Abstract

The research intends to evaluate the planning design based on the initial mutual check (MC-0) of a large-scale building plan as a result of Joint ventures (KSO) between two planning consultants who differ in planning design experience; one consultant is from Java, and the other is from outside Java. The study's topic is building planning in the Kalimantan region. The design employs descriptive qualitative research based on data from a documentary study of project weekly meeting report archives and data analysis using non-numerical methods such as SWOT analysis. Research results: (1) The weakness of KSO with consultants from outside Java is the difference in experience and work ethic of Human Resources. (2) The obstacle to employing a large number of workers is the difficulty of supervising and coordinating work, which causes errors in the drawing and calculation of the BQ (bill of quantity) volume used in the job auction. (3) The results of the pile indicator analysis conclude that the depth of the precast pile foundation can be reduced. (4) In responding to the preliminary work, the contractor seeks to propose as much additional work as possible and ask for the smallest possible amount of less work. In comparison, the owner seeks to use the remaining funds from less work as additional work costs to increase the function and architectural appearance of the building.

Abstract

Kata kunci : Best Practice; Panduan Perancangan; Arsitektur Islam  Abstract_ Various disciplinary studies from the Islamic point of view have been widely practiced, including in the field of architecture. Various opinions about the form of Islamic architecture was much emerging, both of which looked at Islamic architecture from the physical typology, philosophy to sociodemographic conditions point of views. However, in today's modern and heterogeneous era how an architectural product can be categorized as an Islamic architecture is still a debate. The absence of a reference in justifying the form of Islamic architecture becomes a challenge for Muslim architects. This paper intends to conduct an early identification against various best practices design based on the Qur'an and Hadith, that can be used as the built environment design references. However, this identification is not intended to be an absolute standard, but rather as a tool that strongly influences various conceptual aspects in helping the process of prioritizing and also in decision making in designing. It takes a multidisciplinary collaboration to realize the guidelines of Islamic Architecture design. Keywords : Best Practice; Design Guideline;, Islamic Architecture.

Abstract

The evolution of Indonesian vernacular architecture research is examined using bibliometric analysis. We investigate publishing trends, authorship patterns, thematic focuses, and geographical distribution of research from 2000 to 2024 using Scopus data from 89 publications. Since 2015, research on sustainability, cultural identity, and preservation has increased significantly. Analysis shows a fragmented research community with room for more collaboration, especially between domestic and international organizations. Java and Bali are the most researched, indicating a geographical imbalance. Disaster resilience, digital documentation, bioclimatic performance, sustainable tourism, and vernacular urban adaptation are trends. The study finds research gaps, notably in eastern Indonesia, and advises additional research. Researchers, policymakers, and practitioners studying and preserving Indonesia's rich architectural legacy can benefit from this comprehensive review. This project maps the present research landscape to assist future research and preserve Indonesian vernacular architecture.

Abstract

This study examines Banjarmasin City's low-income slum residents' views and housing preferences. To fully grasp their lives is the goal. This study seeks to explore the numerous elements affecting these communities' residential decisions and objectives. Additionally, it investigates the viability of implementing setting-specific urban policies and interventions. Our study used systematic review and thematic content analysis. Our 16 sources included qualitative investigations, quantitative surveys,  and policy publications. Our study covers demographics, slum living, residential preferences, economic limits, health risks, and natural disaster susceptibility. This study highlights the resilience of the people, their desire for better housing, the economic constraints of informal employment, the health risks of inadequate sanitation, and their susceptibility to natural disasters. The study's use of ambitious goals and community-based solutions sets it apart from prior research. Access to work is also a major factor in residential preferences, especially in Banjarmasin. This study enhances our understanding of urban life in slums and emphasizes the need for situation-specific urban policy. Our research suggests community-driven projects have great potential, emphasizing the need for localized solutions. This work advances urban planning and development by allowing low-income communities to shape their own futures. Future research should examine the long-term consequences of localized initiatives and the scaling possibilities of community-driven development strategies in urban areas.

