Abstract

ABSTRAK Kader posyandu mempunyai peran penting dalam kegiatan pemantauan status gizi balita. Pengetahuan yang baik tentang gizi dan upaya pencegahan stunting akan membantu kader dalam memberikan penyuluhan kepada masyarakat. Sebanyak 20 kader perlu dibekali dengan pengetahuan tentang gizi dan kesehatan yang baik. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kader Posyandu dalam melakukan pemantauan pertumbuhan dan penyuluhan kesehatan kepada masyarakat sebagai salah satu Upaya pencegahan stunting. Sasaran utama pada kegiatan ini adalah kader posyandu di wilayah Desa Sari Gadung, Tanah Bumbu. Peningkatan kapasitas dilakukan melalui tiga metode yaitu, edukasi, simulasi, dan pendampingan agak kader dapat mempraktikkan secara langsung pengetahuan yang telah diberikan. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dengan menggunakan edukasi, simulasi dan pendampingan. Metode tersebut dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kader posyandu dalam memantau tumbuh kembang balita dan melakukan penyuluhan kesehatan di masyarakat. Kata Kunci: Stunting, Kader, Penyuluhan  ABSTRACT Posyandu cadres play a crucial role in monitoring the nutritional status of toddlers. A strong understanding of nutrition and efforts to prevent stunting can help cadres in delivering education to the community. Approximately 20 individuals need to be equipped with knowledge of good nutrition and health practices. This community service activity aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of Posyandu cadres in monitoring growth and providing health education to the community as part of efforts to prevent stunting. The primary target of this activity is the Posyandu cadres in the Sari Gadung Village, Tanah Bumbu area. Capacity building is achieved through three methods: education, simulation, and mentoring, which empower individuals to apply the knowledge they have acquired directly. The community service activity utilizes methods such as education, simulation, and mentoring. These methods can enhance the knowledge and skills of Posyandu cadres in monitoring toddler growth and conducting health education in the community. Keywords : Stunting, Cadres, Counseling

Abstract

Ngantang merupakan salah satu daerah penghasil durian lokal di Kabupaten Malang, daerah ini memiliki cuaca yang sejuk dengan ketinggian tempat 870 meter diatas permukaan laut. Durian adalah salah satu jenis buah yang memiliki nilai ekonomis dan peluang pasar yang tinggi untuk dikembangkan. Dalam upaya pengembangan usaha agribisnis durian, dukungan akan ketersediaan benih bermutu sangatlah menentukan keberhasilannya. Kelompok tani Desa Kaumrejo menanam durian dengan sistem budidaya seadanya atau bisa dikatakan sangat tradisional dengan asal bibit yang tidak jelas mutunya. Tujuan dari program ini adalah menciptakan petani durian Desa Kaumrejo secara maniri dapat menghasilkan bibit tanaman durian yang unggul dan berkualitas sehingga dapat meningkatkan produktivitas dan berimbas terhadap pendapatan petani durian. Pelatihan dilakukan dengan metode praktik aktif oleh pakar dari Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang, petani diajarkan untuk membuat bibit secara mandiri dengan cara perbanyakan vegetatif yaitu grafting dan okulasi. Dari pelaksanaan program, petani telah mampu menghasilkan bibit durian dengan tingkat keberhasilan 58,33% untuk metode okulasi modifikasi, 40,74% metode grafting V, 53,33% metode okulasi chip, dan 36,36% untuk metode okulasi forkert. Ngantang is one of the local durian-producing areas in Malang Regency, this area has cool weather with an altitude of 870 meters above sea level. Durian is a type of fruit that has high economic value and market opportunities to develop. To develop a durian agribusiness, support for the availability of quality seeds is critical to its success. The Kaumrejo Village farmer group grows durians with makeshift or traditional cultivation with seeds of unclear quality. This program aims to create durian farmers in Kaumrejo Village to independently produce superior and quality durian seeds so that they can increase productivity and impact the income of durian farmers. The training was carried out using active practice methods by experts from UMM. Farmers were taught to make seeds independently through vegetative propagation, namely grafting and grafting. From the implementation of the program, farmers have been able to produce durian seedlings with a success rate for the modified grafting method of 58.33%, the grafting V method of 40.74%, the chip grafting method of 53.33%, and the forkert grafting method of 36.36%.

