Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dengan tema pelatihan pembuatan pakan ikan atau pelet, berbasis bahan dasar lokal di ekosistem gambut, bertujuan agar para pembudidaya mampu memiliki keterampilan dalam pengolahan pakan ikan secara mandiri, karena porsi terbesar dalam proses budidaya ikan adalah untuk pakan. Kondisi sosial ekonomi masyarakat disekitar ekosistem gambut masih bisa ditingkatkan, melalui budidaya ikan dalam kolam tanah, maupun kolam plastik/terpal, sehingga program revitalisasi ekonomi masyarakat bisa berjalan baik, dan berhasil meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat. Ketersediaan pakan terbatas, dengan harga yang cukup tinggi, menjadi permasalahan bagi para pembudidaya ikan, baik yang dikelola dalam kolam tanah, maupun kolam plastik/terpal, khususnya di Desa Bahaur Hulu Permai Kecamatan Kahayan Kuala Kabupaten Pulang Pisau. Pelatihan pengolahan pakan ikan menjadi pilihan, karena berbahan dasar lokal yang tersedia disekitar wilayah desa Bahaur Hulu Permai, terutama tepung ikan yang bisa dibuat sendiri oleh para petani dan keluarganya, berasal dari hasil tangkapan nelayan, terutama ikan-ikan kecil, yang tidak dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat sekitar pesisir. Permasalahan utama kelompok masyarakat di Desa Bahaur Hulu Permai adalah tidak memiliki keterampilan membuat pakan secara mandiri, sehingga para pembudidaya perlu diberikan pelatihan, guna meningkatkan kemampuan, dan keterampilan dalam membuat pakan ikan sendiri, dengan pakan ikan bisa dikelola dan dibuat sendiri, maka diharapkan pembudidaya ikan tidak khawatir lagi dengan ketersediaan pakan bagi ikan yang diusahakan. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi kegiatan bahwa program ini sangat diminati oleh peserta, terbukti 76% dari peserta mampu mengolah sendiri pakan ikan berdasarkan bahan baku lokal yang tersedia di wilayah Bahaur Hulu Permai. Pelatihan pembuatan pakan ikan berbahan baku lokal, merupakan program pengembangan perikanan budidaya, sebagai upaya untuk kehidupan, dan kesejahteraan masyarakat, serta upaya pelestarian ekosisten gambut yang berkelanjutan. Community Training on Fish Feed Making in Bahaur Hulu Permai  Village, Pulang Pisau Regency Abstract The community service activity themed "Training on Fish Feed or Pellet Production Based on Local Ingredients in Peatland Ecosystems" aims to equip fish farmers with skills to independently process fish feed, as feed accounts for the largest portion of fish farming costs. The socioeconomic conditions of communities around peatland ecosystems can be improved through fish farming in earthen ponds or plastic/tarpaulin ponds. This program is designed to support economic revitalization efforts, aiming to enhance the community's economic well-being. Limited availability and high costs of fish feed present significant challenges for fish farmers, whether in earthen or plastic/tarpaulin ponds, particularly in Bahaur Hulu Permai Village, Kahayan Kuala Subdistrict, Pulang Pisau Regency. Training on fish feed production was chosen as a solution, utilizing locally available materials in Bahaur Hulu Permai, especially fishmeal that can be produced by farmers and their families. This fishmeal is derived from the catches of local fishermen, primarily small fish that are not consumed by the coastal community. The main issue faced by the community groups in Bahaur Hulu Permai Village is their lack of skills to independently produce fish feed. Therefore, training programs are necessary to enhance their capabilities and skills in making fish feed on their own. With the ability to manage and produce their own fish feed, farmers can alleviate concerns about feed availability for their aquaculture operations. Based on evaluation results, the program was well-received, with 76% of participants successfully producing fish feed using locally available raw materials in Bahaur Hulu Permai. This training program represents an initiative in aquaculture development, aiming to improve livelihoods and community welfare while contributing to the sustainable preservation of the peatland ecosystem.

