alkyl benzenes. The resulted separation efficiency by employing gradient elution mode exceeded its counterpart (isocratic mode), which is indicated by better in peak capacity, retention factor, and number theoritical plate. Two different mobile phases for gradient elution mode, composed of A that contain of acetonitrile-water (40/60 w/w) and B that contain of acetonitrile-water (60/40 w/w) were utilized in the range of 20-40 min for 0-100% B. It was found that increasing gradient time strongly affect to the retention factor and peak capacity.

Abstract

Potentiometric urea biosensor development is based on urea hydrolysis by urease resulted CO2. The biosensor is used chitosan membrane and the H3O+ electrode as a transducer. The research was studied of effecting pH and membrane thickness to the biosensor performance. The best biosensor performance resulted at pH = 7.3 and 0.2 mm of membrane thickness. The biosensor has a Nerntian factor 28.47 mV/decade; the concentration range is 0.1 up to 6.00 ppm; and the limit of detection is 0.073 ppm. The response time of this biosensor is 280 seconds, efficiency 32 samples and accuracy 94% up to 99%.

Abstract

The iodate-selective electrode based on the principle of precipitation reaction could be made by coating the platinum wire with silver iodate (AgIO3). In this research was carried out optimization the iodate-selective electrode using chitosan membrane as an AgIO3 support. The AgIO3 were added in the 2 mL 1% chitosan solution, is 0.5 to 2.5 % (w/v). The thickness of the membrane used is 6 to 12 µm. The electrode cell potential is measured against Ag/AgCl electrode as a reference electrode. The optimum electrode performance was at 2.0 % of AgIO3 with thickness a membrane of 10 µm. The iodate-selective electrode has a Nernstian factor is 52.96 mV/decade and a response time of 10 seconds. The concentration range was determined from 10-3 M to 10-1 M and the detection limit is 1.12 x 10-5 M.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang isolasi selulosa dari jerami padi menggunakan variasi konsentrasi basa. Pada penelitian ini dipelajari tentang pengaruh basa dan variasi konsentrasinya dalam isolasi selulosa dari jerami padi. Kajian pengaruh basa dan konsentrasi dilakukan dengan melarutkan ekstrak jerami padi pada NaOH dan KOH dengan variasi konsentrasi 1%, 3%, 5%, 7% dan 9% dan kemudian dilakukan analisis IR terhadap selulosa hasil isolasi serta dihitung rendemen selulosa dan lignin sisa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada isolasi selulosa dari jerami padi digunakan NaOH 7% dengan rendemen selulosa yang diperoleh sebesar 33,63% dengan lignin sisa sebesar 2,42%.Kata kunci : isolasi, selulosa, lignin sisa

Abstract

Pembuatan elektroda selektif ion iodat (ESI-Iodat) dapat dibuat menggunakan garam iodat yang sulit larut dalam air, seperti AgIO3, Pb(IO3)2 dan Ba(IO3)2 sebagai bahan aktif. Elektroda tersebut didasarkan pada prinsip kesetimbangan kelarutan. ESI iodat dibuat dengan melapisi batang grafit atau Pt oleh garam iodat dalam membran kitosan. Kinerja ESI iodat terbaik dihasilkan pada elektroda dengan Ba(IO3)2 sebagai bahan aktif. Konsentrasi Ba(IO3)2 yang menghasilkan kinerja ESI terbaik adalah 0,5% (b/v) pada ketebalan 0,09 mm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ESI iodat memiliki waktu respon 30 detik, bilangan Nernst 57,08 ± 0,62 mV/dekade, batas deteksi 1,5 x 10-4 M (26,25 ppm) M dan kisaran konsentrasi 1×10-4 M hingga 1×10-1 M. Ion klorida menurunkan kinerja ESI iodat jika konsnetrasinya lebih besar dari 1×10-2 M. Kata kunci : ESI-Iodat, membran kitosan, barium iodat.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang pengaruh konsentrasi ammonia dalam proses pembentukan kompleks Au(NH3)2+. Tahapan dalam penelitian ini yaitu proses pelarutan serbuk emas dalam larutan ammonia pada beberapa konsentrasi ammonia dan kemudian diukur besarnya konsentrasi emas yang terlarut yang menunjukkan jumlah kompleks Au(NH3)2+ yang terbentuk. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi ammonia optimum pada proses pembentukan kompleks Au(NH3)2+ sebesar 7 M dengan jumlah Au terlarut sebesar 0,618 ppm. Kata kunci : kompleks Au(NH3)2+, ammonia.