Abstract

Program "Pendampingan Inovasi Produksi Pupuk Organik Cair Berbasis Urine Sapi pada Petani Nanas Kecamatan Ngancar, Kabupaten Kediri, Jawa Timur" adalah upaya yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pertanian nanas yang berkelanjutan di wilayah tersebut. Program ini mencakup pelatihan, pendampingan teknis, dan sosialisasi penggunaan pupuk organik cair inovatif yang berbasis urine sapi. Melalui pelatihan dan pendampingan teknis, petani nanas diberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan yang diperlukan untuk memproduksi pupuk organik cair dengan bahan-bahan yang mudah ditemukan di wilayah mereka, seperti urine sapi, bekatul, molase, decomposer, dan empon-empon. Hasil produksi pupuk organik cair ini telah membawa peningkatan hasil panen, pengurangan biaya produksi, serta mempromosikan praktik pertanian yang ramah lingkungan. Selain itu, program ini telah berhasil menyebarkan pengetahuan tentang pentingnya pertanian berkelanjutan dan pupuk organik cair melalui seminar, workshop, dan media sosial. Ini memperkuat kesadaran komunitas petani tentang praktik pertanian yang berkelanjutan dan perlunya melindungi lingkungan setempat. Dengan peningkatan hasil pertanian, pengurangan dampak lingkungan negatif, dan peningkatan kesadaran komunitas, program ini memberikan kontribusi positif terhadap kesejahteraan petani nanas dan menjadikan pertanian berkelanjutan sebagai pijakan untuk masa depan yang lebih cerah.

Abstract

In South Kalimantan, the stunting incidence rate in 2022 will be 24.6%, more significant than the national prevalence rate of 21.6%. Tanah Bumbu is one of the districts located in South Kalimantan Province, with the incidence of stunting in Tanah Bumbu district, according to SSGI data, reaching 16.1%. Sari Gadung Village is one of the villages in Simpang Empat District, Tanah Spice Regency. This village has a potentially productive group, namely Posyandu Cadres. Data on the incidence of stunting in Tanah Spice Regency reached 16.1%. Providing health supplements to the community is needed to improve community health in Sari Gadung village and prevent stunting. This community service activity aims to prevent stunting by providing health checks, including checking Hb, glucose, uric acid, and blood pressure, and providing blood supplements. The method is that adult female patients are given drug information regarding the use of iron and folic acid drugs, and then their Hb, glucose, uric acid, and blood pressure are checked. The results of this activity showed that the number of patients who took part in the activity was 37, the average Hb value was 15.9 g/dL, the average uric acid was 8.6 mg/dL, the mean glucose was 112.5 mg/dL, and the blood pressure was 122/82 mmHg. The conclusion is that the results of the health examination at the posyandu in Sari Gadung village are still in the normal category.

Abstract

Lettuce has great potential to be cultivated because it has a short harvest period, a wide open market, and a relatively stable price. The demand for lettuce also continues to increase, but the availability of lettuce stock is still limited. This causes the use of chemical fertilizers to increase. Continuous use of chemical fertilizers can damage soil fertility and the environment. One way that can be applied to support an environmentally friendly cultivation system is the use of liquid organic fertilizer plus cow urine. This liquid fertilizer is made from cow urine and additional ingredients in the form of spices and tobacco. Utilization of cow urine can help increase the economic value of livestock waste. In addition, this organic cow urine plus liquid organic fertilizer also contains nutrients that can help increase plant growth and yields. Additives such as spices and tobacco in fertilizers also help control pests on plants. The method in this study used a one-factor Randomized Block Design with p0 (0%), P1 (5%), P2 (15%), P3 (25%), P4 (35%), and P5 (45%). The results showed that liquid organic fertilizer plus cow urine had a significant effect on plant height, leaf width, number of leaves, and fresh weight of lettuce plants. The best concentration of organic cow urine plus fertilizer on the growth and yield of lettuce was found in treatment P1 (5%) with an average plant height of 9.22 cm, number of leaves of 14.75 cm, leaf width of 7.77, and fresh weight of 30.13 g.

