Abstract

Novel is one of literary works that is quite enjoyed by people. Novel has an important position in describing the reality of life through its storylines. One of them is Guru Aini novel by Andrea Hirata. The novel, which was just published in 2020, told about a teacher who workedin a remote island in Indonesia. The author's view of the teacher as an educator who could be represented by this literary work is constructed in a novel. Based on this, the study aimed to determine the representation of teachers in the Guru Aini novel by Andrea Hirata. The analysis in the research was conducted through the dimensions of literary psychology. The analysis in this study focused on the role of the teacher as an educator in a literary work. The results in this study indicated that the teacher in the novel Guru Aini by Andrea Hirata was represented in a positively charged construction. In this study, it was found that several teacher representations appeared in the novel, namely the representation of the teacher as an individual status, the representation of the teacher as the status of the teaching force, the representation of the teacher as an educator in the community, the representation of the psychological condition of the teacher, and the representation of the teacher's personality in the novel Guru Aini by Andrea Hirata.

Abstract

applying a contextual learning strategy of redefinition in Indonesian. This was an action research study involving the students of Class VIII E of SMP Negeri I Seyegan, Sleman, Yogyakarta. The data were collected through observations, interviews, documents, and a vocabulary test. The research instruments included an interview guide, a checklist, and observation guide, and a vocabulary test. The data werequalitatively described. The results showed that the contextual redefinition strategy managed to improve the vocabulary mastery and learning activities. The students’ vocabulary mastery improved after each action cycle. The learning activities included raising questions, examining the correspondence between questions andlearning materials, using dictionaries to verify word meanings, having discussions,and constructing sentences to express contextual meanings.

Abstract

Pendidikan karakter jujur terintegrasi ke dalam tema-tema pelajaran dengan  metode bercerita  penting dilakukan sebagai upaya mendidik siswa agar menjadi orang yang jujur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan praktik pendidikan karakter jujur melalui metode bercerita bagi siswa kelas 4 pada tujuh sekolah dasar di Yogyakarta. Buku panduan untuk guru dan buku cerita telah dikembangkan pada penelitian sebelumnya dan telah dinyatakan valid serta  layak digunakan, menurut para ahli maupun guru.Metode penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakan model interaktif dari Miles, Huberman dan Saldana (2014).Teknik  pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, dan diskusi grup terfokus, didukung dengan penggunaan skala Likert untuk mengukur sikap siswa terhadap kejujuran. Teknik analisis data dilakukan secara interaktif meliputi kondensasi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Keabsahan data dilakukan dengan triangulasi sumber dan teknik. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan praktik pendidikan karakter jujur melalui metode bercerita untuk siswa kelas IV sekolah dasar telah berhasil dilaksanakan dengan baik. Guru telah dapat melaksanakan pembelajaran sesuai buku panduan dan siswa telah memahami arti penting kejujuran dalam berbicara dan bertindak. Siswa menyatakan sikap setuju terhadap pernyataan dan tindakan yang jujur. Oleh karena itu, pendidikan karakter jujur melalui metode bercerita dapat digunakan secara luas sebagai upaya menanamkan nilai kejujuran dalam diri siswa sekolah dasar.  Kata kunci:  nilai, karakter, jujur, dan metode bercerita

Abstract

The use of technology is an important part of the learning process. Teachers are required to be able to utilize technology optimally and effectively. This demand has been strengthened since the covid-19 pandemic, which requires education to be able to adapt and accelerate quickly. Innovative activities that can be carried out are in developing teaching materials, one of which is hybrid modules. This activity is focused on giving training for middle and high school teachers on the use of barcode, fliphtml5 and flipbook applications, which can support teachers in converting conventional modules into digital or hybrid modules. A total of 90 participants took part in training activities 2 days through an online training by zoom meeting platform for the provision of materials and tutorials; guidance and assistance in making application products through WhatsApp groups consultations; and online meeting forums by zoom meetings for product presentations and reviews. This activity produced 55 digital modules. Participants' responses through the questionnaire stated that they were very satisfied and expected the training to be re-conducted for other teaching and learning innovations.