Abstract

Pengenalan formulasi bahan pakan dilakukan untuk masyarakat dari 2 (dua) desa di Kabupaten Pulang Pisau, Kalimantan Tengah yaitu Desa Tanjung Sangalang dan Penda Barania. Kegiatan ini dilakukan pada tanggal 28 Desember 2021 dengan rtujuan untuk mengenalkan kepada masyarakat cara menghitung kebutuhan bahan pakan ikan dengan metode bujur sangkar sehingga protein yang diperlukan dalam pakan untuk kebutuhan ikan terpenuhi. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dalam beberapa tahap yaitu tahap awal (tahap observasi dan koordinasi) dan tahap pelaksanaan. Pada tahap awal dilakukan untuk mendapatkan informasi terkait dengan permasalahan utama yang dialami oleh petani ikan sehingga kegiatan yang akan diberikan dapat menjawab permasalahan yang dialami masyarakat. Pelaksanaan pelatihan diikuti oleh masyarakat dari Desa Tanjung Sangalang dan Penda Barania yang pusatkan pada satu tempat kegiatan. Dalam pelaksanaan pelatihan masyarakatkan dilibatkan dalam proses perhitungan bahan baku yang diperlukan untuk mendapatkan kandungan protein sesuai kebutuhan ikan. Proses penimbangan, pencampuran, pengadukan, penggilingan dan penjemuran pakan ikan sepenuhnya dilakukan oleh peserta pelatihan. Berdasarkan hasil kegiatan bahwa seluruh peserta mengalami peningkatan pengetahuan dan mampu menghitung kebutuhan pakan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan protein yang diperlukan oleh ikan.

Abstract

The cultivation of oyster mushrooms is an activity that can be introduced to early childhood as an effective learning medium. This activity not only familiarizes children with the growth process of oyster mushrooms but also increases their awareness of the importance of the environment and sustainability. At the Experimental Garden Installation of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Palangka Raya, this program is designed to provide a fun and educational learning experience for the Early Childhood Education (PAUD) Tiara Az Zahra. Through the introduction of oyster mushroom cultivation, it is expected that children can develop observation skills, knowledge about the life cycle of mushrooms, and awareness of the importance of mushrooms as a nutritious vegetable source in everyday life. Additionally, this activity also aims to bring children closer to the world of science from an early age, as well as teach values of cooperation and responsibility through practical and interactive activities.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian pada Masyarakat ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 19 Mei 2024 di Desa Talio, Kecamatan Pandih Batu, Kabupaten Pulang Pisau. Kegiatan ini merupakan salah satu upaya dalam meningkatkan keterampilan ibu-ibu rumah tangga di Desa Talio untuk memanfaatkan hasil perkebunan holtikultura yang cukup melimpah di desa tersebut. Hasil hortikultura tersebut adalah pisang dan singkong yang tidak dimanfaatkan secara maksimal oleh masyarakat. Umumnya hasil tersebut dijual dalam bentuk bahan mentah dan belum ada diversifikasi pengolahan dari hasil perkebunan tersebut. Dalam sebuah kegiatan Focus Group Disscussion yang dilakukan pada kegiatan penelitian sebelumnya, masyarakat Desa Talio menginginkan penambahan ketetrampilan dalam bidang tata boga. Mengingat banyaknya hasil panen pisang dan singkong di Desa Talio, maka pelatihan pembuatan kue berbahan baku lokal tersebut dilaksanakan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan masyarakat terutama ibu-ibu sehingga dapat menambahkan penghasilan/pendapatan dalam rumah tangga. Selain itu, kegiatan pelatihan ini juga menjadi solusi bagi masyarakat untuk membantu menanggulangi kerusakan ekosistem lahan gambut. Hasil pelatihan ini memberikan pengetahuan yang baru kepada masyarakat terutama ibu-ibu rumah tangga terkait dengan diversifikasi pengolahan hasil perkebunan hortikultura dan dapat memberikan manfaat secara finansial dalam rumah tangga. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara yang dilakukan sebelum pelaksanaan pelatihan terlihat bahwa hanya 14% ibu-ibu rumah tangga yang mengetahui bahwa pisang dan singkong dapat diolah menjadi berbagai jenis bentuk olahan makanan terutama untuk bahan baku kue, sedangkan 86% yang lainnya mengatakan bahwa mereka belum mengetahui diversifikasi olahan makanan dari kedua bahan tersebut. Namun, setelah pelaksanaan pelatihan terlihat ada peningkatan dari segi pengetahuan dari ibu-ibu rumah tangga yaitu sebesar 100% peserta mengatakan bahwa mereka semua mengetahui tentang diversifikasi olahan pisang dan singkong dari pelatihan yang dilakukan. Local Raw Materials Cake Making Training as Economic Strengthening for the Community in Talio Village, Pulang Pisau Regency Abstract This community service activity was conducted on 19 May 2024 in Talio Village, Pandih Batu Sub-district, Pulang Pisau Regency. This activity is one of the efforts to improve the skills of the Talio Village community to utilize the horticultural plantation products that are quite abundant in the village. The horticultural products are banana and cassava, which are not optimally utilized by the community. Generally, these products are sold in the form of raw materials and there is no diversified processing of these plantation products. In a Focus Group Discussion activity conducted during the previous research, the community of Talio Village willing to have some additional skills especially in culinary arts. Considering the abundance of banana and cassava harvests in Talio Village, the local raw material cake-making training was conducted to improve the skills of the community, especially housewives, so that they can increase their household income. In addition, this training activity is also a solution for the community to help mitigate damage to the peatland ecosystem. The results of this training provide new knowledge to the community related to the diversification of processing horticultural plantation products and can provide financial benefits in the household.

