Abstract

The purpose of this research is to improve the cursive handwriting skill through drill learning method of the students in 2nd grade of SDN Soropadan No. 108 Surakarta. Classroom action research was used for this study, which was conducted over the course of two cycles. Every cycle had two meetings. Students in 2nd grade of SDN Soropadan No. 108 Surakarta was the subject of this research. They were 32 total students. The data was collected by observation, interview, test, and documentary. The data validity was using  content validity, source triangulation and technique triangulation. The data analysis was using interactive analysis model. According to research results, the students in 2nd grade of SDN Soropadan No. 108 Surakarta saw an improvement in their cursive handwriting skills. When compared to the minimum guaranteed score of 75, the pre-action average for the cursive handwriting skills test was 57.03, with a classical completion rate of 16%, or as many as 5 out of 32 students. In the first cycle, the average value was 75.4, with a classical completion rate of 56%, or 18 out of 32 students, being successful. In the second cycle, the average value increased to 85.77, with classical completeness reached 84%, or 27 out of 32 students successfully completed. The conclusions in this research is cursive handwriting skill can be improved through drill learning method of the students in 2nd grade of SDN Soropadan No. 108 Surakarta.

Abstract

Teacher self-efficacy is the ability to believe in controlling or mastering certain situations. The level of self-efficacy of elementary school teachers will affect their work. This study aims to uncover study trends related to primary school teacher self-efficacy over the last three decades by using bibliometric analysis. The Scopus database was used to collect articles that matched the criteria, eventually yielding 164 articles from 1994–2022. The results showed that "self-efficacy" was the most widely used keyword in article publications, while the researchers focused on teacher self-efficacy in elementary schools. Turkey, Australia, and China are the countries that produce the most publications in this field. The journals that produce the most publications are the International Journal of Inclusion and Egitim ve Bilim. Betoret f.d, Palmer d, and De Veve d are the authors with the highest number of citations. Based on the results of this analysis, it shows that "self-efficacy, teacher self-efficacy, and inclusive education" are the most recently used keywords in the article. The results of this study indicate that in addition to well-known countries that discuss teacher self-efficacy in primary school education, this study also needs to be carried out in other developing countries. It is suggested that developing countries can develop research in this area and that teacher self-efficacy should be more focused on teacher self-development and teacher confidence when teaching.

Abstract

Plastic waste is a serious problem in Indonesia because plastic cannot be decomposed naturally and can have a negative impact on the environment and public health. Then the 3R principle is applied, namely Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. This socialization activity will focus on the principle of Recycle (recycling) through ecobrick in the village of Shoulder RT 04 RW 07 Jati, Jaten District, Karanganyar Regency. Ecobrick itself is a creative effort to manage plastic waste into useful objects that have use value and sale value, reducing pollution and toxins caused by plastic waste. Making ecobrick does not require special skills and only requires a lot of money because it uses household waste plastic as the main material. The purpose of holding the socialization in Pundak Village RT 04 RW 07, Jati, Jaten District, Karanganyar Regency is to overcome plastic waste and provide an understanding of how to recycle plastic waste using the ecobrick method. The methods used in this ecobrick socialization are questionnaires, lectures, and demonstrations. The result of this socialization is a decrease in the amount of untreated plastic waste which is related to the greater awareness of residents in the Village of Pundak RT 04 RW 07, Jati, Jaten District, Karanganyar Regency in waste management.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of guided inquiry based on local wisdom on students' practical thinking skills  in grade IV elementary school. The type of research used is the experiment with the Pretest Posttest Only Group Design. The instruments used are tests and observations and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the model of guided inquiry based on local wisdom is effective for improving critical thinking skills in the theme of sciences class IV elementary school rather than guided inquiry models. This is evidenced by the results of the mean value of guided inquiry models based on local wisdom rather than guided inquiry models (76.55 > 67.94), there is a significant effect of students' critical thinking skills between the model of guided inquiry based on local wisdom and the guided inquiry model. This is evidenced by the results of t count > t table (2.757 > 2.002) and smaller significance value with a significance level of 5% (p = 0.010 > 0.05).

Abstract

The study on the Implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum at elementary school, reveals a positive overall readiness and commitment among teachers to adapt to changes in the learning approach. Through interview analysis, it is evident that teachers comprehend the Merdeka Belajar concept and are prepared to embrace the new curriculum, emphasizing creativity and innovation. Significant obstacles arise from differences with the previous curriculum, notably in project-based learning assessments, necessitating deeper understanding and additional training. The assessment aspect analysis indicates effective implementation of formative and authentic assessments by teachers. However, challenges linked to the lack of understanding among teachers and parents about the Merdeka Curriculum, particularly Merdeka Belajar, may impact curriculum goal achievement. Consequently, concerted efforts are required to improve parental understanding and support, along with additional training for teachers regarding assessment within the Merdeka Curriculum context. The curriculum encourages teachers to design more engaging and interactive learning experiences, granting students the freedom to choose subjects and unlocking opportunities to explore talents and potentials in various fields.

