Abstract

This study aims to improve the speaking skills of 1B grade students at SDN 4 Masbagik Utara through the implementation of a participatory storytellingmethod. In this approach, the teacher acts as a facilitator who guides andprovides opportunities for students to actively engage in the storytellingprocess. The learning activities are carried out through several stages: introduction of a short story, group storytelling in small groups, active role of the teacher as a facilitator, and closing and reflection. This method has provento create a more lively, interactive, and conducive classroom atmosphere for learning. The classroom action research conducted shows that the applicationof the storytelling method can enhance students' speaking skills. In Cycle I, most students began to speak up, although still using simple sentences. After improvements in Cycle II, students showed significant increases in confidence, activity, and ability to develop stories with better and more coherent sentence structures. This improvement is reflected in the observation results, where inCycle I, the average student score was in the "Good" category with an average score of 8.11, while in Cycle II, it increased to "Very Good" with an average score of 94.1. These results indicate that the gradually and purposefullyapplied storytelling method is highly effective in helping students developtheir speaking skills.

Abstract

The participants in this community service activity were PGSD students at the Nusantara Global Institute of Education, especially students who were in the process of compiling scientific papers. This PKM activity uses lecture, practice and question and answer methods. Based on the results of this training activity it was found that during the Mendeley training activities the participants were very enthusiastic as can be seen from the responses of the participants who actively asked when they experienced difficulties. From the results of discussions conducted with students, it was clear that making a list of references was indeed an obstacle for them. Therefore, the PKM implementation team wanted to motivate students that training in using the Mendeley application could help make it easier for them to enter reference lists automatically.

Abstract

Has been implemented development based research, which aims to produce scientific-based learning module to empower critical thinking skills of students in grade XI MA Mu'allimat NW Pancor. The steps undertaken in this research is still initial stage (introducting and planning), namely; KI-KD literature study high school physics class XI. Followed by observation of school resources and inventory of learning resources in MA Mu'allimat NW Pancor. Also needs analysis, book needs analysis and module, absorption analysis related to material, and teacher and student’s requitments analysis. To support data of research result not yet sufficiently, students and teachers distributed a questionnaire to determine their response to the need for the development of scientific-based physics module to improve critical thinking skills. From the observations that have been done the results of the questionnaire needs teachers and students showed that the study of physics at the MA Mu'allimat NW Pancor rudimentary use of teaching materials in accordance with the 2013 curriculum, teaching materials appropriate curriculum in 2013 has not provided adequately, learning physics-based learning, not train students in critical thinking skills, as well as materials on teaching materials used contain materials not yet complete. Abstract

Learning theory will make it easier for educators to carry out the form of learning that will be carried out. This article will review the theory of cognitive learning and will provide a complete understanding and explanation so that it can be applied in learning activities. This research is a literature study research, where in this research the writer tries to collect data related to the theory put forward by Ausubel and Gagne and then analyzes how the theory of the two figures is applied in learning in elementary schools. The results of this study are the first cognitive theory developed by Ausubel in his theory which states that cognitive processes are advanced organizers (initial arrangements), progressive differentiation, reconciliation reconciliation (integrative reconciliation), consolidation. Meanwhile, Gagne said that cognitive processes are through receptors, sensory registers, short-term memory, long-term memory, and response generators. In the learning process in elementary schools, cognitive theory is more directed and adapted to the age of students.
