Abstract

Rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik dalam pembelajaran IPAS menuntut inovasi model kooperatif yang adaptif terhadap teknologi digital. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dan efektivitas model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Numbered Heads Together (NHT) berbantuan media Canva AI terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik kelas V SDN se-Gugus Cempaka Kecamatan Sukoharjo dibandingkan dengan model Think Pair Share (TPS) berbantuan media Canva pada mata pelajaran IPAS . Penelitian eksperimental berdesain pretest-posttest control group ini melibatkan 61 peserta didik kelas V di Gugus Cempaka, Sukoharjo, yang dipilih melalui cluster random sampling. Kelompok eksperimen menerapkan model NHT berbantuan Canva AI, sementara kelompok kontrol menggunakan model TPS berbantuan Canva. Data kemampuan berpikir kritis diukur melalui instrumen tes yang tervalidasi dan dianalisis menggunakan uji statistik inferensial, N-Gain, serta Cohen's d untuk menguji signifikansi dan efektivitas perlakuan . Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT berbantuan Canva AI secara signifikan lebih unggul dibandingkan model TPS berbantuan Canva dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik (Sig. < 0,05). Selain itu, model NHT berbantuan Canva AI terbukti lebih efektif dengan kategori peningkatan (N-Gain) yang signifikan serta effect size Cohen's d yang tergolong efek  besar .

Abstract

This research is a descriptive qualitative study with a single case study approach. This research was conducted because there are many errors in handwriting skills. This study aims is to analyze errors in handwriting skills in 2nd grade students of SD Negeri Tunggulsari 1 No. 72 Surakarta academic year 2018/2019. The sample is determined by purposive sampling technique with certain considerations and objectives. The research data was collected through interviews, observation and documentation which were then analyzed based on indicators. Error analysis is carried out based on indicators of writing error and the aspect. The results of this study found that writing errors consist of letter formation errors, spacing errors between letters and words, slant consistency errors, size and proportion, legibility, and neatness of handwriting by 2nd grade students. The most mistake is found in the formation, size and propotion, and also the error of spacing between letters and words. While errors in legibility, neatness and consistency of writing slant are rarely found in the work of students.

Abstract

The purpose of  research is improve problem solving skills in the stories matter by using the Probing – Prompting Learning (PPL) models. This research is Classroom Action Research with two cycles. The subjects of this research were students of IV  class at SD Negeri Tegalrejo in the 2019/2020  academic year, totaling 24 students. This research uses data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observations, tests, and documentation with data analysis of source triangulation and technique triangulation. The analysis of the data used is the interactive analysis model of Miles-Huberman. The initial conditions of problem solving skills of IV class students showed 25%  classically. The cycle resulting in a percentage of  54,16% in classical, and the study continued with the second cycle with the percentage of 75% in classical terms. Based on the result of the research, it can be conclude that the ability to solve water cycle problems on IV students of SD Negeri Tegalrejo  in the 2019/2020 academic year can be improved through the Probing – Prompting Learning models.

Abstract

Abstract. This research is the action class with the purpose to increase understanding the concept of Indonesian cultural diversity with the implementation AIR learning model. In the AIR model, students work in groups. AIR learning model is Auditory, Intellectually, and Repetition. The data collection techniques make use of observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. Before applying the AIR learning model in class IV, comprehension of the concept Indonesian culture diversity the childrens was very low. it can be seen from the percentage of students completeness 15% or 17 students getting grades less than KKM. Solution to this problem is implementation of the AIR learning model two cycles. In the first cycles, this score understanding the concept of Indonesian cultural diversity increased to 45% or 9 students get a score up to KKM. And then in cycle II, it increased again to 90% or 18 students get a score up to KKM. Based on the data, it can be concluded,the application of the AIR learning model can be to increase understanding the concept of Indonesian culture diversity in the fourth grade, student of Jatipurwo elementary school II academic years 2019/2020.

