Abstract

The mineral water is water that obtained directly from it sources, then processed with special treatment and packed. Mineral water may contained metal contamination, such as zinc and iron, which comes from water distribution pipes, production equipment, or even from other source that contains zinc and iron. Zinc and iron in large amount can cause toxicity for the body. This research aimed to know presence and amount of zinc and iron in refill drinking mineral water by atomic absorption spectrophotometry method. Samples were acidified with concentrated HNO3, then were evaporated and analyzed by qualitative and quantitative method. The amount obtained by entering absorbance data obtained from standard mutual curve regression equation. The research results showed that all samples of refill mineral drinking water are containing zinc and iron. The zinc content of the sample A (0.0011 ± 0.0005) ppm, the sample B (0.0019 ± 0.0000) ppm, sample C (0.0100 ±0.0004) ppm. The iron content of sample A (0.0176 ± 0.0015) ppm, the sample B (0.0176 ± 0.0015) ppm, sample C (0.0187 ± 0.0022) ppm. The amount of zinc and iron in three drinking water samples met the requirements set by the Indonesian National Standard No. 01-0220 - 1987.

Abstract

The development of herbal cosmetic products are currently increasing rapidly. One of them is a serum that is preferred by the community because it is more comfortable to use and easier to spread on the surface of the skin.. In general, serum contains antioxidant compounds that are potential as anti-aging in which the formula associated with antioxidant components in it. Ethanol extracts of wangon leaves have been studied to contain flavonoid compounds which have antioxidant potential. This research aims to make purified extracts of wangon leaves and then make serum cosmetic preparations that are tested for their physical quality and antioxidant stability and to test their potential as a sunscreen so that innovation can be expected to be produced. The study began with extracts made with 96% ethanol solvent. Subsequently, fractination has been carried out on crude extracts using liquid-liquid extraction methods, which successively use n-hexane and ethyl acetate solvents. The flavonoid content in purified extracts was monitored with TLC. Furthermore, a serum formulation was made with purified extract of wangon leaf extract and physical quality tests were carried out on the preparation including organoleptic, pH, viscosity and homogeneity. Furthermore, purified extracts and serum preparations were tested for their antioxidant activity by DPPH method and UV-Vis spectrophotometric determination. The results showed that purified leaves of wangon leaves had IC50 values ​​of 41.98 µg / mL better when compared to crude extracts with IC50 65.32 µg / mL. Serum preparations had an IC50 value of 71.30 µg / mL and were classified as potent antioxidants. After the preparation has been stored for 30 days, the antioxidant remains stable. In addition, the serum also had potential as a UV filter with an SPF value of 19.50 ± 0.02 which has been categorized as providing medium protection against UV B.

Abstract

AbstractPain is an uncomfortable feeling that is often felt by the majority of the Indonesian people. Pain involves two aspects: psychological and physiological both affected by factors such as culture, age, environment and support systems, past experience, anxiety and stress. The purpose of the program of activities of community service is to prov ide knowledge about the definition and the factors that influence pain, especially joint and muscle pain as well as provide training for people Tegal Mulyo RT 01 RW 04, Tegalmulyo village Mojosongo, district Jebres in the manufacture of balsam methyl salicylate easy and cheap. The method has been used in this activity is already done counseling about pain relief and making training balm containing metisalisilat to overcome joint and muscle pain. The benefits of this activity is to increase public knowledge about pain, especially joint and muscle pain, as well as increasing the ability of communities to make an ointment Metil Salisilat independently which is easy and cheap.Keywords: Methyl salicylate, balm, joint pain, muscle painAbstrakNyeri adalah perasaan tidak nyaman yang sering dirasakan oleh sebagian besar masyarakat Indonesia. Tujuan dari program kegiatan pelayanan masyarakat adalah untuk memberikan pengetahuan tentang definisi dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi nyeri, terutama nyeri sendi dan otot serta memberikan pelatihan bagi orang Tegal Mulyo RT 01 RW 04, Tegalmulyo Desa Mojosongo, Jebres kabupaten di pembuatan balsam metil salisilat mudah dan murah. Metode ini telah digunakan dalam kegiatan ini sudah dilakukan penyuluhan tentang nyeri dan membuat balm pelatihan yang mengandung metisalisilat untuk mengatasi nyeri sendi dan otot. Abstract

The community and especially children really like snacks such as ice cream. The use of dragon fruit as a component in ice cream is expected to be able to make people enjoy the sweetness and also get the intake of anthocyanins, especially those with antioxidant properties. The purpose of this activity is to provide skills training in the use of dragon fruit as the main component for ice cream making to PKK members in Kadipiro sub-district, Banjarsari District, Surakarta. The service activity begins with an explanation of the usefulness of dragon fruit and its phytochemical content. After that it was continued with training in making ice cream to PKK members. The training activities were divided into several stages starting from the tutorial then continued with mentoring from the team and ended with an evaluation of the implementation of the activities. The results from this activity are 1) participants have the understanding about nutrition of dragon fruit; 2) They understand procedure to make home made dragon fruit ice cream; 3) they able to make ice cream by themselves

