Abstract

Developmental disorders in autistic children are one of the problems that require early detection so that developmental deviations do not occur. This study aims to determine the gross motor conditions of autistic students and children developing at the same age using the TGMD-2 (Test of Gross Motor Development-2) instrument.(Ulrich, 2000). This study uses a quantitative approach using a survey method. Sampling used with purposive sampling technique through certain considerations including age and demographic conditions of the same area. The sample in this study consisted of 10 SLB students and 17 regular students with data analysis techniques in this study using quantitative descriptive. The results of this study indicate that autistic children have a "Very Low" gross motor condition which is generally lower than normal children with the same age range as a reference. The results of this study are expected to help educators and health workers in providing an overview in order to transmit the gross motor skills of autistic children and provide appropriate program in the future.

Abstract

This study investigated high school students motivation and barriers to implementing Physical Education (PE). This study used a descriptive quantitative research survey method involving 300 samples. The instrument utilizes an online motivation questionnaire for data collection. The data is analyzed using percentage analyses. The results of data analysis with indicators of student motivation reveal that the Intrinsic motivation and Identified regulation categories have higher results and identical values, with a value of 23%, and the Amotivation category, with a value of 15%, has lower results among other motivation indicators including intrinsic motivation, identified regulation, introjected regulation, external regulation. The indicator of student barriers shows that the external category has higher results with a value of 54%, and the internal category has lower results with a value of 46%. This research indicates that intrinsic motivation and identified regulation have identical values and are higher than the other motivation categories. It concludes that many students still have the motivation that grows from themselves and pressure from outside to participate in physical education learning. Barriers can also be concluded by examining higher external than internal indicators. This study shows that students have barriers that prevent them from growing outside to participate in educational learning activities.

Abstract

Gross motor skill (GMS) development is crucial for children with autism to increase independence in daily activities, physical fitness, and self-confidence. This study aims to quantitatively analyze the physical features based on GMS of autism spectrum disorder students aged 6-10. The method utilized in this study was a survey with a quantitative descriptive approach. The sampling technique is determined using purposive sampling based on specific considerations in the population. In this study, the total participants are 57 students, consisting of 14 students from SLB Autis Laboratorium UM and 43 from SDN 2 Sumbersari as supporting data. The test instrument operated in this study is the Test of Gross Motor Development-2 (TGMD-2), which assesses the gross motor skills of children aged 3-10 years in locomotor aspects and control objects. The research results on the physical features analysis of gross motor skills aged 6-10 years of autistic students at the SLB Autis Laboratorium UM obtained an inferior category. It impacts student development in daily activities, and consequently, teachers need to rearrange the design of learning programs for autistic students to improve gross motor skills. The teachers should evaluate the effectiveness of programs and interventions that have been implemented

Abstract

This study aims to develop web-based teaching materials using the Google Sites platform for Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) subjects on the material of big ball games (futsal) at SMP Negeri 3 Malang. The development of this product uses the ADDIE model, which includes five stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The validation process involved media experts, material experts, and learning experts, which gave very high validity scores, reaching 98%, 91%, and 92% respectively. In addition, trials conducted on two groups of students, a small group of 12 students and a large group of 30 students, also showed very valid results, with an average score of 92% in both groups. This indicates that the product developed meets the eligibility standards from various aspects, both technically and pedagogically. The results of this study indicate that the web-based learning media product developed has great potential to increase learning effectiveness, support the independent curriculum, and be adaptive to the needs and characteristics of students who are increasingly accustomed to digital technology. Thus, this product is worthy to be implemented in PJOK learning at SMP Negeri 3 Malang, and contributes to the development of innovative technology-based learning media.

Abstract

Patients with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) are increasing daily, requiring appropriate intervention. Martial arts can improve their social, emotional, and executive functioning. This study uses karate martial art to reduce social dysfunction, emotional dysfunction, and stereotyped behavior in children with autism. The Single Subject Research (SSR) method was used with an A-B design that includes two research stages: baseline and intervention stages. Data was collected using a questionnaire adapted from ICD-10 and DSM-IV once a week. The samples used were four children with autism in SLB Lab UM. After training for six weeks, the data were analyzed using the SSR method to present the results in graphical form. The study results illustrated that the emotional, social, and executive functions in children with ASD increased. Karate training can be used as therapy for children with autism to improve and develop their social, emotional, and executive functions. This research has a limited number of involved subjects and needs an extended duration of intervention for future research. This research confirmed that karate could be an alternative therapy to improve the development of students with autism.
