Abstract

The research aims to analyze the obligations of orthodontists in independent practice regarding waste management and their legal responsibilities for environmental pollution caused by the waste from orthodontic treatment materials. The study focuses on the legal responsibilities of orthodontists in managing waste to prevent pollution arising from the disposal of materials used in orthodontic treatments. This research employs a legal research method with a statutory approach and a conceptual approach. The results of the study indicate Independent practice orthodontists, in addition to working to provide health services and as managers of independent practices, have a legal obligation to manage the waste of orthodontic treatment materials produced in accordance with applicable regulations in Indonesia. the obligation to manage the waste produced includes the obligation to reduce, sort, temporarily store and cooperate with other parties for waste transportation and treatment. Independent practice orthodontists are legally responsible for environmental pollution arising from the impact of poor management of orthodontic treatment material waste, where legal responsibility includes administrative responsibility if independent practice orthodontists intersect with the problem of violation of permits and waste management procedures. Civil law liability, namely in the form of compensation and recovery of damage to the aggrieved party, and criminal law liability, namely if the orthodontist commits an unlawful act.

Abstract

Pain is an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience resulting from tissue damage. Pain is a multidimensional sensory experience. These phenomena can differ in intensity (mild, moderate, severe), quality (blunt, burning, sharp), duration (transient, intermittent, persistent), and spread (superficial or deep, localized or diffuse). The use of analgesics as pain medication has been widely used by the community. the use of NSAID class analgesics is more often used. However, long-term use has side effects such as cardiovascular and gastrointestinal complications. People prefer traditional medicine as an alternative. Traditional medicine has been used by the people of Indonesia since the time of the kingdom, the struggle for independence, until the development and progress to date, one of the traditional medicines is ciplukan. The ciplukan plant is known as a plant that has many uses. One of them is ciplukan leaves which contain alkaloids and flavonoids. In this study, the analgetic activity test of Ciplukan Leaf Ethanol Extract was carried out in mice using the Siegmund method, considering that part of the ciplukan leaf is a waste that is rarely used, it is hoped that the utilization of cilukan leaf can contribute to environmental sustainability in addition to its potential in analgesic treatment. Ciplukan leaves were studied in Swiss Webster mice at doses of 10, 25, 50 mg/KgBW using the Siegmund method to determine their analgesic activity. The comparison drug used was Ibuprofen 50/70 kgBB, mice were induced intraperitoneally with 1% acetic acid. After 30 minutes of drug administration according to treatment, then observed every 5 minutes every 60 minutes. The observation results showed that all doses had analgesic activity with the most effective dose being 50 mg/KgBB.

Abstract

The detection of high impedance faults (HIFs) plays a crucial role in modern active distribution systems to prevent risks like equipment failures, fire incidents, and disruptions in service, while maintaining a stable power supply. HIFs are challenging to detect due to their low-magnitude and fluctuating fault currents, often falling below the detection thresholds of conventional protection mechanisms. These undetected faults can result in significant safety hazards, economic losses, and compromised system reliability. This study presents an enhanced HIF detection method leveraging differential energy indicators derived from positive-sequence current components during fault events. The proposed approach improves fault detection accuracy and discriminates HIFs from nonfault transients, including load switching, capacitor switching, and nonlinear load effects. The method was validated through simulations on adapted IEEE-13 and IEEE-34 bus systems distribution networks with high distributed generation (DG) penetration. Results demonstrated faster response times (

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Islamic financial literacy and trust on savings decisions at Bank Muamalat KCP Stabat. The method used is quantitative research with data collection techniques through the distribution of questionnaires to 78 respondents who are active customers for at least 6 months. The collected data were tested for validity, reliability, normality, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity, then analyzed using multiple linear regression with the assistance of statistical software. The results of the study indicate that Islamic financial literacy has a significant positive effect on savings decisions, meaning that the better customers' understanding of Islamic financial principles and products, the higher their tendency to choose Islamic savings. Trust also has a significant positive influence on savings decisions, indicating that customers' confidence in the bank's security, transparency, and compliance with Islamic principles is an important factor in determining their choice. Together, these two variables explain 50.1% of the variation in savings decisions, while the remaining variation is influenced by other factors such as income, education level, and service convenience. These findings have practical implications for Bank Muamalat KCP Stabat to enhance its Islamic financial literacy education programs through outreach, easily understandable information media, and improved service quality to strengthen customer trust. This study is limited to one branch and uses a survey method, so further research is recommended to expand the sample, add related variables, and use a mixed-method approach for more comprehensive results. Abstract

Indonesia is uniquely positioned among the countries in the world where most of the land consists of tropical forests. Besides Haiti and the Bourbon Pacific, Indonesia is among the three largest producers of vetiver oil in the world. Garut Regency is the center of vetiver oil production in Indonesia. Vetiver root (Vetiveria zizanoides L. Nash), is known to contain terpenoid compounds that have antioxidant bioactivity, especially ?-vetivena, ?-vetivenon, and ?-vetivenon compounds. Phytochemical screening is a way to determine the content of secondary metabolites in a natural material. This study aims to determine the content of secondary metabolites in vetiver essential oil from Garut Regency. This research is qualitative in nature using a descriptive design of laboratory experiment method. The vetiver essential oil produced by the steam distillation method was tested for secondary metabolite content using thin-layer chromatography by looking at the stains that appeared on the chromatogram and the Rf value of the tested compounds. Secondary metabolite compounds tested include alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, steroids, terpenoids, and saponins. Vetiver essential oil contains steroid compounds characterized by the onset of blue stains with an Rf of 0.9 and terpenoid compounds characterized by the onset of bright blue stains with an Rf of 0.54.