Abstract

Cairan pencuci piring merupakan cairan kental bening berwarna yang berfungsi untuk membersihkan peralatan makan seperti piring, gelas, sendok/garpu. Kecenderungan pemakaian produk pencuci cair dari waktu ke waktu semakin meningkat. Hal ini menunjukkan jika pola pencucian peralatan rumah tangga mulai bergeser dari cara yang lama/tradisional dengan abu gosok dan sabun colek menuju cara baru yang lebih praktis. Adanya bentuk beruipa cairan menjadikan praktis dan mudah digunakan serta aroma produk yang khas menjsdikan cairan pencuci piring mempunyai nilai lebih dibandingkan produk pencuci piring yang lain. Bahan tanaman kaya akan senyawa yang mempunyai aktivitas antibakteri di antaranya minyak lemon. Selain digunakan sebagai zat aktif antibakteri, minyak lemon juga dapat dimanfaatkan untuk memberikan bau aromatic pada sediaan cairan pencuci piring.Bahan-bahan baku pembuatan cairan pencuci piring ini mudah diperoleh dengan bahan-bahan golongan sabun, garam, emulgator, pewangi dan pewarna. Cara pembuatannya juga sederhana dengan menggunakan prinsip melarutkan antar bahan yang digunakan. Oleh karena itu, berdasarkan dari uaraian di atas cairan pencuci piring mempunyai potensi dapatdikembangkan sebagai produk usaha mandiri yang dipasrkan secara komersial.Tujuan dari program kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah memberikan pelatihan pembautan cairan pencuci piring kepada kader PKK lingkungan Suko Mulyo kelurahan Kadipiro Banjarsari Surakarta. Selain itu juga diadakan pelatihan terkait peluang untuk dikembangkan sebagai usaha mandiri warga. Kegiatan pengabdian dibagi menjadi beberapa tahapan dimulai dari survei dan observasi, dilanjutkan dengan pelatihan berupa tutorial kemuadian dilakukan pendampingan dari tim pengabdi dan diakhiri dengan evaluasi kegiatan.

Abstract

Karakteristik kritis nano-structured lipid carrier (NLC) sangat dipengaruhi oleh komponen lipid padat dan lipid cair dalam sistem. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh panjang rantai karbon dalam lipid padat terhadap karakteristik NLC. Resveratrol sebagai senyawa antioksidan digunakan sebagai model obat. Sebanyak 3 formula NLC dibuat dengan variasi tipe lemak padat yaitu asam stearat, asam palmitat, dan asam miristat. Lemak padat dengan loading 5%, lemak cair dengan loading 2%, dan Tween 80 dengan loading 4,2% sebagai surfaktan. NLC dibuat dengan metode emulsi diikuti dengan sonikasi untuk memperkecil ukuran partikel. NLC resveratrol dikarakterisasi dengan parameter ukuran partikel, zeta potensial, efisiensi penjerapan, kecepatan pelepasan obat (fluks), dan stabilitas aktivitas antioksidan. Ketiga NLC resveratrol yang diperoleh memiliki karakteristik ukuran partikel 150-280 nm, potensial zeta (-4 mV) – (-15mV), efisiensi penjerapan >80%, nilai fluks 0,02-0,12 mg.cm-2.menit-1, dan penurunan aktivitas antioksidan 5-8% selama penyimpanan 30 hari. Panjang rantai karbon mempengaruhi pembentukan partikel nano dari NLC dengan hubungan parabola dan panjang rantai karbon optimum akan menghasilkan partikel dengan ukuran minimum. Zeta potensial dari ketiga formula menunjukkan perbedaan yang tidak bermakna (p>0,05). Panjang rantai karbon memberikan pengaruh terhadap efisiensi penjerapan secara bermakna (p<0,05). Formula NLC asam palmitat memiliki fluks paling tinggi. Aktivitas antioksidan ketiga formula tidak berbeda bermakna (p>0,05).

Abstract

Furosemide is a potent diuretic drug that has low bioavailability. Furosemide can be formulated into nanoemulsion preparations using the SNEDDS method to increase its bioavailability as SNEDDS can form stable nanoemulsions with droplet sizes is less than 200 nm. This study aims to identify the optimum formula for variations in the concentration of surfactant Tween 80 and cosurfactant PEG 400 based on the characterization tests of emulsification time, percent transmittance, and drug loading. The independent variables used in this study were Tween 80 and PEG 400. Seven furosemide SNEDDS formulas from the Simplex Lattice Design (SLD) method were tested for characterization in the form of emulsification time, percent transmittance, and drug loading. The characterization results were optimized using Simplex Lattice Design. The optimum formula was re-characterized, including emulsification time, percent transmittance, drug loading, particle size, zeta potential, and in vitro dissolution. The results were then compared with theoretical values and analyzed using the One-Sample T-test method. Optimization results showed Tween of 61.4922% and PEG 400 of 18.5078% with the characterization of emulsification time 15.25 seconds, percentage transmittance 94.20%, drug loading 50 100.2 ppm, particle size 12.18 nm. Furthermore, the zeta potential was -17.6 mV, and the in vitro dissolution rate reached 106.71% within 15 minutes.