Abstract

Conceptual understanding of social interaction in IPAS learning at the elementary school level requires students to integrate and apply concepts meaningfully. The low level of conceptual understanding observed in the field is suspected to be closely related to learning creativity and academic self-efficacy, which have not yet been studied in an integrated manner. This study aims to examine the relationship between learning creativity and academic self-efficacy and conceptual understanding of social interaction material, both partially and simultaneously, among fifth-grade students in public elementary schools across the Serengan District of Surakarta. The study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. A sample of 123 students was selected through cluster random sampling from four schools: SDN Kratonan, SDN Kawatan, SDN Slembaran, and SDN Joyotakan. Data were collected using a Likert scale questionnaire and multiple-choice tests, then analyzed using simple and multiple correlation tests. The results showed that learning creativity (r = 0.375) and academic self-efficacy (r = 0.476) each had a positive and significant relationship with conceptual understanding, and simultaneously, both produced a correlation coefficient of 0.584 (Sig. = 0.000). The stronger simultaneous relationship compared to the partial relationships demonstrates that learning creativity and academic self-efficacy complement each other in fostering deep and meaningful conceptual understanding. These findings imply that teachers need to design learning experiences that simultaneously encourage learning creativity and build academic self-efficacy as a strategy for enhancing conceptual understanding in a more effective and meaningful way.

Abstract

The integration of 21st-century skills, such as critical thinking, collaboration, and digital literacy, into elementary science education remains suboptimal. Preliminary observations in Purwantoro indicate that traditional teaching methods dominate, with limited use of interactive media, restricting the development of essential student competencies. This study addresses the need for innovative learning tools by exploring the potential of Smart Apps Creator (SAC) in enhancing IPAS (science and social studies) education. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were gathered from five elementary school teachers through interviews, observations, and document analysis, meanwhile, the data analysis technique in this research uses descriptive analysis techniques. Findings reveal that SAC-based media effectively meet teachers’ needs by providing interactive features that promote engagement and independent learning. However, challenges such as limited infrastructure and teacher training were identified. The study underscores the significance of aligning educational practices with the demands of the digital era by integrating interactive media into the curriculum. It highlights the role of SAC in fostering 21st-century skills, offering practical recommendations for professional development and curriculum enhancement. It is hoped that the results of this research will have implications for innovative and technology-based learning as a step to accommodate learning in elementary schools more optimally.

Abstract

Based on the observation, it is known that IPAS learning in class IV B SD Negeri Bratan I Surakarta has low activeness so that learning becomes less interactive. This class action research aims to increase the activeness of students through the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model and the Diversity Map learning media. The research was carried out in two cycles, each of which consisted of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection stages, with the research subjects being 29 students of class IV B. The data collection techniques used were observation and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the application of the Problem Based Learning learning model with the Diversity Map learning media at SD Negeri Bratan I Surakarta class IV B can increase the activeness of students in IPAS subjects. The activeness of students in the pre-cycle was 20.68%, increased to 51.72% in cycle I, and increased again to 82.76% in cycle II. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of Problem Based Learning learning model with Diversity Map media is effective in increasing the activeness of students in IPAS learning in class IV B SD Negeri Bratan I Surakarta.

