Abstract

This article aims to examine the dynamics of the education system in Private Islamic Religious Higher Education Institutions (Perguruan Tinggi Keagamaan Islam Swasta/PTKIS) in Indonesia through a systematic review approach. The study was conducted by identifying, evaluating, and synthesizing a range of scholarly articles, policy reports, and relevant documents published over the past ten years. The method involved searching academic databases using specific keywords, selecting documents based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, and conducting thematic analysis of key emerging issues. The findings indicate that PTKIS in Indonesia face various challenges, including institutional governance, funding, academic quality, and graduate competitiveness. On the other hand, several innovations and strategic initiatives have been undertaken by PTKIS to improve educational quality, expand access, and strengthen collaboration with external parties. Abstract

Abstract

The Islamic education system plays a strategic role in shaping a generation that is not only intellectually competent but also spiritually and morally grounded. This article examines the implementation of Islamic education by focusing on three key aspects: strategic planning, resource management, and quality assurance. The study is motivated by the urgent need for Islamic education to respond to contemporary challenges, particularly in an era marked by globalization and digital transformation, which demand an education system that is both relevant and competitive. This research employs a qualitative approach through a comprehensive literature review of policy documents, scholarly sources, and field practices observed in various Islamic educational institutions. The findings reveal that effective implementation strategies must be grounded in a clear vision and mission, well-developed strategic planning, and strong, visionary leadership. Efficient management of resources—particularly qualified educators, infrastructure, and funding—significantly contributes to the success of the learning process. Moreover, an integrated and continuous quality assurance system is crucial for maintaining educational standards and ensuring institutional accountability. In today’s context, the integration of Islamic values with modern management practices, adopting information technology, is vital in advancing a high-quality, adaptive, and globally competitive Islamic education system. This study recommends fostering stronger collaboration among the government, educational institutions, and society to establish a holistic and sustainable framework for Islamic education.   Keywords: Islamic education, implementation strategy, educational resources, education quality, Islamic education management

Abstract

Gamification is the application of game elements in non-game settings, such as points, badges, leaderboards, and challenges. In the library context, it is emerging as an innovative strategy to attract Generation Z, who are digital natives and prefer interactive and engaging experiences. Traditional library services often fail to meet the expectations of this generation, making it necessary to explore new approaches that align with their preferences. This study aims to explore the implementation of gamification in library services and assess its effectiveness in increasing the engagement of Generation Z users. A descriptive-qualitative method was employed through literature review, analyzing scholarly articles, research reports, and relevant case studies. The findings show that gamification can increase participation in literacy programs, boost visits to physical and digital libraries, and enhance user motivation. Elements like daily challenges, digital rewards, and leaderboards create a fun and competitive atmosphere that resonates well with Gen Z. In conclusion, gamification presents a promising solution to modernize library services and make them more inclusive, user-friendly, and aligned with the behavior and expectations of today’s younger generation.