Abstract

The ethyl acetate fraction of the ethanol extract of roselle flower petals (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) was reported to have an SPF value of 13.83 ± 1.50 which was higher than the ethanol extract. So with the SPF value, the ethyl acetate fraction of roselle flower ethanol extract can be used as a sunscreen. One of the cosmetic preparations that is currently growing rapidly is serum. The purpose of this study was to formulate the ethyl acetate fraction of roselle petals into a serum that had good physical quality with variations in the concentration of xanthan gum and then the SPF value was determined. This research begins with the manufacture of ethanol extract of roselle petals. Then fractionation (liquid-liquid partition) was carried out using solvents with different polarities, namely n-hexane and ethyl acetate. Furthermore, the ethyl acetate fraction was formulated into serum with variations in the concentration of xanthan gum 0.3%, respectively; 0.6% and 1.2% were then tested for physical quality and stability. The next step is to determine the SPF value of the serum by using the UV spectrophotometric method and its calculation using the Mansur equation. The results showed that the serum ethyl acetate fraction of the ethanolic extract of roselle petals could be made into gel preparations with good physical qualities including organoleptic, viscosity, pH and homogeneity. Serum ethyl acetate fraction ethanol extract of roselle flower formulas 1, 2 and 3 had SPF values F1 respectively, namely 6.8595 ± 0.08 which included moderate protection potential; F2 is 7.0089 ± 0.17; and F3 which is 8.2251 ± 0.32 with extra protection potential. Variations in the concentration of xanthan gum in the serum formula affect the physical quality of the viscosity and potency of sunscreen preparations..

Abstract

Paparan radikal bebas yang berasal dari polusi udara yang kita hirup, polutan yang langsung kontak dengan kulit kita maupun makanan dan minuman yang kita konsumsi dapat memicu timbulnya berbagai jenis penyakit. Berbagai cara dilakukan untuk pengobatan jika kita sudah terlanjur sakit dan biaya yang dikeluarkan juga mahal. Oleh karena itu perlu diupayakan tindakan pencegahan (preventif) dan peningkatan derajat kesehatan (promotif) supaya terhindar dari berbagai penyakit tersebut dengan biaya yang jauh lebih terjangkau. Penggunaan antioksidan alami sebagai upaya tindakan preventif dan promotif kesehatan dinilai sebagai tindakan yanglebih baik karena bahan kimia berpotensi menimbulkan efek yang berbahaya.Tujuan dari program kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah memberikan pengetahuan sekaligus pelatihan ketrampilan masyarakat khususnya wilayah Praon Nusukan Banjarsari Surakarta tentang pemanfaatan bunga rosella sebagai bahan pangan dan bahan tambahan pangan (BTP) alami serta sediaan kosmetik yang mudah pembuatannya, murah harganya serta berkhasiat untuk kesehatan.Kata kunci: Bunga Rosella, Krim, Bahan Tambahan Pangan, Antioksidan

Abstract

Tidak semua anggota masyarakat paham pentingnya Perilaku Hidup Bersih dan Sehat (PHBS) contohnya cuci tangan sebagai salah satu upaya dalam pencegahan penularan virus corona. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mendukung program pemerintah dalam pencegahan penularan/ penyebaran virus corona dengan memberikan edukasi serta diseminasi pembuatan sabun cuci tangan kepada kader PKK di lingkungan Sukomulyo Kadipiro Banjarsari Surakarta. Kegiatan pengabdian dimulai dari perijinan kepada ketua RT dan Lurah Kadipiro. Selanjutnya dilakukan pretest untuk mengetahui tingkat pengetahuan peserta terkait PHBS serta pembuatan sabun cuci tangan. Selanjutnya dilakukan pelatihan pembuatan sabun cuci tangan. Tahapan akhir adalah evaluasi postest melalui kuesioner yang dibagikan kepada peserta dan hasilnya dibandingkan dengan hasil pretest dan diuji statistik. Hasil kegiatan berupa produk sabun cuci tangan dikemas dalam wadah yang menarik dapat dikembangkan untuk usaha mandiri warga. Hasil uji statistik menunjukkan bahwa peserta pelatihan memahami proses pembuatan sabun cuci tangan ditandai ada perbedaan signifikan (alfa<0.05) pada uji statistik.
