Abstract

Background: Zakat management in Indonesia faces significant challenges despite its potential as a powerful instrument for poverty alleviation and sustainable development. Low community awareness in channeling zakat through official institutions, coupled with the persistence of traditional distribution models such as personal giving and 'kyai kampung' practices, has hindered the optimal utilization of zakat as a socio-economic tool. This study aims to describe zakat management patterns in Indonesia, map sustainable development models through zakat management, and analyze these models from the perspectives of Antonio Gramsci and Hassan Hanafi. Method: This research employs a literature review approach with secondary data sources. Data analysis utilizes Gramsci's hegemony theory and Hassan Hanafi's At-Turats wa At-Tajdid framework to critically examine zakat management practices and their potential for sustainable development. Results: The findings reveal three key results. First, zakat management by official institutions remains suboptimal due to low public awareness, with personal distribution and local religious leader models still prevailing. Second, sustainable development models have not positioned zakat as a primary instrument, remaining largely conceptual rather than fully implemented. Third, Gramsci's hegemony theory suggests that sustainable development through zakat requires cultural and ideological struggle to transform zakat into a societal way of life, while Hanafi's reform framework emphasizes the need to reinterpret zakat's role beyond religious obligation toward economic self-reliance. Conclusion: Zakat-based sustainable development must be pursued through cultural and ideological transformation, positioning zakat not merely as a religious duty but as a strategic social and economic instrument for building a just and sustainable society.

Abstract

Abstract

Halal is present as a form of demand from consumers for the safety and health of the products consumed. Producers must capture the trend of this consumer behavior model as a business opportunity. So, all producers through the Law on Halal Product Guarantee No.33 of 2014, whether they understand it or not. From this, it is necessary to analyze the relationship between producer religiosity as a basis for making decisions on halal certification and the producer's knowledge and understanding regarding halal products. This study also aims to explore the relationship between religiosity, producer knowledge and understanding of halal products on certification decisions. This study uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive type. The results of this study state that if the variables of religiosity, producer knowledge and understanding of halal products are tested partially, they have no relationship with halal certification decisions by producers, but once these three variables are tested simultaneously have an impact on halal certification decisions by producers. It means that producers deciding on halal certification are not impacted by the level of religiosity, producer knowledge and understanding of halal products they have.

Abstract

Marriage at a young age places adolescent couples in household and parenting roles before their psychological maturity, knowledge, educational attainment, and economic independence are fully developed. This study aimed to describe the factors underlying young-age marriage and to analyze its implications for parenting practices in Potugu Village, Momunu District, Buol Regency. A qualitative descriptive field-research approach was employed. Data were collected through observation, interviews with young couples, parents, and village officials, and documentation. The analysis involved data collection, reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. Data credibility was strengthened through source and method triangulation, prolonged observation, and peer discussion. The findings indicate that the couples married between the ages of 14 and 19. Contributing factors included personal preference, premarital sexual relations, low educational attainment, inadequate family supervision, economic pressure, and parental acceptance of marriage proposals before the children completed school. In parenting, some couples lacked sufficient knowledge and skills to care for, protect, and educate children according to their developmental needs. Emotional immaturity was reflected in anger, shouting, pinching, or hitting when children cried or were difficult to manage. The couples also relied on parents or parents-in-law for bathing, feeding, and caring for their children.

Abstract

Halal certification has become an increasingly important issue for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia, particularly as social media platforms such as TikTok are widely used to disseminate information about halal products. This study aims to examine how TikTok content frames the issue of halal certification and how such framing shapes the perception of MSME actors toward the importance of certification. Using a qualitative approach grounded in Entman's framing theory, this research analyzes a purposive sample of TikTok videos discussing halal certification together with in-depth interviews involving MSME actors in the Jember area. The findings indicate that TikTok content tends to construct three dominant frames, namely an educational frame that emphasizes procedural knowledge, a religious-authority frame that links certification to religious obligation, and an economic-opportunity frame that highlights certification as a competitive advantage. These frames were found to significantly influence MSME actors' awareness, trust, and motivation to pursue halal certification, although disparities in digital literacy still constrain the depth of understanding gained from short-form video content. The study concludes that strategic and easily digestible framing on social media can accelerate halal certification literacy among MSMEs, while also highlighting the need for more structured digital education to complement informal social media exposure.

Abstract

One of the interesting phenomena of social change to discuss is the matter of clothing style (fashion trends). Initially, Indonesian people only wore Islamic clothing at certain moments, such as events related to religion. However, today society tends to prioritize material interests above all else, even above religion. Transformation in society is often based on dissatisfaction with certain aspects of life. One of the transformations that occurs and is very visible is the evolution of changes in clothing fashion. This is in line with the rapid development of technology which is followed by several developments, including in this case the development of clothing styles. We cannot avoid this development, aligning an existing development is a necessity that needs to be done, but even so there are sharia rules that have been finalized and must be obeyed by Muslims in full. There have been various fatwas issued by scholars, but it seems that these fatwas are often ignored. "Islam's view of changes in fashion trends in Indonesia", views that this change is caused by the social situation of modern society which no longer prioritizes religion in the first position but they place material interests higher than everything else, including in this case religion.