Abstract

Mercury is a hazardous chemical that significantly impacts both the environment and human health. In Central Kalimantan, gold mining activities contribute to mercury contamination, particularly in aquatic ecosystems. Lake Lais, an oxbow lake along the Kahayan River, is potentially affected by mercury from upstream mining activities. This study aims to assess mercury contamination in Lake Lais water and sediment, and evaluate the ecological risks associated with mercury pollution. In September 2024, water and sediment samples were collected from five sites in Lais Lake. Water samples were collected from the surface using polypropylene bottles with added nitric acid to preserve mercury content. Sediment samples were taken using an Ekman grab and analyzed for mercury using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS) at Balai Standarisasi Pelayanan Jasa Industri in Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan. The results showed that water mercury concentrations ranged from 0.00 to 0.002 mg/l, which is within the limits set by the Indonesian government (PP No. 22/2021). However, sediment mercury levels ranged from 0.14 to 0.47 mg/kg, which can negatively impact the ecosystem based on international standards. Lais Lake was classified as having mild to moderate mercury contamination, with an ecological risk ranging from moderate to very strong. The Risk Quotient (RQ) exceeded 1, indicating high ecological risk. These findings highlight the need for regular monitoring and stricter regulation of mercury use in mining. Future research should focus on long-term impacts and seasonal variations in mercury levels to better assess ecological risks.

Abstract

Central Kalimantan has a large area of peatland that contains a lot of peat water, which can be used as a source of clean water and drinking water. Meanwhile, the community still lacks clean water because peat waters are acidic to highly acidic, corrosive, and reddish-black, making them unsuitable for human use.  Therefore, efforts are needed to purify peat water to be suitable for human consumption.  This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of using calcium carbonate lime, alum, and activated carbon to purify peat water.  This research was divided into 2 stages, namely preliminary research by testing the combination of the three materials mentioned above with the dose of each material, 0.3 g/L, 0.6 g, and 0.9 g/L, so that 33 treatments were obtained, namely 27 treatments.  Test parameters in preliminary research are pH, water colour, and water appearance.  In the main research, the observed variables were pH, water colour, TDS, and the appearance of water.  In the main study, the best 6 treatments from the preliminary study were used, where the pH value was close to normal, ranging from 5.76 to 6.16, and the colour value ranged from 4 to 15 Pt-Co, and there was no foam. The best 3 main research results carried out complete testing of physical, chemical and microbiological water quality parameters for clean water, namely physical parameters (colour, odour, taste, turbidity, temperature, and TDS), chemistry (organic matter, pH, hardness, iron, manganese, sulphate, nitrite, chloride, nitrate, zinc, cyanide, fluoride, ammonia, aluminium and copper), and microbiology (total coliform and E. coli). Based on the results obtained, in the main study, the use of a combination of calcium carbonate lime, alum, and activated carbon at doses of 0.3 g/L, 0.3 g, and 0.6 g/L respectively was very effective in purifying peat water into water suitable for human consumption, so these doses are recommended for purifying peat water.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the types of aquatic plants, the structure of aquatic plant communities and water quality in Lake Regei. This study was conducted for 1 (one) month, namely in June 2024. in Lake Regei, Tumbang Tahai Village, Bukit Batu District,Central Kalimantan. The sampling method was carried out by purposive sampling, namely sampling was carried out at 3 (three) stations that were considered important and could represent the water conditions in Lake Regei. The results found that there were three types of aquatic plants, namely kiambang (Salvinia molesta), walingi (Cyperus elatus), and rasau (Pandanus helicopus), with a total of 6,699 individuals. The structure of the aquatic plant community in Lake Regei shows that the density of aquatic plants ranges from 450.75–641.50 ind/m2. The diversity index value (H’) ranges from 0.224-0.234 which is classified as a low diversity value. The uniformity index (E) value of aquatic plants in Lake Regei ranges between 0.204-0.246 indicating that the uniformity of the number of individuals in each species is uneven and very different. The dominance index (D) value of aquatic plants in Lake Regei ranges between 0.897-0.904 indicating that the dominance in the waters of Lake Regei is relatively high. The water quality conditions, namely the values ​​of the Physics and Chemistry parameters in Lake Regei show average values, namely, temperature values ​​ranging from 28 -32.85⁰C, brightness ranging from 10.8-12.5 cm, depth ranging from 1.05-3.15 m, turbidity ranging from 24.5-71.0 NTU, acidity (pH) ranging from 5.68-6.2, dissolved oxygen ranging from 6.1-6.8 mg/l, nitrate ranging from 0.005-0.007 mg/l and phosphate ranging from 0.025-0.069 mg/l.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Danau Sabuah yang berada di Desa Tuwung, Kecamatan Kahayan Tengah, Kabupaten Pulang Pisau yang dilaksankan pada dilaksanakan pada bulan April dan Mei 2024 untuk menentukan status mutu air Danau Sabuah dengan menggunakan metode storet. Paramater kualitas air yang dipilih untuk keperluan penentuan status mutu air tersebut terdiri dari paramater Suhu, Total Dissolved Solid (TDS), Total Suspended Solid (TSS), pH, Dissolved Oxygen (DO), Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), Nitrat dan Fosfat. Pengambilan sampel air dan pengukuranl parameter kualitas air dilakukan pada tiga titik stasiun ( Stasiun I, Stasiun II dan Stasiun III) selama empat kali pengambilan sampel dengan interval waktu satu minggu. Beberapa parameter kualitas air seperti suhu, pH, dan TDS dilakukan pengukuran secara langsung di lapangan. Namun, parameter seperti TSS, BOD, Nitrat dan Fosfat dianalisis di Laboratorium Kesehatan Daerah Provinsi Kalimantan Tengah. Berdasarkan hasil yang didapatkan bahwa status mutu air Danau Sabuah sudah tercemar hingga tercemar berat dengan skor total pada stasiun I adalah -38 dengan status tercemar berat, selanjutnya pada stasiun II mendapat skor -43 dengan status tercemar berat, dan untuk stasiun III mendapat skor -42 yang juga masuk kedalam golongan tercemar berat

