Abstract

This study aims to determine the effective concentration of rice bran oil which can protect against ultraviolet (UV) rays as well as formulate it in compact powder preparation followed by determination of its Sun Protecting Factor (SPF) value. Rice bran samples were extracted using the Soxhlet extraction method with n-hexane: ethanol (1:1) as the solvent. Further identification of the γ-oryzanol in rice bran oil was carried out using TLC silica gel GF254 with eluent of n-hexane:ethyl acetate (3:1). The obtained γ-oryzanol in rice bran oil was used as the ingredient to develop the compact powder which is made into five formulas with 0,05 %-0,25 % concentration. All formulas were characterized, including homogeneity, adhesion and crack test. UV-Visible spectrophotometry was used to determine the SPF value of rice bran oil and its compact powder. The identification results demonstrated a positive presence of the chemical γ-oryzanol in the rice bran oil. At concentrations of 500, 1000, 1500, 2000, and 2500 ppm, rice bran oil may protect against UV rays with SPF values ranging from 1.741 to 11.884. The result showed that all formulas dispersed homogeneously, performed well in terms of compactness, and had no breaks or cracks discovered. Meanwhile, the SPF values of all formulas are found to be 1.390 and 1.274. The results indicate that the SPF values are shallow and are included in the minimal SPF category (2-4) in protecting against UV rays.

Abstract

This study aimed to formulate and determine the sun protection factor (SPF) of sunscreen made from tomato lycopene microemulsion creams. Lycopene was used as the active ingredient with varying concentrations in each formula, namely F1 5%, F2 7.5%, and F3 9%. The preparation of each formula was evaluated by conducting the globule size, polydisperse index, organoleptic test, homogeneity test, pH test, spreadability test, viscosity test, and determination of SPF value. The average globule size was 119 nm which had a uniform size distribution. The physical characteristics test of the cream preparations showed the three had a bright yellow color and lacked odor. The pH test results were 3.2 ± 0.12, 5.54 ± 0.25, 6.48 ± 0.22 for F1, F2, F3, respectively. Viscosity test results were F1 40,893.33 cPs, F2 41,746.67 cPs, and F3 43,106.67 cPs. The values obtained from the dispersion test were F1 6.71±0.63, F2 5.58±0.15, and F3 4.81±0.11. Moreover, F3 with a concentration of 9% tomato lycopene microemulsion met the acceptance criteria for all of the physical properties including low viscosity to promote good spreadability, pH that does not irritate the skin, aesthetic appeal, small particle size, and non-odorous and an SPF value of 4.9. The obtained microemulsion-based sunscreen cream exhibited a good physical property of lycopene besides showing sufficient SPF value.

Abstract

The aim of the study : (1) Determining the impact of administrative sanctions on vehicle taxpayer compliance. (2) Determining the impact of income level on vehicle taxpayer compliance. (3) Determining the impact of E-Samsat system on vehicle taxpayer compliance. The number of samples used in this research was 72 respondents, which was calculated based on the Slovin formula, with the sample determination method being the appropriate sampling method. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire method and processing was carried out using SPSS Statistics 26.The results of the research that have been carried out state that : (1) Administrative sanctions have a positive effect on motor vehicle taxpayer compliance. (2) Income level does not have a positive effect on motor vehicle taxpayer compliance. (3) The introduction of the E-Samsat system have a positive effect on motor vehicle taxpayer compliance.

Abstract

Salah satu masalah kesehatan pada ibu hamil adalah KEK, yaitu suatu kondisi dimana ibu hamil mengalami kekurangan asupan gizi berlangsung cukup lama dengan berbagai gejala yang muncul. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah diketahuinya hubungan usia, jarak kehamilan, pendidikan dan frekuensi ANC secara simultan dengan kejadian kekurangan energi kronis (KEK) pada ibu hamil di Puskesmas Keramasan tahun 2023. Jenis penelitian ini penelitian observasional yang bersifat analitik dengan desain atau pendekatan cross sectional. Sampel dalam penelitian ini yaitu 70 ibu hamil yang berada di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Keramasan Tahun 2023. Jenis data menggunakan data sekunder, variabel dependen adalah kekurangan energi kronis (KEK) pada ibu hamil, variabel independen usia, jarak kehamilan, pendidikan dan frekuensi ANC. Hasil penelitian bivariat hubungan independen usia, jarak kehamilan, pendidikan dan frekuensi ANC dengan kekurangan energi kronis (KEK) pada ibu hamil berdasarkan uji statistik chi square usia p-value 0,034 < 0,05, jarak kehamilan p-value 0,028 < 0,05 dapat disimpulkan ada hubungan usia, jarak kehamilan, pendidikan dan frekuensi ANC dengan kekurangan energi kronis (KEK) pada ibu hamil di Puskesmas Keramasan Tahun 2023. Diharapkan pimpinan Puskesmas Keramasan meningkatkan informasi mengenai kekurangan energi kronis (KEK) pada ibu hamil dengan melibatkan tokoh masyarakat, tenaga kesehatan untuk memberikan penyuluhan dan konseling, serta menyebarkan brosur, baliho, dan iklan dimedia cetak dan elektronik sehingga masyarakat mengetahui pentingannya kekurangan energi kronis (KEK) pada ibu hamil.

