Abstract

Background: Nurses faced heightened psychological challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic, with anxiety emerging as a common response to increased workload, high-risk environments, and professional demands. Anxiety may diminish nurses' motivation to work effectively. Objective: This study aimed to determine the relationship between anxiety levels and the work motivation of nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic at Aikmel Public Health Center. Methods: The design study used a quantitative analytical observational with cross sectional approach. The number of samples was 50 respondents obtained by using the total sampling technique. The questionnaire used in this research was the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS) and Multidimensional Work Motivation Scale (MWMS). Statistical analysis used the Spearman Rank test with a 95% confidence level (α = 0.05). Results: Most nurses experienced moderate anxiety, as many as 28 people (56.0%) and most nurses had good motivation as many as 29 people (58.0%). Statistical analysis showed a significant correlation between anxiety levels and work motivation (r = 0.376; p = 0.007). Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between anxiety levels and nurses' work motivation during the COVID-19 pandemic. Lower anxiety levels are associated with higher motivation, suggesting the importance of psychological support for nurses in crisis situations.

Abstract

Background: Pre-school children feel superior, become pretentious, and like to rule (bossy). Bossy is a domineering, controlling and spoiled behavior that occurs in children. Education is the guidance or help provided by adults to the development of children so that they are capable enough to carry out their own life tasks. The role of parents is a set of behaviors of two parents in nurturing, guiding and educating children, as well as being consistent with certain stimuli in teaching children not to foster bossy behavior. Objective: The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship of parental education level and role with bossy behavior in preschool children (3–5 Years). Methods: The design study used a quantitative analytical observational with cross sectional approach. A sample of 40 parents (mothers) was obtained using the total sampling technique. Data collection used a parental role questionnaire and bossy behavior questionnaire. Data analysis using the Spearman Rank statistical test. Results: There was no relationship between parents' education level and the bossy behavior of preschool children with p-value (0.146>0.05); meanwhile, there was a relationship between the role of parents and the bossy behavior p-value (0.000<0.05). Conclusion: This study found no significant relationship between parents' education levels and bossy behavior in preschool-aged children. However, there was a significant and strong correlation between parental roles and bossy behavior. Children raised by parents with good parenting roles were less likely to display bossy behavior. These findings emphasize the importance of active parental involvement and consistent parenting in reducing domineering behavior in early childhood.

Abstract

Background: Stunting is a chronic form of malnutrition caused by prolonged inadequate nutritional intake, leading to impaired growth in children. This condition results in a child’s height being significantly shorter than the standard for their age. The impact of stunting can last a lifetime, affecting cognitive, motor, and verbal development, and may extend to the next generation. Objective: This study aimed to examine the relationship between maternal characteristics and socioeconomic factors with the incidence of stunting among children under five in Palembik Village, within the working area of the Darek Health Center, Southwest Praya District. Methods: This was an analytical study using a cross-sectional design to assess the association between independent variables (maternal characteristics and socioeconomic factors) and the dependent variable (stunting incidence). Data were analyzed using the Chi-square test. Results: Significant relationships were found between several maternal and socioeconomic factors with the incidence of stunting. Maternal age was significantly associated with stunting (p = 0.001), as was maternal height (p = 0.000). Maternal education also showed a significant association (p = 0.002). Among socioeconomic variables, father's education (p = 0.002), father's occupation (p = 0.001), mother's occupation (p = 0.000), and family income (p = 0.000) were all significantly related to stunting incidence. Conclusion: Maternal characteristics including age, height, and education as well as socioeconomic factors such as parental education, parental occupation, and family income, are significantly associated with the incidence of stunting in Palembik Village, Darek Health Center area, Southwest Praya District.

Abstract

Introduction: Code Blue is a hospital system created to overcome the high death rate due to respiratory arrest and cardiac arrest in hospitals. It involves all hospital components, including medical personnel, communication systems, transportation and facilities, and infrastructure. The initial principle of handling cardiac arrest is how nurses can recognize early signs of emergency so that the decision to activate code blue can be made. Knowledge about emergencies is a basic component that nurses must have in making blue activation code decisions. However, in its application, caring for cardiac arrest sufferers carried out by nurses is often still not appropriate. Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between nurses' knowledge of emergencies and the decision to activate code blue. Methods: This research is a quantitative research with an analytical survey method using cross-sectional research. In this study, the non-parametric Spearman rank correlation test was carried out at the. Sampling used total sampling technique and obtained 70 respondents. Results: There is a relationship between nurses' knowledge about emergencies and the decision to activate code blue at with a significant value of p= 0,000 (p < α 0.05), r = 0.601. Conclusion: There is a relationship between nurses' knowledge about emergencies and the decision to activate code blue. Training resuscitation skills and increasing nurses' knowledge through regular training, workshops, or code blue simulations are recommended, especially for patient care units that rarely activate code blue.