Abstract

Harvest damage to snakefruit (Salacca edulis Reinw.) easily occurs, this is very different from other horticultural plants. Damage to snakefruit occurs due to attack by white fungus which causes the fruit to become rotten and watery. The aim of this research is to find an edible coating made from sweet orange peel pectin nanoparticles that is able to maintain the quality of snakefruit during storage. This research was carried out at the Agrotechnology Laboratory of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang from June to September 2023. The results of this research are the use of pectin in edible coatings with various types of approval as follows. P0 represents control; P1 represents 1% pectin; P2 represents 2% pectin; P3 represents 3% pectin; and P4 represents 4% pectin. The parameters observed were weight loss, percentage of disease incidence, hardness, and sensory tests. The results obtained from these four parameters show that in sample P4 with a sweet orange peel pectin concentration of 4%, the shelf life of snakefruit can be extended to 15 days with better quality compared to samples P0, P1, P2, P3, P4. Edible coating made naturally from orange peel pectin has a beneficial effect on snakefruit because it can extend the shelf life of snakefruit by up to 15 days. In fact, the appearance of snakefruit increases its brightness from the beginning of the fruit's shelf life. This is the best choice for further coating development.

Abstract

Kecamatan Ngancar kabupaten Kediri dengan luas wilayah 94,05 km2 terdiri dari 10 desa dengan jumlah penduduk 2.012 jiwa. Mayoritas pekerjaan masyarakat Ngancar sebagai petani nanas. Petani nanas dibentuk menjadi 8 kelompok tani. Kecamatan Ngancar Kediri merupakan penghasil nanas yang terbesar di Jawa Timur, dimana 75 % wilayahnya ditanami buah nanas. Produksi nanas di Jawa Timur tahun 2021 sebesar 705,88 ton atau 6,9 % dari produksi Nasional dan menduduki urutan ke 6 (enam). Terdapat berbagai macam jenis nanas di wilayah Ngancar diantaranya nanas PK 1 (Pasir Kelud 1), Nanas Simplek, Nanas Queen. Produk nanas dari Ngancar Kediri sudah menembus pasar global (ekspor). Permasalahan dari petani adalah aspek keuangan. Terbatasnya kemampuan dalam pemahaman sistem keuangan. Petani belum bisa mencatat transaksi keuangan dan membuat laporan keuangan. Kegiatan PKM melakukan pendampingan, pelatihan sistem keuangan, membuat laporan keuangan serta melakukan analisa hasil usaha tani. Dengan PKM ini, petani nanas 80% sudah bisa dan mampu mencatat transaksi keuangan, menghitung biaya produksi, membuat laporan keuangan serta melakukan analisa usaha tani. Kegiatan ini diharapkan bisa mencetak petani nanas sebagai wirausaha bibit nanas sesara mandiri serta dapat meningkatkan pendapaatan petani nanas.

