Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the appropriateness and condition of educational facilities in compliance with Ministerial Regulation No. 24 of 2007, as well as the relationship between these facilities and the curriculum at Integrated Islamic Primary Schools (SDIT) in Bandung, West Java. In this study, nine full-day SDITs were reviewed using a qualitative methodology that included snowball sampling. According to the findings, although the majority of schools are able to meet the infrastructure standards, there are disparities in the conditions of the facilities, such as differences in classroom size, ventilation, and library resources, which show that there is a need for changes. Furthermore, the variety of curricular applications, which can range from national to international systems, has a considerable impact on the spatial organisation of school facilities as well as the functional criteria that must be met. It is necessary to have appropriate infrastructure assistance in order to facilitate the integration of various curricular aspects in order to cultivate an effective learning environment that is respectful of Islamic educational ideals. According to the findings of this study, improving facility standards and bringing them into closer alignment with the requirements of a wide variety of curricula can have a considerable positive impact on educational outcomes.

Abstract

Dormitories for girls at the secondary education level require facilities that are suitable for the needs of girls aged between 12 and 18 years. This research aims to determine the optimal spatial layout for girls' dormitories, based on the space requirements for both main activities and supporting activities, using a sample of five boarding schools in West Java. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method that commences with data collection through surveys, observations, and a review of relevant literature pertaining to dormitories. This research not only begins by analyzing the existing spaces but also delves into factors influencing the presence of these spaces, specifically examining the availability of dormitory, and supporting room facilities through the assessment of suitability using a survey checklist of various variables. The results indicate that different space optimization patterns were observed in the five boarding schools, which depended on the management concept of each dormitory. These patterns were adjusted to the existing conditions of the dormitory, considering the adaptation and utilization of available spaces. In general, all dormitories have met the standards and space optimization patterns according to the criteria set by each dormitory manager. Consequently, further research is warranted, particularly in relation to the management concept and the spatial arrangement based on the dormitory's brand identity.

Abstract

Abstract: Learning activities for school children during the Covid-19 pandemic were carried out using the Distance Learning method. Distance learning indirectly changes children's behavior both while studying and playing. The restriction of activities and play space for school children during Distance Learning method is a change that all children must face, including children living in housing. Pattern of Space and environmental settings, especially the residential environment, have a major influence on children's playing behavior. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method, which is to analyze through comparison of survey data and direct observation from two different residential environment settings. The result of the research is that different spatial patterns will affect children's play behavior patterns during distance learning, children's responses to spatial patterns, structure and character of environmental settings in play activities. The behavior and responses of different children become the design reference and produce basic data about the effect of pattern of greeting on children's playing behavior. Subsequent research on elements of the playroom in the New Normal. Penelitian selanjutnya mengenai elemen ruang bermain dimasa New Normal.

Abstract

Abstract: Implementation of the immersive experience concept in the design of the Merapi Volcano Museum in Yogyakarta to give visitors the experience of Mount Merapi to feel like they are in the real world. Because this immersive experience makes learning or providing information interesting and memorable for museum visitors. The phenomenon of museum fatigue is also one of the factors in the decline in the number of museum visitors in Indonesia, which was first put forward in 1916 by Benjamin Gilman who discussed the phenomenon of the decline in the number of museum visitors that occurred over several time periods. Problems based on the interior design components for the Merapi Volcano Museum are as follows: 1. Lack of interactive display facilities. The delivery of information is still difficult to understand because the delivery of collection information is presented in long text so that visitors rarely read the information. 2. Too much use of natural lighting in the exhibition causes visitors to be distracted from observing digital displays. Data collection for the design of the Merapi Volcano Museum used several stages, namely interviews, observation, references, perception and design. The findings from this immersive experience include the use of 3D dioramas, the use of audio in the form of eruptions from the Merapi volcano, the use of XR, VR, interactive layers and earthquake displays.
