Abstract

This research is an experimental study that aims to determine the effect and optimum concentration of shelland head of white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) on reducing hypercholesterolemia in mice (Mus musculus). This study consisted of 4 treatment groups: P0 (hypercholesterol feed mixed with 0% shrimp shell and head flour),P1 (hypercholesterol feed mixed with 5% shrimp shell and head flour), P2 (hypercholesterol feed mixed with 7%shell and shrimp head flour), and P3 (hypercholesterol feed mixed with 9% shell and shrimp head flour). Theresearch method consisted of the manufacture of hypercholesterolemic feed, the manufacture of shell and shrimphead flour, the manufacture of test animal feed, treatment of test animals, and measurement of cholesterol levels.Data were analyzed using One Way ANOVA and Duncan's test. The average value of initial cholesterol levels inthe P3 treatment group was very significantly different from the P0, P1, and P2 treatment groups. The mean valueof final cholesterol levels in the P2 treatment group was significantly different from P0 and significantly differentfrom P1 and P3. The optimum concentration was 7% (P2) which was able to reduce hypercholesterolemia in mice(Mus musculus) by 0.29%.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase in activity, motivation and student learning outcomes through the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in class X MIPA 1 at SMA Negeri 8 Gowa on the subject of Biology Scope. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which consists of 2 cycles. The subjects in this study were students of class X MIPA 1 at SMA Negeri 8 Gowa. The type of research instrument used was an observation sheet on learning activities and a test of learning outcomes in the form of a multiple choice test of 30 items for each cycle on the Scope of Biology material. The data obtained were analyzed by descriptive statistics. The results showed that (1) there was an increase in the biology learning activity of class X MIPA 1 students at SMA Negeri 8 Gowa, namely classically from 48.31% increased to 63.68%; (2) there was an increase in biology learning outcomes for class X MIPA 1 students at SMA Negeri 8 Gowa, from 48.6% of students who completed to 94.3%. These results indicate that the application of the Problem Based Learning model can increase the activity and learning outcomes of students in class X MIPA 1 students at SMA Negeri 8 Gowa.

Abstract

Domestic cats (Felis catus) have different behavior patterns from other animals. This behavior is described in 10 behavioral patterns, namely ingestive behavior, sexual behavior, eliminative behavior, investigative behavior, agonistic behavior, allelomimetic behavior, protective seeking behavior, epimeletic behavior, et-epimeletic behavior and maladaptive behavior. This behavior occurs naturally or because it is taught to cats. This study was conducted to find out the ten behavioral patterns in cats that were studied through a literature study or literature review by looking for sources related to the behavior of domestic cats. Thus, the results obtained that cats have specific behavior patterns in the ten behavioral patterns

Abstract

The research aims to produce healthy broiler meat consumed, produce rations that are ideal for broiler chickens, so that the fat and cholesterol levels of meat can be reduced as low as possible, and know the duration of ration restriction on the percentage of carcasses, meats, fat levels and cholesterol of broiler chickens. This research consists of two interrelated phases, the results of Phase I will be continued in Phase II. This research took place at the Faculty of Animal Science, Hasanuddin University. Phase I used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 6 replications: A0 (control): Ration without addition of seaweed flour; A1: Ration with Addition of Seaweed Flour 3%; A2: Ration with Addition of Seaweed Flour 5%; A3: ration using 7% seaweed flour. The data obtained were analyzed by complete random design analysis followed by the F test at a precision level of 5%. The results showed that the treatment with the use of seaweed flour up to 7% level significantly affected the levels of meat fat, but did not affect the body weight, the percentage of abdominal fat, cholesterol, LDL (Low Density Lipoprotein), HDL (High Density Lipoprotein) and triglyceride. Complete randomized design analysis followed by the F test at a precision level of 5%.