Abstract

Background: Mental health is a vital although insufficiently examined component of student well-being at pondok pesantren (Islamic boarding schools). Pesantren offer organized religious instruction and discipline, although they also pose distinct psychological issues. Objective: This study examines the mental health resilience of santri at Pondok Pesantren Darussalam Martapura utilizing Antonovsky’s Salutogenic Model. Methods: A qualitative case study methodology was employed, utilizing semi-structured interviews, participant observations, and document analysis involving 40 respondents, comprising santri, ustadz, and administrators emphasizing comprehensibility, manageability, and meaningfulness as protective variables Results: The results indicate that pesantren cultivate resilience via faith-based coping mechanisms (82%), peer social support (74%), and organized routines (68%). Nonetheless, 62% of santri experience stress attributed to stringent discipline, while merely 32% have access to professional psychological services, underscoring deficiencies in mental health support. Although faith imparts a significant sense of purpose (81%), it does not entirely alleviate stress, since 43% continue to endure chronic psychological suffering. Conclusion: The research conclude that incorporating mental health education, flexible disciplinary systems, and organized counseling services within pesantren can improve resilience while upholding religious principles. These findings enhance the broader dialogue on mental health promotion within faith-based educational environments and advocate for a comprehensive approach to student well-being.

Abstract

Ulama have taken an important role in the people of South Kalimantan, not only in terms of social cohesion but also in the forerunner of Muslim settlements. Taking the case in Sekumpul Martapura, This study tries to identify the development pattern of the Sekumpul settlement delineation due to KH Muhammad Zaini Abdul Ghani's da'wah activities, and identification of changes in the function of the area. The settlement delineation spatial-sprawl obtained by Google Earth and Geospatial Information Agency and supported by structured interviews with key informants using a snowball sampling technique. The results showed the expression of spatial delineation development in the Sekumpul area run naturally and adapted what looks like an octopus pattern with the road network as its dominant factor. In the 1980s until recently the Sekumpul area has experienced three times changes in its function, from the center of propagation, residential, into economic functions with its religious tourism concept. There were no specific guidelines found in the da'wah material regarding the technical aspects of spatial development. One important message conveyed by KH Muhammad Zaini Abdul Ghani was to uphold the rights of guests. This concept was then very tightly held by the residents of Sekumpul, which impacted on the maximum provision of facilities and infrastructure for the pilgrims.

Abstract

Sick Building Syndrome (SBS) is a condition in which inhabitants develop health problems or discomfort as a result of extended exposure to indoor surroundings. The purpose of this study was to investigate the association between air temperature and humidity in air-conditioned rooms and the prevalence of SBS, specifically mental weariness (burnout) instances, among employees of Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) in Banjarbaru City, Indonesia. The study followed a quantitative design with an analytical cross-sectional survey approach. Data were gathered using questionnaires and devices that measured air temperature and humidity. Univariate analysis defined the variable features, whereas bivariate analysis looked at the correlations between air temperature and humidity (independent variables) and the prevalence of SBS mental fatigue cases (dependent variable). The survey included 30 bank employees, with an average age of 32.4 years. The average air temperature was 25.8°C, with a relative humidity of 84.2%, which was outside of the permissible limit. The prevalence of SBS was 43.3%, with common symptoms including nose discomfort, eye irritation, headache, and fatigue. The prevalence of mental weariness was 36.7%. Pearson correlation analyses found significant positive relationships between air temperature and SBS prevalence (r = 0.48, p < 0.01), relative humidity and SBS prevalence (r = 0.39, p < 0.05), air temperature and mental fatigue (r = 0.41, p < 0.05), and relative humidity and mental fatigue. The findings emphasize the need of maintaining adequate indoor environmental conditions to reduce SBS risk and increase employee well-being in air-conditioned workplaces.