Abstract

A tube type mini electrode has been made to detect paracetamol levels in herbal medicine, the electrode is made of a glass tube with a diameter of 0.7 cm, a length of 3 cm. As the membrane is a mixture of chitosan, activated carbon from rice husk, and cetyl trimethyl ammonium (CTA)-paracetamol. The internal solution is a standard solution of 0.01 M paracetamol in a solution of phosphoric acid pH 2. The average sensitivity of the paracetamol sensor is (22.60 ± 0.01) mV/decade in a linear concentration range of 10-6 – 5x10-3 M, with an average recovery of (90.6 ± 0.5) %. Paracetamol sensor electrodes can be applied to samples of herbal medicine on the market, with an average error of (9.4 ± 0.1) %.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to study the effect of the percentage of the addition of conductivity material in phosphorylation starch to modify GCE (glassy carbon electrode) for detection of Cr(VI). In this study, the technique used is DPV (Differential Pulse Voltammetry). The conductivity material used in this study is activated carbon and Fe3O4 nanoparticles. The method used is an optimization of conductivity material in phosphorylation starch and determination of the performance of the obtained sensor. The optimum percentage of conductivity materials, both activated carbon and Fe3O4 nanoparticles, in the phosphorylation starch matrix is 5%. The form of amorphous activated carbon and the structure trigonal of Fe3O4 nanoparticles affects the current of Cr(VI). The addition of conductive material increases the current of Cr(VI) and shifts the peak potential to the left. The performance of PSC1 sensor is a detection limit of 5,09 ppm and sensitivity of 0,2098 ppm/µA in the linear concentration range of 2,6 – 15,6 ppm. However,  the performance of PSN1 sensor is the detection limit of 3,48 ppm and sensitivity of 0,2120 ppm/µA in the linear concentration range of 2,6 – 18,2 ppm.

Abstract

Keterbatasan alat dan bahan praktikum merupakan permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh guru kimia di SMK. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kreativitas guru SMK dalam mengatasi masalah tersebut. Guru SMK diberikan pembinaan praktikum pengenalan analisis kualitatif skala mikro. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dalam beberapa tahap, yaitu tahap persiapan, tahap pelaksanaan, dan tahap evaluasi. Tahap persiapan terdiri atas penyusunan diktat praktikum, persiapan alat dan bahan percobaan, pembuatan video praktik, serta pembuatan kuesioner. Tahap pelaksanaan berupa praktikum analisis kualitatif skala mikro dengan empat topik. Tahap evaluasi dilakukan dengan cara menilai tugas presentasi dan mengolah kuesioner berisi tanggapan peserta. Analisis data tersebut dilakukan secara deskriptif. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilaksanakan pada tanggal 27 Juni 2022 hingga 20 Agustus 2022. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peserta dapat mendemonstrasikan praktikum pengenalan analisis kualitatif skala mikro dan kegiatan telah berlangsung dengan baik. Setelah mengikuti kegiatan ini, peserta dapat mengembangkan materi praktikum skala mikro sesuai kondisi di sekolah masing-masing sehingga keterbatasan alat dan bahan dapat diatasi.Chemistry teachers in vocational high schools face challenges due to practicum equipment and chemical limitations. The objective of this community service is to increase the creativity of vocational high school teachers in addressing this issue. Participants have enrolled in a practicum on microscale qualitative analysis. Preparation, implementation, and evaluation were the three stages of the activity. Making a practicum module, getting chemicals and equipment ready for experiments, filming practical videos, and creating questionnaires were all part of the preparation process. The implementation step was delivered as a four-topic microscale qualitative analysis practicum. The evaluation step was completed by evaluating the presentation tasks and descriptively analyzing the participants' questionnaire responses. The community service was performed between June 27th and August 20th, 2022. The results showed that participants could demonstrate microscale qualitative analysis. The community service was performed well. Following the community service, participants can create micro-scale practicum material based on their schools' conditions, overcoming equipment and materials limitations.
