Abstract

The Effect of Course Review Horay Learning Model on Understanding Mathematics Concepts of Fifth Grade Students at SDN 6 Cibunar Kec. Cibatu Kab. Garut Academic Year 2021/2022 This study aims to determine the effect of learning mathematics with the Course Review Horay model on the understanding of students' concepts in Class V SDN 6 Cibunar. This type of research is a pre-experimental one group pretest - posttest design. This research was conducted at SDN 6 Cibunar, Cibatu sub-district, Garut district with 20 students as the subject of the study as fifth grade students. Based on research conducted by researchers and the results of data processing and analysis of pretest normality test scores because ^2 count (4.17) <χ^2 table (7.81), then the data is normally distributed. While the posttest score for ^2count (7.47) <χ^2table (7.81), then the data is also normally distributed. Meanwhile, in hypothesis testing, it is obtained that t_count> t_table is 5.63> 2.03 so that it falls in the rejection area H_0 and is in the acceptance area H_1 in this case the hypothesis submission is accepted

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model based on the deep learning approach on students' mathematical problem-solving abilities on spatial geometry material based on word problems. The problems found indicate that students still have difficulty understanding the context of the problem and determining the solution steps because previous learning tends to focus on memorizing formulas. This study uses a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental method, One-Group Pretest–Posttest Design. The research sample consisted of 20 sixth-grade students. The data collection technique used a test of 10 questions arranged based on problem-solving indicators according to Polya. Data were analyzed using a paired t-test and N-Gain test. The results showed an increase in students' average score from 56.50 in the pretest to 75.00 in the posttest. The paired t-test obtained a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 <0.05, so there is a significant effect of the application of PjBL based on deep learning on students' mathematical problem-solving abilities. The N-Gain value is 0.629 which is included in the moderate category. Improvements are seen at every stage of problem-solving according to Polya. Thus, the deep learning-based PjBL model effectively improves students' mathematical problem-solving abilities and is suitable for implementation in elementary school mathematics learning to support 21st-century critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This study explores character values and mathematical concepts in the traditional Badeng art of Singajaya District, Garut, and its potential for elementary education through an ethnopedagogical approach. A qualitative ethnographic method was applied using observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings show that Badeng reflects values such as religiosity, responsibility, discipline, cooperation, and cultural appreciation. Mathematical concepts such as patterns, symmetry, rhythm, and measurement are also found in its music and movements. Integrating Badeng into thematic learning can strengthen character education and enhance students’ contextual understanding of mathematics. The study recommends developing culturally rooted thematic learning materials. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi nilai karakter dan konsep matematika dalam kesenian tradisional Badeng di Kecamatan Malangbong, Kabupaten Garut, serta potensinya dalam pembelajaran sekolah dasar berbasis etnopedagogik. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi, melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa Badeng mengandung nilai religiusitas, tanggung jawab, disiplin, kerja sama, dan cinta budaya. Konsep matematika seperti pola, simetri, ritme, dan pengukuran juga ditemukan dalam musik dan gerakannya. Integrasi Badeng dalam pembelajaran tematik dapat memperkuat pendidikan karakter dan pemahaman matematika secara kontekstual. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan pengembangan bahan ajar tematik berbasis budaya lokal.
