Abstract

There are so many problems found in the process of maintaining and increasing the production of oil palm plants. That is the benchmark for the success or failure of these plants. So far weeds are one of the most important problems because weeds interfere with the main crops during their growth and development. Many problems and losses are caused by the presence of weeds in an area if allowed to grow uncontrollably. Therefore, so that these weeds do not cause more serious problems, it is necessary to control weeds. This research is carried out. Every research is expected to be useful for all parties who read it and those who are directly involved in it.This study aims to determine the Effectiveness and Efficiency of weed control on immature plants both manually and chemically as seen from the comparison of control time, cost analysis, work performance, weed mortality rate and regrowth rate from manual and chemical weed control. The method used in this study is to use descriptive analysis method. FromThe results of this study indicate that chemical weed control is more effective and manual weed control is more efficient.

Abstract

Oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) is an oil-producing plantation crop that is a source of non-oil and gas foreign exchange in Indonesia This research was conducted in October-November 2022, the location of this research was carried out in the Batee Puteh plantation, Afdeling 1, West Aceh Regency. The data used in this study used primary data and secondary data. The sampling technique in this study used the saturated sampling method, which is a sampling technique when all populations are used as samples. The results of the data questionnaire were first carried out Validity Test, Normality Test and Multicollinearity Test. The analysis used in this research is multiple linear regression analysis to determine the relationship and influence of harvest premiums (Y) on work quality (X1), work quantity (X2), and attendance (X3). The results showed that the factors that influence the harvest premium on PT ASN oil palm harvest employees based on the t test table 0.05 (1.692) showed an influence on the variable X1 work quantity, X2 work quality where t count was smaller than the table. While the X3 attendance variable does not show an influence where t count is greater than t table. Based on the regression output, the R2 value is 0.622, meaning that the effect of the harvest premium can be explained well through the regression model built in this research by 62.2%.

The majority of the people make their living as farmers. This research aims to analyze the supporting factors for the development of compost fertilizer in Sumber Bakti Village. The primary data collection method was to conduct interviews with 30 respondents using a prepared questionnaire and information obtained from Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Data analysis in this study used the SWOT method and weighting using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). The research results show the highest score on internal factors (Strengths) Production costs are relatively cheap with a total score of 0.34 Internal Factors (Weaknesses) It takes a long time to make compost fertilizer with a total score of 0.55 External Factors (Opportunities) Demand for compost fertilizer is increasing 0.36 External Factors (Threats) Unpredictable weather hampers the production process with a total score of 0.64. Defensive strategy is the right strategy to implement. Some of these strategies are; Equipping production facilities and infrastructure so that the quality of raw materials is maintained and reducing production costs, as well as increasing the quantity and quality of compost production in accordance with Indonesian National Standards (SNI).

Therefore, it is necessary to formulate a strategy in the development of Siamese orange cultivation. In identifying development strategies can be done with SWOT Analysis (Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats), with the SWOT Matrix will make it easier to formulate various strategies that need or must be carried out. The results of the study found that a progressive strategy is a strategy that is in accordance with the conditions in the field. Progressive strategies can be achieved through 1) increasing product quantity, 2) Online Marketing, 3) Building partnerships with local markets, 4) Making innovations in the production process and 5) Making good risk management in the development of Siamese Orange farming.
