Abstract

AbstractScience literacy is an essential ability that elementary school students must possess. Science literacy can be developed in the learning and assessment process. Science literacy assessment requires a specific measuring instrument by prioritizing the HOTS cognitive concept. The development of science literacy assessment instrument adopted from the Djemari Mardapi Model aims to obtain the reliable instrument for gauging the students’ science literacy skills. Involving experts, teachers as practitioners, and essential education experts, the assessment instrument was developed in the form of a game-based multiple-choice test with Quizizz. The instrument testing was conducted in grades 4, 5 and 6 of one of Islamic Elementary School in Malang Regency, Indonesia. The analysis of the instrument consisted of content validity and test reliability. The development results revealed that the instrument met the perfect content validity and the empirical test with a very high-test reliability value (0.89). The assessment process by Quizizz game showed that the students were very enthusiastic. Despite the promising results as shown in this study, it is still necessary to enhance the science literacy skills of students by familiarizing them with HOTS-based cognitive questions.Keywords: science literacy, HOTS game-based assessment, empirical validity. AbstrakLiterasi sains merupakan kemampuan esensial yang harus dimiliki siswa sekolah dasar. Literasi sains dapat dikembangkan dalam proses pembelajaran dan penilaian. Penilaian literasi sains memerlukan alat ukur khusus dengan mengutamakan konsep kognitif HOTS. Pengembangan instrumen asesmen literasi sains yang diadopsi dari Model Djemari Mardapi bertujuan untuk mendapatkan instrumen yang handal untuk mengukur kemampuan literasi sains siswa. Melibatkan pakar, guru sebagai praktisi, dan pakar pendidikan esensial, instrumen penilaian dikembangkan dalam bentuk tes pilihan ganda berbasis permainan dengan Quizizz. Uji coba instrumen dilakukan di kelas 4, 5 dan 6 salah satu Madrasah Ibtidaiyah di Kabupaten Malang, Indonesia. Analisis instrumen terdiri dari validitas isi dan uji reliabilitas. Hasil pengembangan menunjukkan bahwa instrumen memenuhi validitas isi sempurna dan uji empiris dengan nilai reliabilitas tes sangat tinggi (0,89). Proses penilaian dengan permainan Quizizz menunjukkan bahwa siswa sangat antusias. Terlepas dari hasil yang menjanjikan seperti yang ditunjukkan dalam penelitian ini, masih perlu untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi sains siswa dengan membiasakan mereka dengan soal-soal kognitif berbasis HOTS.Kata kunci: literasi sains, penilaian berbasis permainan HOTS, validitas empiris.

Abstract

Globalisation has a significant influence on the world of education. The emergence of technology supports the implementation of services in providing school financial accountability through a digital payment information system. Therefore, this research aims to review the effectiveness and efficiency of the application of SIPS-MUDA in providing payment information using a case study with a mixed-method approach. Data was collected through interviews, observations, documentation, and surveys. Meanwhile, the data were analysed using John Cresswell's model analysis technique. The results showed that the school payment information system effectively controlled misinformation and omission of human error factors related to the data. A survey of 46 parents also indicated that more than 80% agreed on the effectiveness and efficiency of the implementation of SIPS-MUDA. This was based on the validity of payment information, task completion, time behaviour, and customer satisfaction. In conclusion, the application of SIPS-MUDA can be categorised as very effective in providing school payment information services. Virtual accounts are a recommendation for manual input constraints, and schools can utilise bank CSR funds in cooperation.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the mathematical elements contained in the center of the sanitation industry in Malang City. The Sanitary Industry Setra is in the form of flower pots, gravestones, tombstones, fountains, hand washing stations, chairs, and so on. The object is an object of exploration based on an ethnomathematical point of view. This study uses a qualitative approach to the type of ethnographic research. The subjects in the study were sanitary ware craftsmen in the Karangbesuki area of Malang City. The subject is experienced and has a fairly large turnover. Data collection techniques in the study were carried out by observation or direct observation in the field, interviews, and also by studying literature. This research will provide evidence that without realizing it, people have applied the concepts of comparison, calculation and mathematical measurement in creating an object of crafts that have been carried out since ancient times. The mathematical implementation carried out by craftsmen produces crafts in the form of spatial geometric shapes such as: blocks, tubes, half balls, and others. In creating craft objects, researchers also found the concept result from geometric transformations such as: of translation, rotation, and also reflection on some of the crafts produced.

Abstract

Learning media is important to support student learning achievements. Numeral Snakes and Ladders (NSL) is an interactive learning media innovation for elementary schools with an interesting and fun cooperative learning approach for students. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of media in learning and improve students' understanding of basic data literacy. The research used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. NSL Media was implemented at SDN Gebanganom, Kangkung District, Kendal Regency, with the entire student population in grade 4 and grade 5. Data collection was carried out using direct tests. The sampling technique for this research is saturated sampling. Data analysis was carried out using a paired sample T-test. The research results showed that by testing using the paired sample T-test, evidence was <0.05 obtained that the two groups before and after using NSL media experienced a significant increase.  Apart from that, learning using NSL media can affect students' cognitive abilities, the effect can be concluded from the test increase from 78.2 to 82.1. The characteristics of students observed during the learning process are honesty, responsibility, and spiritual attitudes well developed. Apart from that, teachers can develop and direct social and spiritual skills and attitudes in learning in the hope that students can grow and develop according to their phases and have quality learning outcomes.

