Abstract

Pesticide and chemical fertilizer usage in rice farming is known to deteriorate soil and environment.  Organic rice farming is developed.  However, there are not many farmers who cultivate organic compared to nonorganic rice. The objectives of this research are to analyze the cost, production, the income of organic and nonorganic rice farming, and to explore the benefits of organic rice farming. This research was conducted in Pringsewu Regency in August 2015.  The sampling method employed was a census on 30 farmers cultivating organic rice in two villages, and simple random of 30 farmers cultivating nonorganic rice.  Data were analyzed using farming analysis and descriptive qualitative.  The results showed that organic rice production (6,587 kg per ha) was lower than nonorganic rice production (6,630 kg per ha in two planting seasons).  The production cost of organic rice farming was higher (Rp39,011,679.00 per ha) than that of nonorganic rice farming (Rp30,326,937.00 per ha in two planting seasons).  Income of organic rice farming was higher than nonorganic, Rp50,759,725.00 and Rp24,454,808.00 respectively.  Organic rice farming was more profitable than nonorganic rice farming with the R/C on the total cost of organic rice farming of 2.30 and nonorganic rice farming of 1.81.  The B/C was 3.03.  In addition to economic benefit, farmers of organic rice obtained social benefits such as providing job field and farmer groups’ activity.  Environmental benefits that were obtained by farmer were reducing dependence on chemicals and creating a secure work environment for farmers. Abstract

This research aims to analyze the production efficiency of ginger farming, factors affecting technical efficiency of ginger farming, and income of ginger farming in Penengahan Subdistrict of South Lampung Regency.  This research uses a survey method and the location was chosen purposively at Way Kalam Village, Penengahan Subdistrict of South Lampung Regency with consideration that the location is the central of ginger production.  The samples were 83 ginger farmers who were selected randomly.  Data were collected in April – Mei 2016 and were analyzed using descriptive and quantitative analyses, namely frontier production function, multiple linear regression, and income analysis.  The results showed that ginger farming in Penengahan Subdistrict of South Lampung Regency was not technically efficient because the efficiency has only reached 63%. The factors that influence significantly in technical efficiency of ginger farming were scale farming, cost, revenue, and risk. Ginger farming in Penengahan Subdistrict South Lampung Regency was a profitable farming with the R/C value of 1.51 and income of Rp21,405,070.20 per hectar. Key words: frontier production function, ginger farming, technical efficiency

