Abstract

In line with the demands of an advanced society, the curriculum in higher education needs to continuously evolve to meet these needs. This study aims to analyze the development of higher education curricula based on the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI) and the National Standards for Higher Education (SNPT), while also supporting the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program. The research is descriptive and qualitative, utilizing a literature review approach. Data were collected through document studies of relevant policy documents, curriculum development guidelines, and related literature. The data were analyzed using content analysis techniques. The results indicate that curriculum development follows several stages: (1) formulation of Graduate Competency Standards (SKL), (2) formulation of Graduate Learning Outcomes (CPL), (3) formulation of program graduate profiles, (4) formulation of program learning outcomes, (5) formulation of course learning outcomes, (6) identification of key concepts and keywords in course learning outcomes, and (7) development of the Semester Learning Plan (RPS). The implementation of MBKM requires higher education institutions to provide services that allow students to exercise their learning rights through eight designated programs. The implications of this research show that KKNI- and SNPT-based curriculum development supports the flexibility of higher education and the successful implementation of MBKM, producing graduates who are competent and ready to face global challenges.

Abstract

Attitude assessment is part of the actual teacher assessment to measure how well a student has achieved attitude skills. Attitude aspects are divided into two categories: spiritual and social attitudes. The 2013 curriculum uses observational, self-assessment, and peer assessment skills to assess attitudes, using a checklist or rubric assessment tool and journal methods as notes. The type of research used is descriptive research using a qualitative approach. The population in this study were all 14 teachers at SDN Kuta Vulnerable. The sample in this study were six teachers at SDN Kuta Rentang. Observation and interviews were used as data collection techniques. The data analysis method for this research uses the Miles and Huberman model. The attitude assessment plan at SDN Kuta Rentang begins with the preparation of journal tools and duplication of self-assessment and peer-assessment sheets that are made. Attitude assessment was carried out using three techniques: observation, self-assessment, and peer assessment. In addition, the results of the attitude assessment are reported in the form of a summary note of attitude observations that incorporate each indicator using the application.

Abstract

Understanding individual learning styles is essential for enhancing educational outcomes, particularly among high-achieving students. This study explores the characteristics, distribution, and academic implications of learning styles—visual, auditory, and kinesthetic—among outstanding students at UIN Ar-Raniry, Banda Aceh. Employing a descriptive qualitative design, the research involved 24 students selected from nine faculties based on academic excellence. Data were gathered through semi-structured interviews, non-participant observations, and documentation, then analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model of qualitative analysis. The findings reveal that 37.5% of participants demonstrated a preference for visual learning, benefiting most from reading, writing, and visual representations. Auditory learners comprised 33.33%, favoring discussion-based and listening-centered activities, while 29.16% were kinesthetic learners who excelled through physical engagement and experiential learning. These results suggest that the dominant learning style among high-achieving students is visual, followed closely by auditory and kinesthetic preferences. The study indicates a potential correlation between learning style alignment and academic performance, although causality cannot be inferred due to methodological limitations. Nevertheless, the findings support the importance of differentiated instruction. Educators are encouraged to design flexible, multimodal learning environments that cater to diverse cognitive preferences. While the study offers insights specific to a localized educational context, broader generalizations require further empirical validation using larger and more diverse samples.

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) approach integrated with the flipped classroom model on students’ critical thinking skills in physics learning. Using a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design, data were collected through pretests and posttests using validated and reliable essay tests. The sample consisted of students selected through purposive sampling from two senior high schools. Results indicate a significant improvement in the critical thinking skills of students in the experimental group compared to the control group, based on N-gain and independent t-test analyses. Notably, improvements were observed in inference and explanation indicators. These findings suggest that integrating STEM with the flipped classroom model can effectively enhance students’ critical thinking in physics education. This shows that students with a STEM approach have better abilities to solve problems, draw conclusions, and explain ideas.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of using place value boards on the ability of third-grade students to recognize place value at SD Negeri 25, Banda Aceh City. Place value is a basic concept in mathematics that is very important as a foundation for understanding arithmetic operations. However, many students still experience difficulties because learning is often delivered abstractly and lacks concrete media support. This study used a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest–posttest design. The subjects were third-grade students who were first given a pretest, then received treatment through learning using a place value board, and finally, a posttest. The instruments used included tests, observation sheets, and documentation. The analysis results showed a significant improvement in student learning outcomes after the implementation of the place value board. Furthermore, student activity and engagement in the learning process also increased. Students found it easier to understand the position and value of a number and were more enthusiastic in participating in learning activities. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of the place value board has a positive influence on the ability to recognize place value in grade III students. This media can be used as an alternative learning medium for mathematics in elementary schools to make learning more concrete, interesting, and meaningful

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of using animated video media on improving the critical thinking skills of first grade students in Mathematics learning using a scientific approach at SD Negeri 25 Banda Aceh. The background of this study was based on the low level of students’ critical thinking skills, which was caused by the less optimal use of attractive learning media that are suitable for the characteristics of elementary school students. This research employed a quantitative approach using an experimental method with a One Group Pre-test Post-test Design. The research subjects were 32 students of class I B at SD Negeri 25 Banda Aceh. Data were collected through tests (pretest and posttest) and observations. The test instrument was used to measure students’ critical thinking skills before and after the implementation of learning using animated video media through a scientific approach. Data were analyzed using the Shapiro–Wilk normality test and the Paired Sample t-test hypothesis test with a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that the average posttest score of students’ critical thinking skills was higher than the average pretest score. The results of the Paired Sample t-test indicated a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05; therefore, the null hypothesis (H₀) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Hₐ) was accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of animated video media has a significant effect on improving first grade students’ critical thinking skills in Mathematics learning using a scientific approach at SD Negeri 25 Banda Aceh
