Abstract

The research was intended to improve students’ learning motivation at study and learning course for fifth semester of Biology Education. Classroom Action Research has been conducted in two cycles with four phases from each cycle. Each cycle has been done based on lesson study consisting of plan, do, and see. The data were collected using a questionnaire of students’ motivation and motivation questionnaire of the observer which were measured through aspects of attention, relevance, confidance, and statisfaction.  Then data are analyzed in quantitative descriptive. The results showed that the feasibility of learning syntax on each cycle has a constant value of 100%. The average feasibility of lesson study in cycle I and II are 98.98% and 100%. The result of the average adherence to learning syntax in cycle I and II is 100%. Based on the result of the questionnaire filled by the observer shows an increase in motivation to learn between cycle I and II by 12.6%, while the average results of the students’ motivation questionnaire showed an increase of motivation to learn by 6%. The application of learning model using Quantum Learning and Think Talk Write can boost the students’ motivation to learn.

Abstract

The study has been carried out aiming to (1) describe the qualifications of teachers of biology majors IPA/at the level of junior high/high school in Bintuni straits. (2) describe the professional and pedagogic competence Biology teachers in junior/senior high school. (3) describe the problems and needs of teachers of Biology for developing junior/senior high school teachers komptensi in the bay of bintuni straits. this research is a descriptive exploratory study types. the subject of this research is the field of study teacher ipa/biology in junior high/high school education unit and the object of the research is the qualification, competence and field of study teacher needs Biology. data about the qualifications, the competence and the need for teachers to be analyzed in qualitative, descriptive, i.e. with make, average (procentated). The results showed that educational qualifications teachers of SCIENCE/biology as a whole on the junior level or high school reached 95.2% is a strata (S1) of 21 teachers response and 4.8% qualified diploma (D3). Alignment of academic qualification with majors in SCIENCE/biology taught at junior high school-education unit is 71% while not appropriate(mismatched) 29%. While the Biology teacher in high school or junior high school level master professional competence 44.5% and pedagogic competence competence which controlled 30,7%.Penelitan ini bertujuan untuk (1) mendeskripsikan kualifikasi guru bidang studi Biologi pada tingkat SMP/SMA di Kabupaten Teluk Bintuni; (2) mendeskripsikan kompetensi profesional dan pedagogik guru Biologi SMP/SMA; (3) mendeskripsikan permasalahan dan kebutuhan guru Biologi untuk mengembangkan komptensi guru SMP/SMA di Kabupaten Teluk Bintuni. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif eksploratif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah guru bidang studi Biologi pada satuan pendidikan SMP/SMA dan objek penelitian ini adalah kualifikasi, kompetensi serta kebutuhan guru bidang studi Biologi. Data tentang kualifikasi, kompetensi dan kebutuhan guru dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif, yakni dengan menjumlah dan merata-rata. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kualifikasi pendidikan guru Biologi secara keseluruhan pada tingkat SMP maupun SMA mencapai 95,2% adalah strata satu (S1) dari 21 guru yang terdata dan 4,8% berkualifikasi diploma (D3). Kesesuaian antara kualifikasi akademik dengan bidang studi Biologi yang diajarkan pada satuan pendidikan SMP-SMA sebesar 71% dan yang tidak sesuai sebesar 29%. Sementara itu, guru Biologi pada tingkat SMP maupun SMA yang menguasai kompetensi profesional 44,5% dan kompetensi pedagogik 30,7%.