Abstract

This study determine the role of women and the factors that influence gender equality in mustard vegetable farm households.  The research method uses a quantitative approach with a survey method with research locations in Pekon Campang, Gisting District, Tanggamus Regency. The site selection was done purposively, with the consideration that the location was the center of vegetables in Tanggamus Regency. The number of respondents were 30 samples. The data used are primary data and secondary data. Data analysis uses the Harvard gender equality approach.The level of gender equality in mustard farmer households is measured through an activity profile approach which includes 1) the division of reproductive work, 2) the division of productive work, and 3) the division of social work and the profile of access and control of resources and benefits which include: 1) the level of equality in access to resources, 2) level of equality in access to benefits, 3) level of equality in control of resources, and 4) level of equality in control of benefits. The study was conducted in August to September 2019. The results of the study illustrate that in general women in mustard farmer families in Pekon Campang already have equality with men in domestic, farming, public / social activities with gender responsive classification. This can be seen from the participation of women in various activities both domestic, farming, and the public even though the Pekon Campang community adheres to a patriarchal culture but still pays attention to the role of women in various activities carried out both domestic, farming, and the public. Factors affecting gender equality in mustard farmer households include socio-cultural factors, beliefs, economic needs and community perceptions of the division of labor in the household and farming. Keywords: gender, mustard farming, trust, patriarchy, and farm household ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran perempuan dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kesetaraan genderdalam rumah tangga petani sawi.   Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan dengan metode survey dengan lokasi penelitian di Pekon Campang Kecamatan Gisting Kabupaten Tanggamus.Pemilihan lokasi dilakukan secara sengaja (purposive), dengan pertimbangan bahwa lokasi tersebut merupakan sentra sayuran di Kabupaten Tanggamus.Jumlah responden sebanyak 30 sampel.  Data yang digunakan adalah data primer dan data sekunder.Analisis data menggunakan pendekatan kesetaraan gender model Harvard.  Tingkat kesetaraan gender dalam rumah tangga petani sawi diukur melalui pendekatan profil aktifitas yang meliputi: 1) pembagian kerja reproduktif, 2)  pembagian kerja produktif, dan 3)  pembagian kerja sosial serta profil akses dan kontrol terhadap sumberdaya dan manfaat yang meliputi : 1) tingkat kesetaraan dalam akses terhadap sumberdaya, 2) tingkat kesetaraan dalam akses terhadap manfaat, 3) tingkat kesetaraan dalam kontrol terhadap sumberdaya, dan 4) tingkat kesetaraan dalam kontrol terhadap manfaat.Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Agustus hingga September 2019.  Hasil penelitian memberikan gambaran bahwasecara umum perempuan pada keluarga petani sawi di Pekon Campang telah memiliki kesetaraan dengan laki-laki dalam aktivitas domestik, usahatani,publik/sosial dengan klasifikasi responsif gender. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari partisipasi perempuan dalam berbagai kegiatan baik domestik, usahatani, dan publik meskipun masyarakat Pekon Campang menganut budaya patriarki tetapi tetap memperhatikan peran perempuan dalam berbagai kegiatan yang dilakukan baik yang bersifat domestik, usahatani, dan publik.  Faktor-faktor yang memperngaruhi kesetaraan gender dalam rumah tangga petani sawi meliputi faktor sosial budaya, kepercayaan, kebutuhan ekonomi dan persepsi masyarakat terhadap pembagian kerja dalam rumah tangga dan usahatani. Abstract

This research aims to analyze the impact of climate change on the productivity of rice farming businesses, know the knowledge, attitudes, and adaptability to climate change, and present a review and criticism analysis for product updates related to climate change. The study respondents numbered 100 rice farmers in Lampung Province. The processed data is analyzed by using descriptive statistics, using Crosstabs analysis to calculate the frequency and percentage of two or more variables at once while to see the influence of farmer behavior is using path analysis. The results of this study showed that the impact of climate change greatly affects rice farming businesses which leads to a decrease in the productivity of farmers' rice farming businesses. The lack of knowledge of farmers about climate change and the attitude of farmers in dealing with climate change are great concern, but in the follow-up to curiosity and problem solving tends to be less, this is due to farmers less enthusiastic in determining the attitude of climate change. The level of adaptation of farmers to climate change only occurs when determining planting time, so it needs to increase the power due to climate change. Recommendations from these results, among others, related to regulations that require renewal. This update obtained two perspectives, namely the legal perspective and the perspective of the development of the climate issue itself.

Abstract

The success of rice farming which has high productivity and is able to meet people's food needs is largely determined by farmers as business actors. The behavior of farmers in farming is not only related to cultivation efforts, but also includes the contribution of farmers in group institutions which hopefully provide a lot of support for rice farming activities. The aims of this study are: 1) analyzing the institutional support for farmer participation. 2) analyzing the participation of healthy rice farmers. 3) analyzing the sustainability of healthy rice farming. 4) analyzing the institutional support for the level of farmer participation. 5) analyzing the effect of farmer participation level on the sustainability of healthy rice farming in Rejo Asri Village, Seputih Raman District, Central Lampung Regency. This study uses survey method with the respondents in this study amounted to 50 healthy rice farmers. The research location was chosen purposively and used quantitative descriptive analysis methods with Multiple Linear Regression Test and Simple Linear Regression Test. The results showed that the role of the extension agent affected farmer participation, while the indicators of the leadership of the farmer group leader and access to information did not affect the participation of healthy rice farmers. The second objective shows that the level of farmer participation at the planning stage is included in the moderately participating category, at the implementation, benefit-taking, and evaluation stages are included in the very participating category. The third objective of the sustainability of healthy rice farming in this study is included in the very sustainable category. The fourth objective shows that the role of the extension worker affects the level of farmer participation, while the indicators of the leadership of farmer group leaders and access to information do not affect the level of participation of healthy rice farmers. The fifth objective is the influence of the level of farmer participation on the sustainability of healthy rice farming in Rejo Asri Village, Seputih Raman District, Central Lampung Regency with an r-square value of 0.553.