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui kepadatan dan keanekaragaman makrozoobenthos, kondisi kualitas air berdasarkan parameter fisika dan kimia serta perbedaan kepadatan, keanekaragaman dan kondisi kualitas air antara stasiun di Danau Sabuah. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif, pengambilan sampel dengan metode purposive sampling dimana lokasi penelitian dibagi menjadi 3 stasiun yakni inlet, pertengahan dan outlet. Pengambilan sampel makrozoobenthos dilakukan di 3 stasiun dimana setiap stasiun ditetapkan 3 titik pengambilan sampel selama 3 kali ulangan dengan interval waktu 7 hari. Pengukuran dan pengambilan sampel kualitas air meliputi suhu, kedalaman, kekeruhan, tipe sedimen, pH, DO dan amoniak dilakukan pada stasiun yang sama dengan stasiun pengambilan sampel makrozoobenthos. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian jenis makrozoobenthos yang ditemukan di Danau Sabuah sebanyak 8 spesies yang termasuk dalam filum Annelida, Uniramia dan Nematoda. Komposisi jenis makrozoobenthos yang paling banyak ditemukan dari filum Uniramia. Nilai kepadatan makrozoobenthos rata-rata berkisar antara 133 – 6.133 ind/m2. Nilai rata-rata indeks keanekaragaman makrozoobenthos pada masing-masing stasiun menunjukkan keanekaragaman jenis makrozoobenthos tergolong rendah. Kondisi parameter kualitas air pada lokasi penelitian menunjukkan nilai parameter suhu, pH, amoniak masih sesuai untuk kehidupan organisme akuatik. Sementara itu, nilai parameter DO menunjukkan nilai yang relatif rendah di semua stasiun. Hasil uji anova menunjukkan tidak ada perbedaan kepadatan dan keanekaragaman makrozoobenthos serta nilai suhu, kekeruhan, pH, DO dan amoniak antara stasiun. Sedangkan untuk parameter kedalaman menunjukkan adanya perbedaan nilai antara stasiun pengamatan. Kata kunci: Danau Sabuah, Makrozoobenthos, Parameter Fisika-Kimia ABSTRACT This study was conducted to determine the density and diversity of macrozoobenthos, water quality conditions based on physical and chemical parameters and differences in density, diversity and water quality conditions between stations in Sabuah Lake. This research is a quantitative study with purposive sampling method where the research location was divided into 3 stations namely inlet, middle and outlet. Macrozoobenthos sampling was carried out at 3 stations where each station was assigned 3 sampling points for 3 replicates with a time interval of 7 days. Measurement and sampling of water quality including temperature, depth, turbidity, sediment type, pH, DO and ammonia were carried out at the same station as the macrozoobenthos sampling station. Based on the results of the study of macrozoobenthos species found in Sabuah Lake as many as 8 species are included in the phylum Annelida, Uniramia and Nematoda. The composition of macrozoobenthos species most commonly found from the phylum Uniramia. The average macrozoobenthos density value ranged from 133 - 6,133 ind/m2. The average value of the macrozoobenthos diversity index at each station shows the diversity of macrozoobenthos species is low. The condition of water quality parameters at the study site shows the value of temperature, pH and ammonia parameters are still suitable for the life of aquatic organisms. Meanwhile, the value of the DO parameter shows a relatively low value at all stations. The ANOVA test showed no difference in macrozoobenthos density and diversity, and temperature, turbidity, pH, DO and ammonia between stations. Abstract

