Abstract

Customer churn represents one of the most critical challenges in the telecommunications industry, as the cost of acquiring new customers significantly outweighs the expense of retaining existing ones. High churn rates directly impact corporate revenue stability and market competitiveness, necessitating the development of precise predictive systems. This study presents a comprehensive comparative analysis of two prominent ensemble learning algorithms, Random Forest (RF) and Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost), to establish a robust predictive framework for identifying potential churners using a large-scale Telco subscriber dataset. To ensure the reliability and scientific validity of the comparison, the research methodology incorporates the Synthetic Minority Over-sampling Technique (SMOTE) to rigorously address the inherent class imbalance within the dataset, ensuring that the minority churn class is adequately represented during the training phase to avoid model bias. Furthermore, a systematic hyperparameter tuning process was executed via GridSearchCV, exploring multiple combinations of estimators, depth, and learning rates to identify the optimal configurations for both algorithms. The experimental results reveal that while both models are highly effective, Random Forest slightly outperformed XGBoost, achieving an overall accuracy of 77.54% and a balanced F1-score of 0.616, compared to XGBoost’s accuracy of 76.54% and F1-score of 0.605. Notably, although both models demonstrated an identical recall rate of 67.64%, Random Forest exhibited superior precision (56.47% vs. 54.76%), which is vital for minimizing false positives and ensuring cost-effective retention campaigns. Feature importance analysis, conducted through Gini impurity and gain metrics, further identified tenure, total charges, and month-to-month contract types as the primary drivers of customer attrition. This study concludes that an optimized Random Forest model provides a more stable and accurate framework for telecommunication providers to proactively mitigate customer turnover. The findings offer valuable business intelligence, allowing stakeholders to transition from reactive measures to proactive, data-driven loyalty programs that enhance long-term business sustainability.

Abstract

Limited facilities and low learning media infrastructure are two of the causes of the low quality of Indonesian education. This applies to children at TPQ Al-Ikhsan Dusun Boak Dalam, where learning methods still use books and whiteboards, which are relatively boring for children, and some material is still very difficult to understand. This disrupts the learning process. Then a solution is needed to answer this problem, namely by having an Android-based learning media application that includes Islamic law material for children. This study aims to develop an Android-based application that is specifically designed for learning media for Islamic law in early childhood at TPQ Al-Ikhsan Dusun Boak Dalam so that it makes it easier for children to understand learning material. The resultstugas of this study are in the form of an Android-based prototype of Islamic Shari'a learning media applications in early childhood that can help children understand learning material.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to design and implement the chatbot system "Universitas Teknologi Sumbawa Infomatrix", which by utilizing the capabilities of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) produces an interactive and efficient platform for students, facilitating access to comprehensive information about the university and helping makes it easier for students to get the right information to support their academic process on campus. Built web-based chatbot application, developed using the PHP programming language with the Laravel framework, integrated with a MySQL database, and utilizing Dialogflow cloud integration for machine and user conversation chat systems. This research methodology follows Angie Method and in system design, uses a structured design method that combines Context Diagrams, Data Flow Diagram (DFD), and Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD). The system testing uses a beta testing approach. With the presence of this Institutional Chatbot Application, it can make it easier for students to obtain UTS university data and information and become an effort to increase involvement at Sumbawa University of Technology through AI-based interactions.

Abstract

Harmony Fitness Center Sumbawa merupakan salah satu tempat fitness yang berdiri pada tahun 2019. Usaha ini bergerak di bidang olahraga untuk kesehatan dan kebugaran. Namun dalam melakukan pengelolaan data pada Harmony Fitness Center Sumbawa sendiri masih dilakukan secara manual yaitu dengan mencatat semua data menggunakan buku. Hal ini menjadikan pengelola fitness kesulitan dalam mengelola data yang setiap waktunya data tersebut selalu bertambah. Solusi dari permasalahan yang sedang terjadi adalah membangun sistem yang memudahkan pengelola dalam melakukan proses pengelolaan data yang ada. Maka dari itu tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah merancang dan membangun Manajemen Pengelolaan Data Pada Harmony Fitness Center Sumbawa Berbasis Web. Sistem ini dikembangkan menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dan dibangun menggunakan bahasa pemrogramman PHP dengan menggunakan MySql sebagai database. Metode yang digunakan dalam membangun aplikasi ini adalah menggunakan metode Prototype. Sistem atau aplikasi ini diharapkan dapat mempermudah dan mempercepat proses pengelolaan data pada Harmony Fitness Center Sumbawa.