Abstract

Cactus fruit (Opuntia elatior Mill) is a flowering plant of the Cartacae family, which grows in high and dry plateau known to contain betacyanin compound, which is a natural dye of red color. The aim of this research is to identify the physical and chemical characteristics of betacyanin extract of cactus fruit on lipstick ingredients. The examination of physical and chemical characteristics includes organoleptic testing, homogeneity, melting point, pH, lipstick smearing, lipstick hardness and betacyanin levels in the lipstick. Observations were made on the first day and the seventh day of storage. The test results show red lipstick ingredients with a distinctive aroma of the betacyanin extract and densely dispersed homogenous texture. Meanwhile, the melting point test showed lipsticks melt at the temperature of 70°C, with pH value of the first day is 5,86 and the seventh day that is 6,13, polishing evenly and obtained lipstick 90g lipstick hardness level. The result of betacyanin content on the first day is 0.195 mg / 100gram, and on the seventh day is 0.105 mg / 100gram. In conclusion, lipstick produce with betacyanin extract of cactus fruit has good physical stability in accordance with SNI 16-4769-1998 about the ingredients of lipstick (Indonesian National Standard).

Abstract

Latar belakang: Prevalensi obesitas telah meningkat di seluruh dunia dalam 50 tahun terakhir, dan mencapai tingkat pandemi. Banyak tumbuhan yang dikenal oleh masyarakat dan diketahui memiliki khasiat dalam menyembuhkan penyakit, diantaranya adalah buah Tin dan Zaitun. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat pengaruh ekstrak buah Tin dan minyak Zaitun terhadap berat badan tikus putih yang diinduksi diet tinggi lemak. Metode: Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan adalah penelitian true eksperimental dan desain penelitian pre-post test. Analisis statistik yang digunakan untuk melihat perbedaan pretest dan posttest pada semua kelompok adalah dengan menggunakan paired T-test dengan menggunakan SPSS. Hasil: Didapatkan perubahan berat badan yang signifikan pada kelompok perlakuan III (KP III) yang diberikan perlakuan kombinasi ekstrak buah Tin dan minyak Zaitun selama 14 hari dengan p-value < 0,001. Kesimpulan: Terdapat pengaruh pada pemberian ekstrak buah Tin (Ficus carica L.) dan minyak Zaitun (Olea europaea. L) terhadap berat badan tikus yang diinduksi Diet Tinggi Lemak.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui manajemen waktu dari dua subjek penelitian dalam menghafal Al Qur’an di PPTQ Griya Qur’an 7 Surakarta. Metode Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif, pada umumnya pendekatan deskriptif digunakan dalam menganalisis fenomenologi social, atau membuat pencandraan mengenai kejadian-kejadian atau situasi-situasi. Dalam manajmen waktu terdapat aspek-aspek sebagai berikut: 1) Penetapan Tujuan, 2) Mekanisme manajemen waktu, 3) Kontrol terhadap, 4) Evaluasi. Kesimpulannya bahwa subjek dalam penelitian ini dapat memanajemen waktu dengan baik.

Abstract

Anthocyanin is a class of antioxidants that are widely found in the skin of cocoa fruit (Theobroma cacao L.). Anthocyanin degradation occurs not only during the extraction process from plant tissues but also during the storage process. The microencapsulation process can protect the active substance from environmental influences or improve the stability of the preparation. This study aims to characterize anthocyanin microcapsules from cocoa (Theobroma cacao L.) fruit peel using a complex coacervation method, therefore, it can provide economic value added from this plant. Anthocyanin microencapsulation was formulated using a coating of gelatin: arabic gom with different concentrations of 1:1, 3:2, and 2:1. Microcapsule characterization was organoleptic and morphological test, particle size distribution, moisture content test, absorption efficiency, recovery test, antioxidant activity of the preparation, and FTIR analysis. The results showed that extract yield was 39.82%, optimum microcapsule characterization was obtained from 1: 1 concentration with 36.65% recovery test, 80.40% absorption efficiency, and antioxidant activity with IC50 of 20.52 ppm.

Abstract

Lycopene is a carotenoid group easily damaged due to the oxidation process (light, oxygen and temperature) and isomerization during storage. This damage can be minimized by microencapsulation processes. The objective of this study was to develop novel microencapsulation of lycopene extracts from tomato fruit by solvent evaporation method using ethyl cellulose as wall materials and to select the optimum formulation. Three microcapsule formulations were prepared containing the ratio of lycopene and ethyl cellulose (L:ES) of 1:1, 1:2 and 1:3. The morphology of the microcapsules was analysed by optical microscopy and scanning electronic microscopy. The encapsulation efficiency, particle size, recovery yield and moisture content were also examined. The result showed that all microcapsule formula were aggregated and irregular in shape with encapsulation efficiency of 6.13- 19.43%, moisture content of 1,63- 7,52%, recovery yield of 81-98,12% and particle size of 46,2-86µm.