Abstract

Gatra beach is one of the ecotourism beach in Malang that have tidal zones with stone predominant substrate. Rocky substrate is the most crowded area makroorganismenya. Arthropods and Echinoderms have an important role in terms of food sources and ecologically. Given the lack of reporting types of Arthropods and Echinoderms in tidal zones Gatra Beach, the inventory of research done in this area. The aim of this study is inventory Arthropoda and Echinodermata. Results of this research is, overall found 14 species, 13 genera and 11 families of the phylum Arthropoda and Echinodermata.Pantai Gatra merupakan salah satu ekowisata pantai di Kabupaten Malang yang memiliki zona pasang surut dengan substrat dominan batu. Substrat berbatu merupakan daerah yang paling padat makroorganismenya. Arthropoda dan Echinodermata mempunyai peranan penting dari segi sumber makanan maupun ekologi. Mengingat belum adanya pelaporan jenis Arthropoda dan Echinodermata di zona pasang surut Pantai Gatra, maka dilakukan penelitian inventarisasi di daerah ini. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah invetarisasi jenis Arthropoda dan Echinodermata. Hasil penelitian tentang inventarisasi jenis Arthropoda dan Echinodermata di zona pasang surut pantai Gatra Kabupaten Malang, secara keseluruhan ditemukan 14 jenis, 13 genus, dan 11 famili dari filum Arthropoda dan Echinodermata.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determined the effect of Think Talk Write combined Problem Based Learning model to students character and cognitive learning outcomes. The research is a quasi-experimental research with Nonequivalent Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The research sample is XI MIPA 2 class and XI MIPA 3 of SMAN 6 Malang. Data from character obtained from questionnaire student character. Data cognitive learning outcomes obtained from essay tests. This data analyzed using Anacova. The results showed that Think Talk Write combined Problem Based Learning model affect the students character and cognitive learning outcomes.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Think Talk Write (TTW) dipadu Problem Based Learning (PBL) terhadap karakter dan hasil belajar kognitif siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu dengan desain penelitian Pretest-Postest Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Sampel penelitian ini adalah kelas XI MIPA 2 dan XI MIPA 3 di SMAN 6 Malang. Data karakter diperoleh dari angket karakter siswa, sedangkan data hasil belajar kognitif siswa diperoleh dari tes essay. Data tersebut dianalisis mengunakan uji Anacova. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran TTW dipadu PBL berpengaruh terhadap karakter dan hasil belajar kognitif siswa.

Abstract

This development research aims to produce a product in the form a book of medicinal plants as a media  for counseling in Ngadas village community to increase knowledge society about local potential surrounding. The research method used is research and development, from ADDIE (2009). The development stages of the ADDIE model consist of  (1) Analize, (2) Design, (3) Develop, (4) Implementation, and (5) Evaluate. The results of the review of the material experts received an average score of 100% stating that smartbook of medicinal plants in content, presentation and language have been eligible to be used as a media counseling to increase knowledge of society Ngadas with very good criteria. The results of the review of media learning experts got an average score of 95.43% which indicates the category is very high so that the smartbooks of medicinal plants from the aspect of size and overall design worthy to be used as an extension media to increase knowledge Ngadas people. Small group test results got an average score of 95.5% indicating that the smart book of medicinal plants has a good qualification, attractive appearance, easy to understand and feasible to use.Penelitian pengembangan ini bertujuan menghasilkan produk berupa buku pintar tumbuhan obat sebagai media untuk penyuluhan di masyarakat desa Ngadas untuk menambah pengetahuan masyarakat terhadap potensi lokal sekitarnya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian pengembangan (research and development), dari ADDIE (2009). Tahapan pengembangan dari model ADDIE  terdiri atas (1) Analyze, (2) Design,  (3) Develop, (4) Implementation, (5) Evaluate. Hasil review dari ahli materi mendapat rata-rata skor 100% yang menyatakan bahwa buku pintar tumbuhan obat secara isi, penyajian dan bahasa telah layak digunakan sebagai media penyuluhan untuk menambah pengetahuan masyarakat Ngadas dengan kriteria sangat baik. Hasil review ahli media pembelajaran mendapat rata-rata skor 95.43% yang menunjukkan kategori sangat tinggi sehingga buku pintar tumbuhan obat dari aspek ukuran dan desain keseluruhan layak digunakan sebagai media penyuluhan untuk menambah pengetahuan masyarakat Ngadas. Hasil uji kelompok kecil mendapat rata-rata skor 95.5% menunjukkan bahwa buku pintar tumbuhan obat memiliki kualifikasi yang baik, tampilan yang menarik, mudah dipahami, dan layak digunakan.

