Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic changed the learning atmosphere in Indonesia and over the world, from offline to online. Lecturers and students inevitably had to accept the change in learning direction imposed by the government to avoid the ferocity of the pandemic. This study aimed to describe the online learning experience of three Islamic Religious Education students through a phenomenological approach. The authors collected the data through in-depth interviews, transcribed it verbatim into a solid description, and analyzed it through descriptive-psychological phenomenology procedures. This research showed that online learning was an interesting experience at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. However, it ended up disappointing because it was not optimal and ineffective, constrained by many obstacles, and expensive. More than that, the fatal impact for students was learning loss characterized by stress, loss of learning motivation and decreased knowledge/skills due to learning outputs. The results of this study recommended that educational policymakers, education practitioners, and parents should make efforts to assist students so they can get out of the learning loss phenomenon after the pandemic has passed.

Abstract

This study explores the role of Majelis Taklim Pitulasan in fostering women’s spiritual transformation in Kampung Magersaren, Blitar. The research adopts a qualitative approach using a case study method, with data collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model to ensure the validity and accuracy of the findings. The findings reveal that Majelis Taklim Pitulasan plays a significant role as a facilitator, motivator, and educator in enhancing the spirituality of its female members. The assembly reinforces religious discipline, such as consistent prayer practices, and provides psychological benefits, including increased inner peace and self-confidence. Furthermore, the fiqh al-nisā’ (women’s jurisprudence) studies delivered in the group have helped participants better understand and appreciate women’s roles in Islam. The assembly also contributes to building social solidarity through voluntary contributions and community-based activities that strengthen bonds among its members. This study affirms that non-formal religious education through majelis taklim has a transformative impact on women’s religious lives, both in ritual and social aspects. The findings underscore the importance of optimizing community-based learning methods to enhance the effectiveness of sustainable Islamic education.

Abstract

The study aimed to describe the impact of Fiqh learning actions using the Make-a-Match method on the cooperative skills of eleventh-grade students at Madrasah Aliyah Muhammadiyah 1 Kota Malang. This research used a qualitative approach with class action research (CAR) designed with two cycles. The study subjects were students in the 11th grade of the Department of Social Sciences Education (IPS), which had 18 students. Researchers collected data through observations, interviews, and documentation during the class action process. They then analyzed it through the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana procedures. Research results showed that the Make-a-Match method improved students' collaborative skills. Each of the collaborative skills indicators showed an improvement from cycle I to cycle II. The match-seeking technique required in applying this learning method instructed students to actively follow learning, be responsible as group members, interact, and collaborate.