Abstract

Permasalahan utama yang dihadapi petani di Desa Bentok Darat dalam proses pengentalan lateks yang baik adalah bahan pengental lateks (koagulan). Umumnya petani menggunakan pengumpul lateks yang tidak dianjurkan seperti TSP dan aluminum sulfat (tawas). Pemakaian TSP dan aluminium sulfat (tawas) tidak dapat menggumpalkan lateks dengan sempurna. Untuk menjawab permasalahan tersebut, salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan adalah melalui diseminasi pemanfaatan belimbing wuluh (Averrhoa bilimbi L.) sebagai koagulan lateks yang baik. PkM ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan tentang manfaat belimbing wuluh sebagai salah satu bahan pembuatan koagulan lateks, dan memberikan keterampilan dalam pembuatan larutan buah belimbing wuluh sebagai bahan koagulan lateks. Kegiatan PkM ini dilaksanakan dalam bentuk transfer knowledge berupa: (1) penyuluhan, (2) pelatihan pembuatan koagulan lateks dari buah belimbing wuluh, dan (3) teknik pembibitan belimbing wuluh. Kegiatan PkM dilaksanakan di Desa Bentok Darat, Kecamatan Bati-Bati Kabupaten Tanah Laut. Kegiatan dilaksanakan selama 6 (enam) bulan (Maret s.d. September 2023), dimulai dari persiapan (survei lapangan, persiapan bahan dan alat), sampai dengan laporan akhir kegiatan, termasuk publikasi di media massa. Mitra sasaran PkM diseminasi yaitu: ketua dan anggota Kelompok Tani Alam Subur, Desa Bentok Darat Kecamatan Bati-Bati Kabupaten Tanah Laut. Evaluasi kegiatan PkM dilakukan dalam bentuk daftar pertanyaan (kuisioner) untuk melihat peningkatan/penambahan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta (mitra) kegiatan, khususnya pengetahuan tentang bahan alternatif koagulan lateks, keuntungan penggunaan bahan koagulan lateks dari buah belimbing wuluh, dan keterampilan membuat larutan koagulan lateks dari buah belimbing wuluh. Hasil PkM menunjukkan terjadinya peningkatan pengetahuan peserta penyuluhan tentang manfaat belimbing wuluh sebesar 40%, dan peningkatan pengetahuan peserta penyuluhan tantang senyawa pada buah belimbing wuluh sebesar 75%. Peningkatan pengetahuan peserta penyuluhan tentang buah belimbing wuluh dapat dijadikan sebagai bahan koagulan lateks meningkat sebesar 89,7%, dan peningkatan ketertarikan menggunakan larutan buah belimbing wuluh sebagai koagulan lateks sebesar 10% dari awalnya 89%. Demi keberlanjutan kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini disarankan sebaiknya peserta kegiatan penyuluhan dapat membagikan pengetahuan yang didapatkan pada penyuluhan ini kepada anggota kelompok yang tidak berkesempatan hadir pada penyuluhan ini, sehingga petani lainnya juga mendapatkan pengetahuan dari pelatihan ini. Usage of Bilimbi a Latex Coagulant for Rubber Farmers in Bentok Darat Village, Bati-Bati District, Tanah Laut Regency Abstract: The main problem farmers in Bentok Darat Village face in the process of good latex thickening is the latex thickening agent (coagulant). Generally, farmers use latex collectors that are not recommended, such as TSP and aluminum sulfate (alum). TSP and aluminum sulfate (alum) cannot coagulate latex completely. To answer this problem, one effort can be made by disseminating the use of Bilimbi (Averrhoa bilimbi L.) as a good latex coagulant. This community service aims to provide knowledge about the benefits of Bilimbi as an ingredient for making latex coagulants and provide skills in making a solution for Bilimbi as a latex coagulant. This community service activity is carried out in the form of knowledge transfer in the form of (1) counseling, (2) training in making latex coagulants from Bilimbi, and (3) Bilimbi seeding techniques. Community service activities were carried out in Bentok Darat Village, Bati-Bati District, Tanah Laut Regency. Activities will be carried out for six months (March to September 2023), starting from preparation (field survey, preparation of materials and tools) to the final activity report, including publication in the mass media. The target partners for community service dissemination are the chairman and members of the Alam Subur Farmers Group, Bentok Darat Village, Bati-Bati District, Tanah Laut Regency. Evaluation of community service activities is carried out in the form of a questionnaire to see the improvement or addition of knowledge and skills of activity participants (partners), especially knowledge about alternative latex coagulant materials, the benefits of using latex coagulant materials from Bilimbi, and skills in making latex coagulant solutions from Bilimbi. The results of the community service showed that there was an increase in knowledge among counseling participants about the benefits of Bilimbi (40%) and an increase in knowledge among counseling participants about the compounds in Bilimbi (75%). The increase in knowledge of counseling participants about how Bilimbi can be used as a latex coagulant increased by 89.7%, and interest in using Bilimbi solution as a latex coagulant increased by 10% from the initial 89%. For the sustainability of this community service activity, it is recommended that participants in extension activities be able to share the knowledge gained from this extension with group members who did not have the opportunity to attend it so that other farmers also gain knowledge from this training.