Abstract

Pemerintah merekomendasikan budidaya tanaman sehat yang berjalan tanpa adanya kendala/ permasalahan. Petani menghadapi permasalahan umum dalam budidaya tanaman sehat ini salah satunya adalah harga. Label sehat pada produk ini menjadikan label harga yang cukup tinggi.  Petani padi sehat di Desa Rejo Asri melaksanakan usahatani padi sehat dengan banyak tantangan. Tantangan tersebut mulai dari jumlah produksi padi konvensional yang masih lebih banyak daripada padi sehat.  Tujuan penelitian ini mengetahui Bagaimana inovasi padi sehat dalam budidaya usahatani padi sehat di Desa Rejo Asri Kecamatan Seputih Raman Kabupaten Lampung Tengah. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Desa Rejo Asri Kecamatan Seputih Raman Kabupaten Lampung dengan responden sebanyak 50 petani padi sehat.  Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan.  Hasil penelitian inovasi padi sehat menguntungkan petani dari segi ekonomi. Inovasi padi sehat sesuai dengan nilai sosial budaya, kebutuhan, dan pengalaman masa lalu. Petani mudah melakukan, mencoba, dan mengamati hasil budidaya padi sehat.

Abstract

Kabupaten Pesawaran sebagai salah satu daerah yang melakukan pembangunan dalam upaya meningkatkan minat masyarakat terhadap pengelolaan UMKM. Pelaku UMKM Kabupaten Pesawaran saat ini masih belum mengoptimalkan penggunaan teknologi sebagai salah satu sarana penjualan produk. Hal ini perlu diantisipasi agar pelaku UMKM mampu bersaing. Salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan masyarakat pelaku UMKM dalam penggunaan teknologi adalah dengan melaksanakan pelatihan digital. Pelaksanaan pelatihan yang akan dilakukan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan pelaku UMKM handycraft di Kabupaten Pesawaran memiliki beberapa tahapan antara lain sosialisasi, pendampingan dan evaluasi. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi yang dilakukan, didapatkan bahwa 83% peserta pelatihan merasa kegiatan pelatihan yang diberikan sangat bermanfaat sedangkan 17% lainnya berpendapat bahwa kegiatan ini bermanfaat, sehingga tidak ada peserta pelatihan yang tidak merasakan kebermanfaatan kegiatan yang dilakukan. Sebanyak 75% peserta pelatihan memiliki pengetahuan yang sedikit sebelum adanya pelatihan, sedangkan 25% lainnya dikategorikan cukup berpengetahuan. Setelah adanya kegiatan pelatihan, pengetahuan peserta yang tergolong sangat tinggi yaitu 50% sedangkan 50% lainnya dikategorikan cukup berpengetahuan.