Abstract

Pembelajaran membaca bagi mahasiswa calon guru Bahasa Indonesia merupakan hal penting yang wajib dikuasai. Mengingat mahasiswa calon guru Bahasa Indonesia sebagai penentu keberhasilan literasi siswa di sekolah. Selaras dengan hal tersebut. Pembelajaran membaca khususnya membaca kritis di lingkungan mahasiswa harus didukung dengan berbagai macam hal baik dari model, strategi dan juga bahan ajar. Berkaitan dengan hal tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kebutuhan produk yang berupa buku elektronik dalam mata kuliah membaca khususnya membaca kritis bagi mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia. Penelitian ini termasuk ke dalam jenis penelitian pengembangan (RD). Model yang digunakan adalah model Brog and Gall. Dalam penelitian ini akan diuraikan mengenai hasil analisis kebutuhan yang merupakan studi pendahuluan sebagai landasan dalam mengembangkan produk. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Metode tersebut digunakan untuk mendeskripsikan hasil penelitian yang berupa; (1) observasi; (2) analisis dokumen berupa RPS; (3) wawancara kepada dosen dan mahasiswa serta; (4) telaah analisis kebutuhan. Secara keseluruhan hasil penelitian menujukkan bahwa dosen dan mahasiswa sangat membutuhkan buku ajar elektronik dalam mata kuliah membaca khususnya membaca kritis, hal itu didasari dengan pernyataan yang menyatakan bahwa saat ini buku ajar membaca sudah sangat banyak, namun buku ajar membaca khususnya membaca kritis berbentuk elektronik yang digunakan sebagai referensi pokok perkuliahan masih sulit ditemukan.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has hit various parts of the world. Indonesia is one of the countries affected by COVID-19. A number of schools have been in Indonesia since COVID-19 implementing distance learning in the learning process. The purpose of writing this journal is to analyze the learning process carried out in elementary schools during the COVID-19 pandemic. This type of article is written using qualitative research using literature studies. Studies literature done in writing the article This covers analysis and also a review of related books, articles, journals, or other relevant sources that are continuous with the title. Elementary on the exposure of this journal it was concluded that in the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is possible for the community to do activities usually, on moment pandemic of course there are restrictions in activities and activities can done in a manner online, and learning. At a number of school points, online learning has been implemented. On subjects Language English in level School Base can in implemented with utilize media learning to support learning activities. By using learning media, learning English will be more effective, and efficient.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis faktor penyebab alih kode yang terdapat dalam interaksi dan komunikasi keluarga amalgamasi DP. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif analisis konten dan dengan metode pengumpulan data simak, teknik yang digunakan untuk mendapatkan data   dilakukan dengan teknik catat. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis dengan analisis data kualitatif model Miles dan Hubermas dengan langkah 1) seleksi data,2) reduksi data, 3) display data,4) analisis data, serta 5) penyimpulan. Instrumen penelitian adalah peneliti yang bertindak sebagai pengumpul data, penganalis data. Instumen pembantu yang adalah kartu data hasil simak catat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa yang menjadi penyebab terjadinya alih kode dalam komunikasi keluarga DP ada enam yakni 1) klarifikasi keadaaan,2) kebutuhan atau keadaan pribadi,3) perubahan topik pembicaraan,4) mitra penutur yang menggunakan kode yang berbeda, 5) penjelas atau penegasan,6) mengefektifkan maksud pembicaraan.    This research aims to comprehensively describe and analyse the factors that cause code-switching in the interaction and communication of DP amalgamation families. The type of research used is qualitative content analysis research and using the observational data collection method, the technique used to obtain data is using note-taking techniques. The collected data was analysed using the Miles and Hubermas model of qualitative data analysis with steps 1) data selection, 2) data reduction, 3) data display, 4) data analysis, and 5) conclusion. The research instrument is the researcher, who acts as a data collector and data analyst. Auxiliary instruments are data cards, which are the results of note-taking. Research results There are five causes of code-switching, namely 1) clarification of circumstances, 2) personal needs or circumstances, 3) change in the topic of discussion, 4) speaker partners who use different codes, 5) explanation or confirmation, 6) make the purpose of the conversation more effective.

Abstract

The ability to read is a language skill that is very important in supporting general academic abilities. Based on research, most study programs at higher education institutions do not include critical reading as a subject. For this reason, this study aims to produce a construct model of critical reading competencies in non-literary texts which is used as a guideline for evaluating learning outcomes (LO) in critical reading classes. The ptesent study is developmental research with the stages of preliminary study activities, literature studies, field analysis, and competency product development. The data source for the study is analysis of data needs to build critical reading competences. Results of the study show that there are five steps of activities carried out in critical reading, namely: 1) surveying the text, 2) understanding the contents of the text, 3) analyzing the text, 4) criticizing the text, and 5) evaluating and publishing. Step (1) determines the type of text to be criticized, identifing the identity and background of the author. Step (2) determines the theme of the text, shows the characteristics of the text, and states the main ideas of each paragraph. Step (3) identifies the structure of the text, states facts and opinions, determines the pattern of paragraph development, identifies relationships between main ideas and explanations, restates implied meanings, and understands the relevances of the relationships among text structures. Step (4) shows the discrepancy between the theme and the content, the description in each part of the text, the ideas in the paragraphs, the details of facts, and the author's arguments. Step (5) assesses the accuracy and suitability of the facts. The final stage is publication of results showing strengths and weaknesses of the text.Keywords: construct model, critical reading, non-literary text

Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding is good nutrition to protect babies against infection and prevent malnutrition because it contains nutrients needed by the baby's body. Breastfeeding is related to the low level of knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding and there are still many mothers who do not understand the importance of colostrum. Mothers throw away colostrum or milk that comes out first because it is still considered excrement from breast milk, even though colostrum contains lots of nutrients and immune substances for the body. This type of research uses a cross sectional design. The population of this study were mothers who had babies > 6-12 months as many as 94 babies in the Buntu Batu Health Center, Buntu Batu District. The sample in this study were mothers who had babies >6-12 months as many as 94 babies at the Buntu Batu Health Center using total sampling, i.e. all populations were sampled. There is a relationship between attitudes towards exclusive breastfeeding in the Working Area of the UPT Puskesmas Buntu Batu, Enrekang Regency, with a 95% confidence level, a p-value = 0.003 is obtained, which means it is smaller than the α-value (P <0.05).
