Abstract

Abstrak Transportasi (pergerakan) barang adalah perpindahan barang yang terjadi baik di dalam suatu zona maupun antar zona dalam satuan waktu tertentu. Analisis besarnya perpindahan dapat dilakukan dengan model bangkitan/tarikan antar zona yang merupakan salah satu tahapan dalam proses model empat tahap perencanaan transportasi. Besarnya pergerakan tersebut dapat direpresentasikan dengan Matriks Asal -Tujuan (MAT) ataupun dengan diagram garis keinginan (desire line). Dalam kajian ini diambil kasus transportasi barang di Provinsi Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam (NAD) dimana hampir 95% pergerakan barang dilakukan dengan moda darat (jalan raya), walaupun sebagian besar wilayah NAD berada pada daerah pesisir dimana pergerakan tersebut dapat dilakukan dengan moda laut, namun karena kurangnya prasarana dan sarana maka pergerakan lewat jalan raya tetap menjadi pilihan karena lebih efisien. Pergerakan barang melalui jalan darat di NAD mempunyai kendala geografis daerah akibat minimnya jaringan jalan antar zona. Beberapa ruas jalan telah dan sedang dalam peningkatan, diantaranya adalah ruas jalan Ladia Galaska, dan ruas Geumpang – Tutut. Dalam proses peningkatan kedua ruas jalan tersebut penuh dengan tantangan dan kecaman dari beberapa LSM terutama mengenai isu dampak lingkungan. Namun akibat gempa bumi dan badai tsunami, pola pergerakan berubah secara drastis, banyaknya jaringan jalan yang putus.  Ruas jalan yang tadinya ditentang kini menjadi tumpuan utama dalam distribusi logistik. Untuk itu pada tulisan ini dianalisis distribusi pergerakan barang antar zona sebelum tsunami, dan pasca tsunami, dengan menggunakan model gravity. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa terjadi penurunan pergerakan cukup signifikan antar zona pada beberapa zona pasca tsunami hingga masa rekonstruksi.Kata-kata kunci: Transportasi barang, Jalan Alternatif, Tsunami, Matrik Asal – Tujuan ,model gravity.

Abstract

Abstract Traveling decision was part of activity scheduling process which to be basis of activity demand modeling. In activity-based modeling, traveling was defined as movement with sequential process concentrating to through segments starting from home and back to home which more realistic than old model, trip based which used by four stages model. Using this approach model, the transport passenger modal split which was usually done by the people are analyzed in order to answer why recently the use of motorcycle was increased in number. The proportion of motorcycle which was increased  in composition of roadway traffic reflect to the condition of modal split which done by the people from the available mode.  Modal split was conditional decision on choosing decision in previous level, i.e. pattern of acitivity, time of the day, destintion and number of stop. The results of this study was expected to provide detail description of variables which were very influence to transportation modal split process.Keywords: mode choice, activity-based

Abstract

Abstract Increasing container flows and lack of land development for the container terminal, cause yard sub-functions are located in the port buffer area. This condition emerges additional transportation cost and causes traffic problems on the access road. This paper deals with simulation model construction which will be used to find optimum external yard configuration location in the port buffer area. Discrete Event Simulation Model will be used to simulate import container flow processes in the port container terminal. The Objective function of the external yard location model is to minimize user transport cost and to maximize operator benefit. Jakarta International Container Terminal data is used to construct the model. Model concept is run based on the scenario assumption of 3 TPS’s and 30 day simulation period. Based on three replicants and five times running, the optimum result is 3 TPSs simultaneously operation. The model needs detail elaboration in associated to model objective function and model optimization constraint. It is required detail validation, in term of service time value, distribution pattern and arrival rate in each unit server modelled in the next step of the research. Nevertheless, the model gives unique and relatively consistent result value of each trial. It is indicated that the method can be used to solve the research objective. Keywords: simulation model, import container, location model, external yard  Abstrak Peningkatan arus peti kemas dan keterbatasan lahan terminal peti kemas menyebabkan beberapa subfungsi yard ditempatkan di kawasan penyangga pelabuhan. Kondisi ini menyebabkan tambahan biaya transportasi dan permasalahan lalulintas pada jalan akses. Makalah ini berkaitan dengan pembentukan model simulasi yang akan digunakan untuk menentukan lokasi optimum beberapa external yard di kawasan penyangga pelabuhan. Model Discrete Event Simulation digunakan dalam simulasi alur proses peti kemas impor. Fungsi tujuan model adalah minimasi biaya transportasi pengguna dan maksimasi keuntungan operator. Data peti kemas Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT) digunakan untuk menyusun model. Konsep model dijalankan berdasarkan asumsi skenario tiga TPS dan 30 hari periode simulasi. Berdasarkan tiga replikasi dan lima percobaan running model, hasil optimum adalah pengoperasian tiga TPS bersamaan. Model perlu dielaborasi lebih lanjut terkait fungsi tujuan dan batasan model optimisasi. Diperlukan validasi rinci terhadap nilai waktu pelayanan, pola distibusi, dan tingkat kedatangan unit-unit pelayanan pada langkah selanjutnya dari penelitian. Walaupun demikian, model memberikan hasil yang unik dan relatif konsisten setiap percobaan. Abstract