Abstract

Pesawaran merupakan salah satu kabupaten yang memiliki UMKM cukup besar. Selama satu tahun pandemi 2019-2020, jumlah UMKM terus mengalami peningkatan sebesar 1058 UMKM dalam setahun. Hal ini mendorong upaya untuk meningkatkan perluasan pasar melalui pelatihan digital. Pelatihan digital akan memudahkan UMKM dalam menaikkan tingkat permintaan produk yang dihasilkan. pelatihan digital yang akan dilakukan pada masyarakat pengrajin tapis di Negeri Katon, Pesawaran diharapkan mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan dan juga keterampilan pengrajin dalam menggunakan aplikasi digital seperti media sosial dan juga marketplace sebagai upaya meningkatkan penjualan produk. Metode yang dipilih dalam upaya meningkatkan daya saing pelaku UMKM adalah metode PLA (Participatory Learning and Action) yang dilakukan dengan pembelajaran kepada masyarakat secara patisipatif atau melibatkan masyarakat dalam segala kegiatan pemberdayaan yang akan dilakukan. Pelatihan dilakukan secara berkala kepada semua anggota kelompok yang ada di UMKM Tapis Desa Negeri Katon, Kabupaten Pesawaran. Sejumlah 83% responden menilai konten penjualan sebagai konten yang informatif , 17% menilai konten sebagai sesuatu yang biasa saja. Mayoritas responden yaitu sebanyak 63% yang menilai produk yang dihasilkan tergolong baik dan 3% lainnya menilai produk yang dihasilkan kurang bagus. Sebanyak 68% responden tertarik untuk membeli produk tapis, 3% lainnya merasa tidak tertarik.

Abstract

Labuhan Maringgai adalah sebuah kecamatan di Kabupaten Lampung Timur dengan wilayah pesisir yang cukup luas sehingga menjadikan masyarakat Labuhan Maringgai bermata pencaharian sebagai nelayan. Pengolah ikan di Kecamatan Labuhan Maringgai Kabupaten Lampung Timur sebagian besar masih menjalankan usaha yang sederhana. Pengolah belum mampu menghasilkan variasi produk hasil olahan, kelompok pengolah belum mampu menjalankan manajeman usaha dengan baik, kurang mampu memahami dinamika dalam kelompok, dan masih rendah dalam pemanfaatan teknologi informasi dalam pemasaran online. Kegiatan pemberdayaan masyarakat merupakan salah satu alternatif untuk meningkatkan pendapatan dan kesejateraan anggota kelompok pengolah. Pengabdian bertujuan membantu peningkatan kapasitas pengolah ikan dalam mengoptimalkan usaha olahan ikan sebagai usaha sumber pendapatan. Kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan dengan dua metode, yaitu metode pelatihan dan pendampingan pada anggota dan pengurus Kelompok Pengolah Ikan Margasari Pekon Labuhan Maringgai. Evaluasi dilakukan secara formatif melalui pre-test yang akan direkapitulasi dan dihitung selisihnya untuk digunakan sebagai acuan dalam menilai pemahaman serta pengetahuan peserta pelatihan. Kegiatan pemberdayaan yang dilakukan dinilai mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat tentang pengelolaan, kualitas mutu dan branding produk. Hal ini dicerminkan oleh hasil pre-test dan post-test yang mengalami peningkatan yaitu 57,33% menjadi 72%.

Abstract

ishermen are one part of the community members who have the lowest level of welfare. The COVID-19 pandemic is an event that causes the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 around the world. The pandemic has caused global socio-economic disruption, the postponement or cancellation of sporting and cultural events, and widespread concern about stock shortages driving panic buying. A household is said to have food security if its inhabitants are not in a state of hunger or feel threatened by hunger. The linkages between the lives of coastal communities and fishermen in Lampung Province are quite concerning, coupled with the COVID-19 pandemic requiring special treatment to improve their welfare and standard of living, one of which is by increasing food security for coastal communities and fishermen. The most appropriate effort is to carry out a post-COVID-19 Pandemic Food Security Strategy modeling for Coastal Community and Fisherman Households in Lampung Province. The research was carried out from April to September 2022 in Labuhan Maringai subdistrict, East Lampung Regency. Sampling was done purposively. The data collected from the survey results have been analyzed statistically descriptive and inferential. The level of food security for the respondent's family is in the moderate category, meaning that the respondent can provide, reach and use it quite well but not optimally. The community has not been able to ensure that the food security component can run consistently at any time. This happens because the income of fishing households is very unpredictable, this can also determine the ability of the family to provide food. The influence of the education level of a housewife has an indirect effect through her nutritional knowledge. Food knowledge has a more direct influence on food security, meaning that the knowledge of housewives related to food is the basis for action in realizing food security at the family level.