Abstract

This research aimed at investigating: 1) the effect of Reading Questioning and Answering (RQA), Think Pair Share (TPS), and RQA combined with TPS learning on the students’ metacognitive skills and characters, 2) the effect of gender on students’ metacognitive skills, and 3) the effect of interaction between learning strategy and gender on students' metacognitive skills. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan ialah quasi eksperimen dengan Pretest-Postest Nonequivalent Control Group Design .The research design used was pretest posttest nonequivalent control group design. Populasi penelitian ialah seluruh siswa kelas X SMAN Malang.The population of this research was all students of grade X State Senior High School (SSHS) Malang. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas X-1 SMAN 8 Malang, kelas X-6 dan X-7 SMAN 5 Malang sebagai kelas eksperimen dan siswa kelas X-3 SMAN 8 Malang sebagai kelas kontrol.The samples of this research were students of class X-1 SSHS 8 Malang, classes X-6 and X-7 SSHS 5 Malang as the experimental groups and class X-3 SSHS 8 Malang as the control group. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hal-hal berikut: 1) Strategi pembelajaran Reading Questioning and Answering (RQA) dipadu Think Pair Share (TPS) berpotensi dalam memberdayakan keterampilan metakognitif siswa sebesar 17,72% lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan strategi pembelajaran konvensional dan tidak berbeda secara signifikan dengan strategi pembelajaran RQA dan TPS.Research results showed that RQA combined with TPS learning had the potential to empower students’ metacognitive skills 17.72% higher than that of conventional learning but it was not significantly different from RQA and TPS learning. 2) Pembelajaran Think Pair Share (TPS) berpotensi dalam memberdayakan karakter siswa sebesar 8,52% lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan strategi pembelajaran konvensional, 4,16% lebih tinggi dari strategi pembelajaran RQA dipadu TPS namun tidak berbeda signifikan dari strategi pembelajaran RQA.3) Kelompok siswa putri memperoleh rerata keterampilan metakognitif 7,12% lebih tinggi dari siswa putra.The metacognitive skills of the female students were 7.12% higher than that of the male students.4) Kelompok siswa putri memperoleh rerata karakter 4,32% lebih tinggi dari siswa putra. 3) Interaksi strategi pembelajaran dengan perbedaan jenis kelamin tidak berpengaruh terhadap keterampilan metakognitif dan karakter siswa SMAN di kota Malang.The interaction of the learning strategy and gender did not have significant effect on the metacognitive skills of students.Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji (1) pengaruh strategi pembelajaran Reading Questioning and Answering (RQA), Think Pair Share (TPS), dan strategi pembelajaran Reading Questioning and Answering (RQA) dipadu Think Pair Share (TPS) terhadap keterampilan metakognitif siswa, (2) pengaruh perbedaan jenis kelamin terhadap keterampilan metakognitif siswa, dan (3) pengaruh interaksi strategi dan perbedaan jenis kelamin terhadap keterampilan metakognitif siswa. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan ialah quasi eksperimen dengan Pretest-Postest Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Populasi penelitian ialah seluruh siswa kelas X SMAN Malang. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas X-1 SMAN 8 Malang, kelas X-6 dan X-7 SMAN 5 Malang sebagai kelas eksperimen dan siswa kelas X-3 SMAN 8 Malang sebagai kelas kontrol. Abstract

This study aims to implement of Problem Based Learning combined Think Pair Share in order to improve critical thinking and science process skills of students at XI IPA SMA. This research was classroom action research. The subjects were 28 students of classroom XI IPA 1 SMAN 1 Kasiman Bojonegoro 2016/2017. This research was conducted in two cycles. The research data consists of the learning realized by observation, the results of the critical thinking paper and pencil tests, and the science process skills by observation. Data were analyzed by descriptive qualitative technique. The results showed that the combined PBL and TPS learning model can improve the ability of critical thinking, and science process skills students of classroom XI IPA 1 SMAN 1 Kasiman Bojonegoro.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan Problem Based Learning dipadu Think Pair Share dalam rangka meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan keterampilan proses sains siswa kelas XI IPA SMA. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI IPA 1 SMAN 1 Kasiman Bojonegoro tahun pelajaran 2016/2017 dengan jumlah 28 siswa. Penelitian dilaksanakan selama dua siklus. Data penelitian terdiri atas hasil observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, hasil tes tulis kemampuan berpikir kritis, dan hasil observasi keterampilan proses sains. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran PBL dipadu TPS dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan keterampilan proses sains siswa kelas XI IPA 1 SMAN 1 Kasiman Bojonegoro.