Abstract

Javanese script is very important for students to learn and understand, because Javanese script is a local wisdom culture that must be preserved in order to protect the nation's language culture so that it does not become extinct through the use of regional languages such as the use of Javanese script as a means for carrying out verbal and written communication and as a cultural expression.The aims of this study were: (1) to analyze the increase in Javanese script literacy skills and (2) to describe the increase in Javanese script literacy in terms of critical thinking skills. This is mixed methods research with a sequential explanatory strategy. The research sample consisted of fifth-grade students from Tegalsari Public Elementary School and Mangkuyudan Public Elementary School. Data gathering was conducted through the utilisation of tests, interviews, and documentation. From the findings and deliberation, the researchers are able to deduce the subsequent conclusions: (1) The proficiency in Javanese script among fifth-grade students in elementary schools improves following the implementation of script media by teachers. (2) Proficiency in critical thinking is closely correlated with the ability to read and write in Javanese script. The amount of critical thinking skills accounts for 39.3% of the variation in students' literacy skills in Javanese script, leaving 60.7% to be attributed to other factors. Students who possess advanced proficiency in Javanese script literacy exhibit a pronounced inclination towards critical thinking. Students who possess a moderate level of proficiency in Javanese script literacy demonstrate either high or medium levels of critical thinking abilities. Students who possess limited proficiency in Javanese script exhibit either moderate or poor levels of critical thinking abilities. According to the findings of this study, the researchers suggest that teachers in primary schools utilise script cards in order to facilitate effective learning activities and enhance students' proficiency in Javanese script as well as their critical thinking abilities.

Abstract

This study explores the challenges faced by elementary school teachers in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum. In the era of globalization, education is becoming increasingly complex, emphasizing not only academic aspects but also the adaptability of graduates to the changing world. The aim of this research is to determine the challenges faced by teachers and the readiness of teachers in implementing the independent curriculum. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach to investigate the preparedness of elementary school teachers in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and document analysis. The evaluation of readiness encompasses indicators such as understanding the curriculum structure, planning, the learning process, module preparation, and assessment. Triangulation techniques ensure data accuracy. The findings reveal that teachers exhibit good readiness in planning and conducting lessons aligned with the Merdeka Curriculum. They comprehend the curriculum's principles and actively engage in developing lesson plans following the prescribed standards. Despite this positive outlook, challenges arise in terms of understanding and integrating key concepts, utilizing technology, and adapting assessment methods.

Abstract

Penelitian Tindakan kelas ini didasarkan pada rendahnya hasil belajar peserta didik dalam mata Pelajaran matematika tentang bangun datar. Hal ini disebabkan oleh kurang keberagaman model pembelajaran yang digunakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik dengan menerapkan model Problem Based Learning (PBL). Subjek penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas IV-B SDICT Al Abidin Surakarta. Penelitian ini dilakukan menurut model Kemmis & Taggart. Proses pembelajaran berlangsung dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Data penelitian diperoleh dari teknik tes dan nontes. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata persentase ketuntasan belajar data pra-siklus mencapai 21%, kemudian meningkat pada siklus I menjadi 50%, pada data siklus II mencapai 75%. Berlandaskan penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran problem based learning dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika peserta didik kelas IV SDICT Al Abidin Surakarta.

Abstract

Keterampilan membaca dan pemahaman literasi merupakan kompetensi terpenting di era digital, sehingga pengembangan media interaktif berbasis kearifan lokal merupakan strategi yang potensial untuk meningkatkannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis potensi pengembangan media interaktif berbasis kearifan lokal dalam meningkatkan keterampilan membaca. Metode yang digunakan adalah Systematic Literature Review (SLR) dengan pendekatan PRISMA, menggunakan artikel yang diambil secara acak dari jurnal Q1-Q4 yang terindeks di penerbit Elsevier (ScienceDirect). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan membaca, keterlibatan yang lebih baik dalam pembelajaran, dan respon positif siswa terhadap materi yang relevan secara budaya. Penggunaan cerita digital dan komik elektronik berbasis kearifan lokal khususnya menunjukkan hasil yang menjanjikan dalam meningkatkan pemahaman dan minat baca siswa. Namun, implementasi media ini masih menghadapi tantangan yang signifikan, terutama terkait dengan kurangnya pemahaman dan keterampilan guru dalam mengintegrasikan kearifan lokal ke dalam pembelajaran, keterbatasan sumber daya dan infrastruktur, dan kesulitan dalam menjaga relevansi kearifan lokal di tengah perubahan budaya. Untuk mengatasi tantangan tersebut, diperlukan pendekatan yang komprehensif yang mencakup pelatihan guru secara intensif, dukungan infrastruktur yang memadai, dan pengembangan pendekatan holistik dalam mengintegrasikan kearifan lokal ke dalam kurikulum modern. Implikasi dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa semua pemangku kepentingan harus menyadari pentingnya mengintegrasikan kearifan lokal dalam pengembangan media interaktif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan membaca, serta perlunya strategi yang tepat dalam merancang dan mengimplementasikan media dalam proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

Model project based learning menjadi bagian penting dalam proses pembelajaran berdasarkan “Kurikulum Merdeka” di sekolah dasar. Fokus pembelajaran pada “Kurikulum Merdeka” di tingkat sekolah dasar yakni terletak pada kebebasan untuk belajar mandiri, sehingga  diharapkan berdampak pada karakter yang merdeka pada diri siswa. Tujuan penulisan artikel ilmiah ini untuk mengidentifkasi dan mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan model project based learning dalam pembelajaran ilmu pengetahuan alam dan sosial bagi siswa sekolah dasar. Metode yang digunakan dalam artikel ini yakni studi pustaka tentang pelaksanaan pembelajaran ilmu pengetahuan alam dan sosial dengan project based learning. Pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model project based learning memiliki beberapa keunggulan, diantaranya siswa dapat memahami bernagai fenomena alam dan sosial di lingkungan mereka berdasarkan teknik eksperimen dan pengalaman empiris selama pembelajaran, mereka bisa menyelesaikan proyek yang mengharuskan mereka mencari solusi atas tantangan alam, seperti tata cara menjaga lingkungan dengan saling bekerja sama. Dengan demikian, implementasi model ini memiliki dampak pengiring seperti keterampilan komunikasi dan kolaborasi yang menuntun siswa mulai dari perencanaan hingga penyelesaian masalah. Oleh karena itu, guru perlu memiliki kesiapan mengajar dan pemahaman matang sebelum menerapkan model ini dalam pembelajaran IPAS.