Abstract

Self-Efficacy is one of the factors that can affect students' mathematical communication ability. Focus Self-Efficacy in this study, namely students' self-confidence in mathematical communication ability in written mathematics, especially material systems of linear equations. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect Self-Efficacy on the mathematical communication ability of class X MAN 2 Malang. This research approach uses a quantitative causal comparative method. The sample in this study amounted to 32 students obtained from the sampling technique simple random sampling. Obtaining data in this study is in the form of related questionnaire results Self-Efficacy consisting of 25 statement items and 4 descriptive test items to measure students' mathematical communication ability. The results of this study indicate that students' mathematical communication ability are influenced by Self-Efficacy 81.7% which is categorized as very strong and the remaining 18.3% is influenced by other factors. Thus, it can be stated that Self-Efficacy has a significant effect on the mathematical communication ability of class X MAN 2 Malang students in the material of systems of linear equations. Therefore, teachers must continue to encourage increasing student Self-Efficacy. Because with high Self-Efficacy, students' mathematical communication abilities will also be high, so that student learning outcomes will also increase.

Abstract

Purpose – Consuming drugs together with food or drink has become a community habit, especially in Gadingkembar. This habit hurts body health for certain conditions as a side effect. Therefore, this outreach aims to increase the health awareness of the Gadingkembar regarding drug interactions with nutrients. Design/methodology/approach– This counseling was carried out using a Community-Based Interactive Approach (CBIA) through the PKK and Gadingkembar Posyandu. This counseling involved health experts from the Jabung Health Center. The population in the activity is the entire community in Gadingkembar. Meanwhile, samples as a result of extension activities were taken randomly from participants who were involved in extension assistance. Extension assistance activities are carried out through three stages, namely Preparation, Implementation, and Evaluation. Findings – The results of counseling assistance activities showed a significant change in public understanding after counseling on drug interactions with nutrients. These results also confirmed through observations of people who were taking medication. It is valid that the community has understood well and in practice, the impact of the extension has been considered successful. Originality/value – This Counseling activity can increase awareness and change the behavior of the Gadingkembar regarding drug interactions with nutrients in the form of food or drinks for better health.

Abstract

Teacher competence is directly proportional to  student learning quality. The purpose of this study was to prove whether teacher competence positively impacts the quality of learning. The study was conducted on 127 state madrasah teachers in Malang Regency and Batu City. Data was collected using a questionnaire via Google Form with a semantic differential scale (1-10). The instrument was developed in accordance with the teacher competence law and has met the quality requirements of content testing by experts and obtained empirical evidence in the SEM analysis with CFI (Comparative Fit Index) results, 0.926, RMSEA 0.110, CI (Confidence interval) 0.0937-0.126, and Reliability 0,95. The test of the influence of teacher competence on the quality of learning was carried out using linear regression analysis. The results of the data analysis obtained in the study showed a positive influence of teacher competence on the quality of learning by 90.8%. The results of measurements with the instrument used by the researcher can be a reference in measuring teacher competence;; the better the teacher's competence is, the more directly proportional it is to the quality of learning.

Abstract

Curved Side Spaces (BRSL) in learning need to be presented with learning media to make it easier for students to understand the concept. This research aims to produce learning media based on technology and cultural values. The media in question is (BRUSLE) an Android application that can be accessed via mobile with augmented reality hologram content and integrated traditional Engklek game in the learning process. Development research was conducted using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The development was carried out based on a needs analysis at MTs N 2 Malang grade 7 in 2023 Mathematics Subjects on BRSL material. The developed product was carried out content validity by 3 experts (media, mathematics learning, and practitioners / teachers) to continue the feasibility test. The first stage feasibility test was conducted on 29 students from MTs N 2 Malang while the second stage feasibility test was conducted on 32 students from MTs N 3 Malang. product quality is interpreted through student questionnaire feedback after taking part in learning with BRUSLE. The quality of the product was also tested on the test results of students' comprehension skills. Data presentation is descriptive to describe the entire series of development process. The products produced in the development research can be concluded that BRUSLE Android APPS based on Hologram Augmented Reality on Engklek ethno-game-based learning is feasible and effective to use to improve students' concept understanding.

Abstract

Problem solving ability with Computational Thinking strategy is important for students. The study aims to determine the differences in mathematical problem solving ability with computational thinking on statistics material through the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model and conventional methods in class VII MTs Daarul Uluum Blitar. The study was conducted with a quasi-experiment through a pretest-posttest design with nonequivalent control group. Saturated samples were used in the study with class VII-B as the experimental class by implementing PBL and class VII-C as the control class. Data collection was carried out with a computational thinking ability test: decomposition, pattern recognition, abstraction, and algorithms to solve mathematical problems on statistics material. An independent sample t-test was conducted to answer the problem formulation. The results showed a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.019 (α <0.05), with an average pretest and posttest of the experimental class of 49 and 63, while the control class was 32 and 54. These findings indicate that the PBL model is effective in improving mathematical problem solving abilities based on computational thinking.

Abstract

This study aims to determine students' cognitive abilities in discovery learning through geometric-literacy questions in class VIII MTsN Batu City. The study used a quasi-experimental quantitative approach to students in class VIII-G and VIII-H who were selected through a random sampling technique. Data collection techniques used were cognitive tests in the form of descriptions and semi-structured interviews. While the data analysis technique used the independent t test through the prerequisite test in the form of the Kormogrov-Smirnov normality test and the Cronbach alpha reliability using the SPSS version 24.0 application. The results showed that there were two categories of cognitive abilities in discovery learning through geometric-literacy questions in the experimental class, namely (1) students with high cognitive abilities were at stage C6 and numeration level 6 in the form of communication, mathematical, reasoning, argument and choosing strategies . (2) students with moderate cognitive abilities are at stage C5 and numeracy level 4. In the form of mathematical, reasoning, communication, and strategy selection abilities.