Abstract

This study aims to develop learning media booklets and videos of clean and healthy life characters using the ADDIE model (1) analyze, (2) design, (3) development, (4) implementation, and (5) evaluation. The average percentage of booklet validation is 100% and the video is 96.89%. The result of validation by the media expert including the category is very valid. The result of the average practicality test booklet media is 98,90% and the video is 97,50% which is very valid category. The result of the large group test based on the paired T-test and the wilcoxon rank test showed the literate knowledge of the people in each kecamatan with p (0.00) <0.05, meaning that knowledge increased significantly, in the illiterate people in Kecamatan Bantur, p> 0.05 means knowledge Increased insignificantly, while in other sub-districts had a value of p <0.05 which means a significant increase.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran booklet dan video karakter hidup bersih dan sehat dengan menggunakan model ADDIE yaitu (1) analyze, (2) design, (3) development, (4) implementation, dan (5) evaluation. Persentase rata-rata validasi booklet sebesar 100% dan video sebesar 96,89%. Hasil validasi oleh ahli media termasuk kategori sangat valid. Hasil uji kepraktisan rata-rata media pembelajaran booklet sebesar 98,90% dan video sebesar 97,50% yang termasuk kategori sangat valid. Hasil uji kelompok besar berdasarkan hasil Uji-T berpasangan dan wilcoxon rank test menunjukkan pengetahuan masyarakat yang melek huruf pada setiap kecamatan dengan p (0.00) < 0.05, artinya pengetahuan meningkat secara signifikan, pada masyarakat buta huruf di Kecamatan Bantur diperoleh p > 0.05 artinya pengetahuan meningkat secara tidak signifikan, sedangkan pada kecamatan lain memiliki nilai p < 0.05 yang artinya mengalami peningkatan secara signifikan.

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to analyze the learning resources used during lectures at IKIP Budi Utomo Malang in the Human Physiology Anatomy course. This type of research is exploratory research. The population in this study were all Biology students of IKIP Budi Utomo, and the study sample was used by 40 students who have taken courses in human physiology anatomy. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews and questionnaires. Data obtained was analyzed descriptively qualitatively. The results showed that the main learning resources used in the form of textbooks and internet pages, the learning environment only occurs in the classroom due to limited laboratories, lack of facilities and infrastructure to support learning activities and practicum, as well as learning methods that less trigger students to be active such as presentation discussions, questions, and answers.Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis sumber belajar yang digunakan selama kegiatan perkuliahan di  IKIP Budi Utomo Malang pada matakuliah Anatomi Fisiologi Manusia. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksploratif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa Biologi IKIP Budi Utomo, dan sampel penelitian yang digunakan 40 mahasiswa yang telah menempuh matakuliah Anatomi Fisiologi Manusia. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan pengisian angket. Data yang diperoreh dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sumber belajar utama yang digunakan berupa buku teks dan laman internet. Lingkungan belajar hanya terjadi di dalam kelas karena terbatasnya laboratorium, kurangnya sarana sarana dan prasarana utuk menunjang kegiatan belajar dan praktikum, serta metode pembelajaran yang kurang memicu mahasiswa untuk bersifat aktif, seperti diskusi presentasi, tanya jawab, dan ceramah.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to examine the effect of guided inquiry on different academic abilities towards critical thinking. The study was conducted by quasi experimental research with pre test-post test non equivalent control group design. Research subject consists of two classes. Critical thinking were measured by validated test. The data was analyzed using t-test at α=5% significance level. The results of the study are (1) implementation of guided inquiry have significant effect towards critical thinking, (2) academic abilities have significant effect towards critical thinking, and (3) there is no interaction between guided inquiry and academic abilities towards critical thinking.Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh inkuiri terbimbing pada kemampuan akademik berbeda terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis. Penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimen semu dengan rancangan pre test-post test non equivalent control group design. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas. Keterampilan berpikir kritis diukur menggunakan instrumen tes berpikir kritis yang telah divalidasi. Data dianalisis dengan uji t pada taraf signifikansi α=5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) penerapan inkuiri terbimbing berpengaruh signifikan terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis, (2) kemampuan akademik berpengaruh signifikan terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis, dan (3) tidak ada pengaruh interaksi antara inkuiri terbimbing dan kemampuan akademik terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis.