More than 90% of freight movement in Indonesia is carried out by land transportation (mostly highway mode). Meanwhile most nation land is surrounded by water, in which the movement could have been carried out by sea transportation. There are rail network in Java Island and some parts of Sumatera Island where multimodal/inter-modality system can be applied. However, lack of sea and rail transportation infrastructure and management makes highway mode the main choice among other transportation modes. This study investigated the impact of overloading trucks in the freight transportation system in Indonesia, because the government still allows trucks to carry up to 50% of the normal maximum load. This policy has greatinfluence on road deterioration, creating the vehicle damage factor approximately 5 times higher than that of the normal one. This overloading has a big impact on the maintenance of the road and will increase themaintenance budget.

Abstract

Downtown area is the area that located in the central of a city with a relatively close distance to the location of the activity and existing facilities and it is served by public transportation service, so that the number of private vehicles uses can be reduced. However, those conditions are not found in the downtown area of Semarang, where the number of motorcycle uses is high. That phenomenon needs to be observed from household scale as the main actors of trips. This study aims to investigate motor cycle travel behavior of households living in the downtowns area of Semarang. Based on the results it is found that husband and wife have different travel behavior along with their role in the household. Husbands have more trips related to work activities while wives have more trips related to household activities. Moreover, household travel behavior is different during weekdays and weekend. Variable which has the most influence on travel behavior in weekdays is daily activity that is accompany family members, while variables which have the most influence on travel behavior in weekend are non-daily activities such as recreation and visiting relatives. Pusat kota adalah kawasan yang menempati lokasi sentral dengan jarak relatif dekat dengan lokasi aktivitas serta fasilitas yang ada dan dapat diakses dengan jaringan pelayanan angkutan umum sehingga angka penggunaan kendaraan pribadi, khususnya bagi penduduk yang tinggal di dalamnya, dapat dikurangi. Namun kondisi tersebut tidak terjadi di pusat Kota Semarang karena angka penggunaan sepeda motor di sini cenderung tinggi. Fenomena tersebut perlu dicermati pada skala paling kecil, yaitu rumah tangga sebagai pelaku utama pergerakan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah melakukan analisis perilaku perjalanan rumah tangga pengguna sepeda motor yang tinggal di kawasan pusat Kota Semarang. Berdasarkan hasil analisis diketahui bahwa pasangan suami dan istri memiliki perilaku perjalanan yang berbeda dalam melakukan aktivitas rumah tangga. Pergerakan suami lebih banyak dilakukan untuk kegiatan bekerja sedangkan istri lebih banyak berperan dalam aktivitas rumah tangga. Selain itu perilaku perjalanan rumah tangga pada hari kerja dan pada akhir pekan juga berbeda. Variabel yang paling mempengaruhi perilaku perjalanan pada hari kerja adalah aktivitas harian, yaitu mengantar anggota keluarga, sedangkan variable yang paling mempengaruhi pada akhir pekan adalah aktivitas non-harian, seperti rekreasi, jalan-jalan dan mengunjungi kerabat.

Abstract

Abstract The transportation production cost (TPC) considerably has strong influence to the national economic condition. This paper focused on the analysis of the transportation production cost sensitivity in relation to the variation of the external affecting factor, which are fuel price, rupiah exchange rate and Bank of Indonesia interest rate. Based on the R2 values, the TPC components in general have significant correlation, with the fuel prices. However, they do not have high correlation to the fluctuation of interest rate and rupiah exchange rate. The sensitivity analysis shows that a 10% rise on fuel price would cause 6%, 2%, 7%, 2.4%, and 4.9% rise on the TPC of intercity bus, ferry ship, interisland ship, train, and airline, respectively.Keywords: sensitivity analysis, transportation production cost, external affecting factor.

Abstract

The most common daily trip for students is the commute to and from campus. Though there are clear environmental, economic, and social drawback from using private vehicles for these trips, students still choose private vehicles to get to campus. This study reports an investigation of psychological factors influencing students’ behavior to commute by car from the perspective of the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). Students from three different university campuses (sample size of 312) completed a survey on their car commuting behavior. Results indicated that all relations postulated by the TPB are confirmed and perceived behavioral control was the strongest factor that influences students’ intention. Attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control explain 59% variance of the intention while intention explains 58% of the variance of the actual car use. Implications of these findings are that in order to alter the use of car, interventions should target the perceived behavioral control of commuting by car.