Abstract

Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pemahaman para petani di Gunung Kupang, Kecamatan Cempaka, Kota Banjarbaru mengenai eco-farming untuk budidaya sayuran. Sasaran PKM adalah penyuluhan kepada para petani sayuran tentang penerapan eco-farming pada sayuran di Kecamatan Cempaka Gunung Kupang untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pemahaman para petani di Kecamatan Cempaka Kota Banjarbaru. Kegiatan PKM dilaksanakan pada tanggal 26 Agustus 2023 bertempat di kawasan Gunung Kupang, Kecamatan Cempaka, Kota Banjarbaru dengan peserta sekitar 20 orang yang terdiri dari 10 orang mahasiswa Jurusan Agroekoteknologi Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Lambung Mangkurat, serta lima orang petani dan lima pemuda petani Karang Taruna di Kecamatan Cempaka Kota Banjarbaru. Hasil PKM menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan pemahaman petani di Kecamatan Cempaka Kota Banjarbaru mengenai penerapan eco-farming khususnya dalam pencegahan hama lalat pemotong daun pada budidaya sayuran. Sebanyak 70% peserta mengetahui tentang eco-farming, 80% peserta dapat membedakan antara eco-farming dan pertanian organik, 80% peserta sudah memahami cara menerapkan eco-farming dalam budidaya sayuran, 75% peserta memahami prinsip dasar eco-farming, 85% peserta mengetahui tindakan eco-farming apa saja dalam budidaya sayuran yang dapat diterapkan, 85% peserta mengetahui dan familiar dengan hama lalat pemotong daun, 80% peserta mengetahui ciri-ciri tanaman yang terserang lalat pemotong daun, 90% peserta mengetahui bahan alami untuk mencegah serangan lalat pemotong daun, memotong lalat, 90% peserta mengetahui cara mencegah serangan lalat pemotong daun, dan 90% peserta mengetahui cara pengendalian hama secara terpadu. ECO-FARMING VEGETABLE CULTIVATION ON GUNUNG KUPANG CEMPAKA URBAN VILLAGE, BANJARBARU CITY Abstract: This community service aims to increase the knowledge and understanding of farmers in Gunung Kupang, Cempaka District, and Banjarbaru City regarding eco-farming for vegetable cultivation. The target audience for community service is counseling vegetable farmers about applying eco-farming to vegetables in Gunung Kupang Cempaka District to increase knowledge and understanding for farmers in Cempaka District, Banjarbaru City. The community service activity was carried out on August 26, 2023, taking place in the Gunung Kupang area, Cempaka District, Banjarbaru City, with around 20 participants consisting of 10 students from the Agroecotechnology Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Lambung Mangkurat University, and five farmers and five young farmers from Karang Taruna in the Cempaka District, Banjarbaru City. The community service results show an increase in the knowledge and understanding of farmers in Cempaka District, Banjarbaru City, regarding the application of eco-farming, especially in preventing leaf-cutting fly pests in vegetable cultivation. As many as 70% of participants know about eco-farming, 80% of participants can differentiate between eco-farming and organic farming, 80% of participants already understand how to apply eco-farming in vegetable cultivation, 75% of participants understand the basic principles of eco-farming, 85% of participants know what eco-farming actions in vegetable cultivation can be implemented, 85% of participants know and are familiar with leaf cutter fly pests, 80% of participants know the characteristics of plants attacked by leaf cutter flies, 90% of participants know natural ingredients to prevent fly attacks leaf cutters, cut flies, 90% of participants know how to prevent leaf cutter fly attacks, and 90% of participants know how to control pests in an integrated manner.

Abstract

The Oncidium sphacelatum orchid, commonly propagated vegetatively through pseudobulb separation, presents opportunities for further research into propagation methods and organic fertilizer application. This study, conducted in Batu City, aimed to explore the interaction between vermiwash concentration and shoot number on aeroponically cultivated Orchid sphacelatum Lind cuttings, as well as individual treatment effects. Employing a factorial RKLT design with shoot number (one or two) and vermiwash concentration (100, 200, or 300 ml/L) as factors, the study evaluated plant height, leaf count, stem length, shoot length, root count, and root length as variables. Data analysis involved ANOVA and BNJ tests. Results revealed that cuttings with two shoots and a 200 ml/L vermiwash concentration promoted optimal leaf growth. The number of shoots influenced shoot length, with two shoots demonstrating superior growth compared to single shoot cuttings. Interestingly, vermiwash concentration did not significantly impact shoot growth parameters, indicating that its effects may be limited in this context. This study sheds light on the potential benefits of using vermiwash in orchid cultivation, particularly in enhancing leaf growth when combined with multiple shoot cuttings. However, further investigation is needed to understand the nuanced effects of vermiwash on other growth aspects and its interaction with different propagation methods.Overall, the findings contribute to the optimization of orchid propagation techniques, providing valuable insights for orchid growers seeking to enhance plant growth and productivity sustainably. Further research could delve deeper into the mechanisms underlying the observed effects and explore additional variables to refine cultivation practices for Oncidium sphacelatum orchids.