Hutan kemasyarakatan (HKm) merupakan hutan yang diberikan hak pengelolaannya kepada kelompok masyarakat unutk dimanfaafkan guna meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat. Keberadaan HKm Lestari 1 di Desa Tumbang Nusa belum dikelola secara optimal karena kurangnya pemahaman anggota terkait pengelolaan dan pemanfaatan HKm secara berkelanjutan, meskipun HKm Lestari 1 telah memiliki izin untuk mengelola hutan secara sah, yang diperoleh dari Kementerian Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan pada Tahun 2023. Tujuan kegiatan untuk meningkatkan pemahamam peserta terkait keberadaan, fungsi dan manfaat Hutan Kemasyarakatan (HKm) yang dlilakukan pada bulan September 2025 di Desa Tumbang Nusa Kecamatan Jabiren Raya, Kabupaten Pulang Pisau dengan peserta yaitu pengurus dan anggota HKm Lestari 1. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan ini menggabungkan metode ceramah dan demonstrasi peta sebagai pendekatan edukatif dalam penguatan pemahaman kawasan HKm, yang belum banyak diterapkan sebelumnya di Kalimantan Tengah. Metode ceramah dilakukan dengan cara memaparkan materi terkait HKm untuk menambah wawasan masyarakat dalam pengelolaan HKm, sedangkan demonstrasi peta dilakukan untuk melibatkan masyarakat dalam memetakan area dalam zona produksi yang dapat dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat sesuai dengan kondisi zona tersebut dan untuk menggali lebih detail tentang pengetahuan peserta terhadap keberadaan HKm, zona, fungsi dan manfaatnya. Perubahan pemahaman dan pengetahuan peserta  dapat dilihat dari peningkatan jumlah peserta yang mengetahui dan memahami tentang HKm berdasarkan pre-test dan post-test yaitu hanya 16,67%  peserta yang mengetahui tentang HKm pada saat awal kegiatan dan meningkat menjadi 100% (semua peserta) pada akhir kegiatan. An Assistance in Protected Forest Management at HKm Lestari 1, Tumbang Nusa Village, Pulang Pisau Regency Abstract Community forests (HKm) are forests whose management rights are granted to community groups to be utilised for the purpose of improving the community's economy. The existence of HKm Lestari 1 in Tumbang Nusa Village has not been optimally managed due to a lack of understanding among members regarding the sustainable management and utilisation of HKm, even though HKm Lestari 1 has obtained a legal permit to manage the forest from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry in 2023. The objective of this activity was to increase participants' understanding of the existence, function and benefits of Community Forests (HKm), which was carried out in September 2025 in Tumbang Nusa Village, Jabiren Raya Sub-district, Pulang Pisau Regency, with participants consisting of the administrators and members of HKm Lestari 1. The method of implementing this activity combines lectures and map demonstrations as an educational approach to strengthening understanding of the HKm area, which has not been widely applied in Central Kalimantan before. The lecture method was carried out by presenting material related to HKm to increase community knowledge in HKm management, while the map demonstration was carried out to involve the community in mapping areas within the production zone that can be utilised by the community in accordance with the conditions of the zone and to explore in more detail the participants' knowledge of the existence of HKm, zones, functions and benefits. Changes in participants' understanding and knowledge can be seen from the increase in the number of participants who know and understand HKm based on pre-tests and post-tests, namely only 16.67% of participants who knew about HKm at the beginning of the activity and increased to 100% (all participants) at the end of the activity.
