Abstract

Type belian increasingly threatened by logging, followed by rejuvenation, while growth is known to be very slow. One to maintain the standing purchase is to cultivate these plants. Purchase seed coat is very hard, it should be given a variety of treatments. The purpose of this study was undertaken to determine the effect of several treatments that can overcome dormancy in seed purchase and finding the right treatment to break seed dormancy diamond. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Silviculture Faculty of Forestry, University of Tanjungpura Pontianak, a study carried out for about 3 (three) months. This research method used is Randomized Block Design Acak (RAK), which consists of 5 treatments and 4 replications. The treatment consists of treatment research P0 (control), P1 (skin solving in seeds), P2 (soaking seeds with 70% H2SO4), P3 (soaking seeds with auxin), and P4 (soaking with GA) with each of treatment 3 subsampling. Mean while, as the length of the seed is made ??up of a group I = 8 cm - 8.9cm, group II = 9 cm - 9.9 cm, group III = 10.1 cm - 10, 8, and group IV = 11 cm - 12.8 cm. Friedman Test results of calculations obtained from treatment that do not significantly affect seed dormancy period on purchases. From the results of Friedman test value T = 8 is smaller than the = 9.49, it was decided to accept H?. In the treatment P0 gives a good change (seeds still in good condition and had cracking), whereas the other treatments the seeds die.Keyword : Eusideroxylon zwageri T.et.B, Dormancy, H2SO4, Plant Growth Regulation

Abstract

Pangal (Baccaurea bracteata Muell.Arg.) is a flowering plant belonging to the Phylanhace tribe know as fruit and wood producer. The pangal plant is native to debt, but its  existence is diminishing now. Therefore, it is necessary to procure seedlings for forest restoration with cuttings.  The purpose of this study was to obtain root stimulants and planting medium suitable for the growth of pangan shoot cuttings. This experiment used a (split plot) design with a completely randomized design (CRD). The main plot factor was the planting medium with two levels of factor (cocopeat (M1) and cocopeat with husk charcoal (M2)). The subplot factor consists of three levels of factor (control (Z1), rootone-F (Z2) and wood vinegar (Z3)). Each treatment was replicated  five times to obtain 30 units of treatments. The result showed the highest percentage of life (60%) was obtained by in cuttings that were treated with rootone-F and were planted in cocopeat medium and rice huck mixture. After being tested statistically, the effect of planting media (cocopeat or mixture of cocopeat and husk charcoal) and root stimulants (without root stimulants, rootone F or wood vinegar) was not significant to primary root length, primary root number, secondary root number, number of leaves and shoot length.  Keyword: Baccaurea bracteata, husk charcoal wood vinegar, rootone-F.

Abstract

Mangosteen is an annual plant whose vegetative growth such as roots, stems and leaves runs very slowly. To spur the growth of mangosteen used biological agents Trichoderma sp. and Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi. The combination of Trichoderma sp. and FMA can accelerate plant growth, root development, and increase nutrients, but not yet known when the inoculation of Trichoderma sp. which is effective on morphorous soils that can increase the growth of mangosteen plants. This study aims to obtain the infuence of inoculation time Trichoderma sp. and Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (FMA) are effective in improving the growth of mangosteen seeds. This study was designed in RIL (Completely Randomized Design) with the treatment : without Trichoderma and FMA (W0), FMA inoculation without Trichoderma (W2), Trichoderma inoculation together with FMA (W3), Trichoderma inoculation 3 days after inoculation of FMA (W4), and Trichoderma inoculation 7 days after inoculation of FMA (W5). Each treatment was repeated five times so that there were 30 experimental units. The observed variables were height (cm) and plant diameter (mm), number of leaf buds, and FMA colonization at root (%). Maintenance conducted is watering and weeding. The results showed that the parameters of treatment time of inoculation Trichoderma sp. and Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi have no significant effect on the growth of height, diameter and number of leaf buds. This is because the research time is relatively short. Therefore, the need for further research with a longer period of time.Keyword: Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (FMA), Diameter, Garcinia mangostana L, High, Leaf bud, Trichoderma sp.

Abstract

Ulin (Eusideroxylon zwageri) is a species of wood with high economic value that is difficult to find in the wild. Regeneration of E. zwageri is naturally very slow. Efforts to increase the procurement of E. zwageri seedlings can be done with a tissue culture technique. Through tissue culture, the seeds obtained will be uniform, have better quality and faster. This study aims to determine the effect and optimum concentration of IAA and BAP growth regulators on E. zwageri explants growth. The method used is experimental using a completely randomized design. Treatment factors are IAA concentration factor with 5 levels of treatment (0 mg/L, 0.5 mg/L, 1 mg/L, 1.5 mg/L, and 2 mg/L) and BAP concentration of 5 treatment levels (0 mg/L, 1 mg/L, 2 mg/L, 3 mg/L, and 4 mg/L). Each treatment was repeated 3 times. The results showed that the treatment of IAA concentration, BAP concentration and the interaction of IAA and BAP concentration affected the swelling of explants and growth of E. zwageri callus. The best concentration for callus explants was IAA of 2 mg/L and BAP of 0 mg/L, with a time of 12-13 weeks after planting. Keywords: BAP, E. zwageri, IAA, Tissue Culture

Abstract

Garcinia mangostana L. is a species tropical forest that has many benefit. The benefit mangosteen for human life makes it worth as commodity in International market. This aimed to find out the influence of coconut water, tauge extract, and yeast for mangosteen explants growth. The research took place in Sylviculture Laboratory at Tanjungpura University for 2 month. The data analyzed to use Non Parametric Statistics. The are four treatments given those are T0 = Control, T1 = Coconut water 15%, T2 = Tauge extract 15% and T3 = Yeast 8% with 7 repplications so there are 28 explants. For the whole, the parameters observed were the first times callus and sproud appear, the counts of explants had callus, sproud, browning or constant and the percentation of explants growth. Kruskal Wallis showed that the treatments didnt influence the growth of mangosteen explants. But, Chi-Square analysis showed that it gave influence for the value of mangosteen sproud explants. Yeast had 4 explants which make mangosteen explant sprouted. Its high and low value of sproud are 4 and 10. Base on it, yeast give a good influence for the mangosteen explants in vitro.
