Abstract

This research aimed to evaluate the relevance of the English teaching materials in the textbook “My Next Words (For Elementary School 5)” concerning the values of religious moderation as adopted in primary schools. The textbook has received endorsement from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, highlighting the importance of evaluating its alignment with the government's religious moderation standards. The research methodology employed content analysis of the textbook to identify content related to religious moderation values. Surveys and interviews with elementary school teachers using this textbook provided insights into its utilization and its reflection of religious moderation values in teaching practices. The results indicated that the textbook primarily focuses on language skills, with limited integration of religious moderation values. It lacks sensitive language usage and activities promoting interfaith understanding. However, it does feature diverse character names associated with specific religious groups and incorporates some aspects of cultural diversity. Educators expressed the importance of integrating religious moderation values into English language teaching materials, but they found the current materials lacking in this regard. In conclusion, the textbook “My Next Words: For Elementary School” for Grade V requires improvements to better integrate religious moderation values. These enhancements will contribute to a more inclusive and relevant English language learning experience for elementary school students, fostering tolerance and interfaith harmony.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an interactive E-Module to enhance creative thinking among EFL students in academic writing, specifically essay writing. This study used research and development (R&D) with the ADDIE model, which encompasses five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The subject of this study involved 23 students of the English Language Education Study Program from a state university in Gresik, Indonesia. The research instruments included questionnaires and interviews in the need analysis stage, validation forms in the development stage to obtain review and recommendations from the expert validators, and evaluation questionnaires to discover students’ responses towards the implementation of the E-Module. Data were analyzed using mixed methods of descriptive qualitative and quantitative. The results showed that experts validated E-Module’s high quality, with minor revisions. In addition, students’ responses indicated strong effectiveness, with 83% reporting improved understanding and motivation. Furthermore, experts and students confirmed that the E-Module demonstrated practicality through ease of use and structured progression. Overall, experts and students perceive the interactive E-Modul developed in this study as a valuable tool for fostering critical thinking and independent learning.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the effect of chitosan characteristics produced from the deacetylation of chitin with various concentrations of NaOH on its solubility in liquid smoke. Chitin produced from rajungan shell raw materials was deacetylated using 40% NaOH (K40%), 50% (K50%), and 60% (K60%). The resulting chitosan was then measured of its degree of deacetylation (DD), molecular weight (BM), and solubility in liquid smoke. The results showed that K40% had a DD of 56.99%, K50% had a DD of 72.86% and a BM of 149.1 kDa, also K60% had a DD of 82.87% and a BM of 102.6 kDa. The solubility of chitosan in 10% liquid smoke indicated that K40% was not dissolved, K50% was almost completely dissolved, and K60% was completely dissolved.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of non-specialist teacher competence on the success of Arabic language learning at MI Nurul Huda Karangtalok, Pemalang. The research employed a quantitative approach using an explanatory research design with a correlational method. The population consisted of 60 students, all of whom were selected as the research sample using a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected using a closed-ended questionnaire based on a five-point Likert scale to measure non-specialist teacher competence and learning success. The data were analyzed using validity and reliability tests, normality tests, simple linear regression, t-tests, and coefficient of determination analysis. The results revealed that non-specialist teacher competence had a positive and significant effect on the success of Arabic language learning, with a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05). The coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.360, indicating that teacher competence accounted for 36.0% of learning success. These findings suggest that non-specialist teacher competence plays an important role in improving Arabic language learning success at the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah level.

Abstract

 Produk hukum desa merupakan kumpulan dari peraturan yang diberlakukan untuk desa seperti peraturan desa, peraturan kepala desa, peraturan bersama kepala desa, dan peraturan BPD. Desa diberikan hak otonomi desa, khusus dalam rangka desa dapat memutuskan kebijakan yang berdasarkan kebutuhan dan asas-asas yang berlaku. Namun, terkadang masih tidak optimal dalam menggunakan hak otonomi dalam membuat produk hukum desa sehingga peraturan yang dibuat tidak sesuai dengan tujuan dan bahkan tidak mempunyai timbal balik terhadap masyarakat desa. Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah membantu desa dalam mengoptimalkan pembentukan produk hukum desa melalui pendampingan akademisi dan masyarakat yang partisipatif agar efektif dan efisien. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah sosiologis empiris dengan teknik observasi dan wawancara untuk menemukan data- data valid dan dapat dipertanggungjawabkan. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui proses pembentukan produk hukum desa di Kabupaten Sumenep mulai dari tahap-tahap pembentukan hingga diundangkan. Selanjutnya, menemukan upaya-upaya yang dilakukan pemerintah desa dalam mengoptimalkan pembentukan produk hukum desa di kabupaten sumenep sehingga dapat di jadikan contoh oleh desa yang berada di daerah lainnya. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah pemerintahan desa dapat menggunakan hak otonomi dengan optimal terutama dalam membuat produk hukum desa sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan berdasarkan asas-asas yang telah di tentukan dalam peraturan perundang-undangan guna mewujudkan kemandirian desa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji efisiensi dari kitosan dan tawas sebagai koagulan untuk pengolahan air gambut. Dosis dan pH optimum koagulasi ditentukan berdasarkan penurunan turbiditas dan kadar senyawa organik dalam air gambut setelah dikoagulasi dengan kitosan dan tawas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dosis optimum untuk kitosan sebesar 5 mg/L dan tawas sebesar 15 mg/L dengan penurunan turbiditas sebesar 81,91% dan 76,28%. Koagulasi oleh kitosan dan tawas dipengaruhi oleh pH, dimana koagulasi oleh kitosan berlangsung optimum pada pH 8 dengan penurunan turbiditas sebesar 83,36%. Untuk tawas, pH optimum koagulasi adalah pada pH 7 dengan penurunan turbiditas sebesar 88,02%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tawas lebih efektif dibandingkan dengan kitosan dalam menurunkan kadar senyawa organik pada air gambut.

Abstract

This study analyzes the narrative of Ashābul Fīl in Surah al-Fīl through Muhammad Ahmad Khalafullah's al-fann al-qashāṣī framework. While classical exegesis largely emphasizes the historical dimension of the event, limited research systematically applies Khalafullah's literary-narrative approach to short Makkiyyah surahs. This study addresses that gap by examining the aesthetic structure, symbolism, and theological meaning of QS. al-Fīl beyond historiographical concerns. Using a qualitative-descriptive design with a literary-hermeneutic approach, the research is based on textual analysis of the Qur'an, classical and modern tafsīr, and Khalafullah's theoretical works. Narrative structural analysis and thematic interpretation are employed to identify symbolic and theological patterns within the text. The findings show that QS. al-Fīl presents a dramatic structure consisting of threat, divine intervention, and the destruction of tyranny. The symbols of ṭayran abābīl and ḥijārah min sijjīl function as theological metaphors representing divine sovereignty and moral accountability. This study demonstrates that Khalafullah's approach enriches contemporary Qur'anic interpretation by integrating aesthetics, symbolism, and theology. Globally, the research highlights the Qur'an's ethical relevance in addressing injustice, authoritarianism, and moral crisis in modern society.