Abstract

More than 95% of freight movement in the Province of Aceh is done by the road mode. As most of the land in the province is surrounded by sea, the freight movement could have been done by sea transportation. Railway was already in the Province of Aceh long time ago, it began to operate in 1906, but the operation was closed in 1982. The Central Government and the Aceh Provincial Government want to revitalize the railway and there is also a plan to build a new Jalan Raya from Banda Aceh to North Sumatra border. However, there is a constraint in the costs of building these infrastructures so that multimodal and intermodal transportation can not take place. As a result, road transportation remains to be a major transport choice and this condition is even worse with vehicles on the road also tend to carry overload. This study was conducted in connection with the overload effect of the freight transport using trucks and how these trucks cause road deterioration and increase road maintenance costs in the Province of Aceh. The results suggest that multimodal/intermodal freight transportation, specifically road and railroad combined transport, could provide more efficient freight transport and, most likely, is the best option for the province.Keywords: freight transportation, multimodal/intermodal transportation, overload

Abstract

Abstract The most common daily trips for university students are the commuting trips to campus. Although there are clear environmental, economic, and social drawback from using private vehicles for these trips, students still choose private vehicles to get to campus. This study discusses the relationship between students car use habit with a variety of demographic, economic, and trip characteristics. This study is expected to provide benefits in the design of campus transportation policies to reduce trips to the campus by cars. The results indicate that there are relationship between the habit of using a car to campus with gender and the city of residence. In addition, there is a significant relationship between the students car use habit with campus, years of study, the distance from residence, residence status, car ownership, frequency of trips to the campus per day, car accessibility, and car usage behavior in the previous semester. Keywords: car usage, trips to campus, car ownership, frequency of trips  Abstrak Pola perjalanan yang rutin dilakukan oleh mahasiswa adalah dari tempat tinggal ke kampus dan sebaliknya. Meskipun dampak negatif penggunaan mobil untuk perjalanan ke kampus telah diketahui, namun mahasiswa tetap lebih memilih menggunakan mobil ke kampus. Studi ini membahas keterkaitan antara kebiasaan mahasiswa menggunakan mobil ke kampus dengan berbagai karakteristik demografi, ekonomi, dan perjalanan ke kampus. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan manfaat dalam perancangan kebijakan transportasi kampus untuk mengurangi perjalanan ke kampus dengan menggunakan mobil. Hasil penelitian ini mengindikasikan bahwa terdapat keterkaitan antara kebiasaan mahasiswa menggunakan mobil ke kampus dengan jenis kelamin dan kota tempat tinggal. Selain itu, terdapat keterkaitan yang signifikan antara kebiasaan mahasiswa menggunakan mobil ke kampus dengan kampus, tahun studi, jarak tempat tinggal, status tempat tinggal, kepemilikan mobil, frekuensi perjalanan ke kampus per hari, kemudahan akses terhadap mobil, dan perilaku penggunaan mobil pada semester sebelumnya. Kata-kata kunci: penggunaan mobil, perjalanan ke kampus, kepemilikan mobil, frekuensi perjalanan

Abstract

Abstract As archipelagic countries, seaport plays important roles in Indonesian economy. The performances of seaport significantly influence the economic growth as well as product competitiveness. Therefore, the efficiencies in seaport have received more and more attention. The traffic circulation of freight transport in the internal seaport are potentially affects the key performance of seaport. This study shows the relationship between traffic performance with the performance of seaport, which is reflected as the loading and unloading parameter. In which the improvement of traffic performance potentially increase in the loading and unloading performance. The microsimulation based approach is the applied, by taking into account the Seaport of Cigading as case study. Keywords: seaport internaltraffic, microsimulation, loading/unloading, bulk seaport  Abstrak Artikel ini berisi kajian terkait pengaruh perbaikan pengelolaan lalulintas terhadap kinerja pelabuhan. Kondisi geografis Indonesia yang terdiri atas berbagai pulau menempatkan pelabuhan sebagai salah satu infrastruktur utama transportasi Indonesia. Oleh karena itu, perbaikan kinerja pelabuhan memiliki arti penting terhadap sistem transportasi Indonesia secara umum, maupun terhadap aspek pertumbuhan ekonomi. Salah satu aspek dalam sistem kepelabuhan adalah aspek sirkulasi lalulintas internal. Studi ini menunjukkan bahwa perbaikan pengelolaan lalulintas internal memberikan dampak positif dalam peningkatan kinerja pelabuhan secara umum, yang terlihat dari potensi bongkar muat pelabuhan.