Abstract

Penggunaan model pembelajaran Predict Observe Explain (POE) relevan dan efektif dengan pembelajaran sains. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh model pembelajaran POE terhadap keterampilan proses sains pada materi cahaya dan sifat-sifatnya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode eksperimen dengan desain penelitian yaitu pretest-posttest control group design. Pelaksanaan penelitian ini dilakukan pada kelas V SDN di Kota Surakarta. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah cluster random sampling subjek penelitian sebanyak 91 orang peserta didik. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes berbentuk soal pilihan ganda sebanyak 10 soal berdasarkan indikator keterampilan proses sains. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji hipotesis dan uji N-gain. Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan, diperoleh hasil melalui uji Mann-Whitney bahwa nilai Asymp. Sig. (2- tailed) sebesar 0.000 lebih kecil dari nilai probabilitas 0.05. Oleh karena itu, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa “Ha diterima”, dan didukung dengan analisis N-gain yang diperoleh sebesar 0,51 dengan kategori sedang. Hal demikian dapat dikatakan bahwa ada perbedaan atau pengaruh keterampilan proses sains yang diajarkan melalui model pembelajaran Predict Observe Explain lebih baik dibandingkan dengan model pembelajaran konvensional. The effect of the Predict Observe Explain learning model on science process skills in elementary school Abstract: The use of the Predict Observe Explain (POE) learning model is relevant and effective for science learning. This study aims to determine the effect of the POE learning model on science process skills on the material of light and its properties. The research method used is the experimental method with the research design, namely, the pretest-posttest control group design. The implementation of this research was carried out in grade V SDN in Surakarta City. The sampling technique used was cluster random sampling of research subjects, with as many as 91 students. The data collection technique was carried out with a test in the form of multiple-choice questions as many as 10 questions, based on indicators of science process skills. The data analysis technique used was hypothesis testing and the N-gain test. Based on the research conducted, the results obtained through the Mann-Whitney test show that the value of Asymp. Sig. (2-2-tailed) The value of 0.000 is smaller than the probability value of 0.05. Therefore, it can be concluded that ‘Ha is accepted’, and supported by the N-gain analysis obtained of 0.51 in the medium category. Thus, it can be said that there is a difference or influence of science process skills taught through the Predict Observe Explain learning model, better than the conventional learning model.

Abstract

Pendidikan karakter memiliki peran penting dalam pembentukan kepribadian peserta didik di sekolah. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi tantangan dan peluang dalam pelaksanaan pendidikan karakter di sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif, dilaksanakan di SD Gugus 3 Kecamatan Polokarto, Kabupaten Sukoharjo, dengan melibatkan 18 guru sebagai partisipan. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, Focused Group Discussion (FGD), dan tinjauan literatur. Analisis data menggunakan model interaktif Miles & Huberman. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa masalah utama pendidikan karakter di sekolah dasar meliputi pemahaman yang kurang oleh guru tentang konsep pendidikan karakter, kekurangan sumber daya, dan dampak negatif dari lingkungan sosial dan media. Sebaliknya, peluang besar masih ada, seperti dukungan kebijakan pemerintah maupun sekolah, partisipasi orang tua, dan inovasi dalam pembelajaran. Kajian ini menemukan bahwa sekolah, keluarga, dan masyarakat dapat bekerja sama dengan baik untuk memberikan pendidikan karakter. Character education in elementary schools: Challenges and opportunities Abstract: Character education plays a crucial role in shaping the personality of students in schools. This article aims to identify challenges and opportunities in implementing character education in elementary schools. This study used qualitative methods and was conducted at Elementary School Cluster 3, Polokarto District, Sukoharjo Regency, with 18 teachers participating. Data were collected through observation, Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), and a literature review. Data analysis used the Miles & Huberman interactive model. This study found that the main challenges of character education in elementary schools include teachers' lack of understanding of the concept of character education, a lack of resources, and the negative impact of the social environment and media. Conversely, significant opportunities remain, such as support from government and school policies, parental participation, and innovation in learning. This study found that schools, families, and communities can work together effectively to provide character education.

Abstract

Educating the characters is the process of giving, integrating and, forming teachers' characters for students. In the implementation of the education of characters in the school, the commitment of all the school's residents is required to implement it in a coherent manner. The study aims to analyse the education of characters in two elementary schools base on six pillars of the character, namely trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship. This research method uses qualitative descriptive which describes the implementation of character education in elementary schools. Data collection methods use interviews, observations, and document analysis. Data analysis involves three steps: data reduction, data presentation, and retrieval. The results of this study indicate that character education related to trust, respect, responsibility, fairness, care, and citizenship, has been implemented through various activities, including classroom learning, extracurricular activities, habituation, and collaboration with the local community. The significance of the effective education of characters can improve the quality of overall education. When students have a good personality, they will learn more easily, will be more disciplined and will be able to work together better in a group.
