Kata-kata Kunci: asesmen sumatif; kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi; pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia Abstract This study aims to describe the suitability of the end-of-year summative assessment in Indonesian language learning in Class X based on the Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) category at SMA Edu Global School. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study. The data obtained came from the end-of-year summative assessment in the Indonesian language subject of class X SMA Edu Global School Cirebon in the 2024/2025 academic year. The data collection technique used observation and documentation. The data analysis technique used a qualitative question analysis process with the provisions of Bloom's taxonomy using operational verbs (KKO), focusing on the dimensions of the cognitive process, after which the results of the descriptive data analysis were in accordance with the findings. Based on the results and analysis of the discussion, it is necessary for teachers to increase the creativity of the form of questions according to the cognitive level in High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS), namely C4 (analyzing), C5 (evaluating) and C6 (creating) in order to be able to present HOTS questions in the assessment of student learning outcomes, especially PSAT. The PSAT questions tested on the Indonesian language subject for class X of SMA Edu Global School Cirebon are included in the High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) category. However, it is necessary to consider adding variations in cognitive levels and completing them according to Bloom's taxonomy. These findings can be useful for providing practical recommendations for improving assessment instruments in the future, as well as being the basis for developing more focused teacher training on designing effective and relevant HOTS questions.

Abstract

In the context of an escalating global environmental crisis, this study aims to address the crucial role of language teaching by comparatively analyzing the representation of ecocentric discourse in six official Indonesian junior high school language textbooks under the 2013 and Merdeka Curricula. Employing a qualitative content analysis methodology, the findings reveal a critical deficit of ecocentric content, with only 70 instances identified across all books. A systematic regression was observed, with ecocentric representations decreasing by grade level in both the 2013 Curriculum (from 41 to 9, then 3) and the Merdeka Curriculum (from 14 to 2, then 1). Comparatively, the newer Merdeka Curriculum, with only 17 total findings, exhibits a significant decline from the 2013 Curriculum's 53 findings. The study concludes that this marginalization of environmental discourse is not a reflection of authorial shortcomings but a systemic consequence of a centralized national textbook policy that reduces authorial autonomy. This research contributes a crucial empirical basis for advocating educational policy reform, urging the development of materials that systematically cultivate the ecological literacy required for a sustainable society.

Abstract

The integration of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) in language education demands a fundamental redefinition of the construct of writing assessment. A major challenge currently is the inability of conventional rubrics—which emphasize mechanical accuracy and surface structure—to distinguish between students' cognitive competence and algorithmic sophistication. This article aims to develop a conceptual framework and prototype design of a new analytical rubric for the assessment of argumentative texts that explicitly integrates the AI literacy dimension. Using a conceptual study method, this research synthesizes key references including language assessment theory, the Toulmin argumentation model, and the concept of distributed agency. This research proposes a paradigm shift in assessment from product-oriented to process-oriented through a "co-creation" model. The main result of this research is the design of an analytical rubric with four main dimensions and their proposed weights: (1) Originality and Idea Synthesis (35%), (2) Critical Evaluation of AI Sources and Outputs (30%), (3) Argumentation Logic (25%), and (4) Mechanics (10%), coupled with the prerequisite of Ethical Transparency. This framework not only addresses the issue of plagiarism but is also designed to encourage self-regulated learning strategies. These findings are expected to serve as a reference for educators and policymakers in designing an assessment ecosystem that is valid, ethical, and capable of fostering critical thinking in students in an era of technological disruption.

This research uses descriptive qualitative method. The data used in this study are students' utterances in the form of sentence quotations which show Malay language interference in Indonesian language learning by students at SMK Negeri 1 Sebatik Barat. Based on data analysis, it was found that there were 4 interference factors: (1) being carried away by habits in the mother tongue, (2) insufficient vocabulary of the recipient language, (3) the need for synonyms, and (4) the bilingualism of the speech participants. From these 4 aspects, it can be concluded that the most dominating factor of distraction is the bilingualism of the speech participants.

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to develop and empirically validate a functional literacy competency measurement tool specifically for junior high school students. This instrument can be used by educators and stakeholders to explore and in advanced improve student’s functional literacy skills. The research approach used is the Research & Development (R & D) model. The draft functional literacy competency measurement tool has been validated by teachers, experts and practitioners. This instrument has been discussed in FGDs with teachers from 5 (five) junior high schools in Yogyakarta, The FGD resulted in an agreement on the types of functional literacy consisting of 15 types, namely: literary, digital, document, numerical, environmental, health, tourism, transportation, road safety, language politeness, disaster mitigation, financial, cultural, visual, and social literacy. Product testing was needed as further product development to achieve empirical validity. The number of items was 60 items. The product trial in DIY involved a total of 246 students in grades VII and VIII. The results of the trial analysis with the QUEST program resulted in a probability value at the 0.50 level with an item-based reliability index of 0.98. Mean INFIT MNSQ showed a result of 1.00 with SD. 04, which means the item fits the Rasch model. Items that qualified for the appropriate threshold range (± 2) were 51 items or 85%. The items that were outside the ±2 range were 9 items, meaning that the eliminated items were 15%. Students' functional literacy skills in general mostly did not meet the minimum requirement of 75. Students who scored ≥ 75 were 94 students (38.2%). Meanwhile, 61.8% of students did not meet the standardKeywords: instrument, literacy, functional literacy

Abstract

Anthropocentrism is one of the perspectives applied in figuring out human relations with the environment. The environmental crisis happening in most areas of the world lately is allegedly the impact of anthropocentrism, which views humans as the center of the universe, and only humans have the right to utilize and make use of nature for their interests and needs. One of the environmental crises which hit the world today is deforestation. The description of deforestation and its various consequences can be looked through not only from the news in mass media or research reports, but also from Indonesian and Malaysian novels. This study aims at examining the issue of deforestation described in Indonesian and Malaysian novels. The method applied is a comparative qualitative descriptive with an ecocritical perspective. As data sources, two Indonesian novels and two Malaysian novels were selected, namely Api Awan Asap (Rampan) and Tanah Tabu (Thayf) as the samples of Indonesian novels; Penunggu Rimba: Tombiruo (Mursid) and Anak Belantara (Abdullah) as the samples of Malaysian novels. From an eco-critical perspective, the results of the study show that in the four novels studied, it appears that there is an issue of deforestation in Indonesia and Malaysia which has resulted in various other environmental problems. The four analyzed novels reveal how local wisdom can prevent and fight deforestation which occurs in the forests of Kalimantan and Papua. Added to this, through the novels, Indonesian and Malaysian writers both present ecocentrism perspectives to fight anthropocentrism which causes deforestation. Some different views are expressed by Indonesian and Malaysian writers in dealing with deforestation.
