Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the extent of the influence of promotional strategies, product quality, and customer satisfaction on customer loyalty to Indosat Ooredoo card customers. The type of research used is explanatory research. The population is all Indosat Ooredoo card customers in Demak Regency. The technique of determining the sample is by purposive sampling. In this study, the number of samples used was 131 respondents. Data analysis was performed using multiple linear regression analysis techniques. Data collection techniques through online questionnaires using a Likert scale. Sources of data are primary data and secondary data. The results of this study based on partial testing in this study are each variable namely promotion strategy, product quality, and customer satisfaction has proven to have a positive and significant effect on customer loyalty. Based on the results of simultaneous testing, it is in a strong category because promotion strategies, product quality, and customer satisfaction are proven to have a positive and significant effect on customer loyalty.

Abstract

Komunikasi strategis merupakan salah satu konsentrasi yang berada di Ilmu Komunikasi UPS. Pengabdian kali ini adalah bentuk kolaborasi antara dosen dan mahasiswa komunikasi strategis semester 5. Adanya kegiatan ini merupakan pegaplikasian dari pembelajaran yang telah dipelajari dari mata kuliah Digital Marketing dan Integreated Marketing Communication. Implementasi pembelajaran yang menjadi upaya pengabdian masyarakat Kelurahan Mintaragen bertujuan untuk membantu masyarakat dalam mengembangkan usahanya. Masyarakat Kelurahan Mintaragen yang lokasinya berdekatan dengan kampus UPS ini banyak memiliki mata pencaharian sebagai wirausaha. Usaha yang tergolong UMKM ini cukup beragam, mulai dari kuliner, nelayan, usaha sembako, laundry dan lainnya. Namun usaha yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat Mintaragen masih menggunakan cara konvensional. Untuk itu dalam pengabdian ini kami membuat kegiatan seminar yang dapat membantu masyarakat dalam mengembangkan usahanya. Target yang dicapai dalam pengabdian ini (1) mahasiswa mengimplementasikan pembelajarannya melalui presentasi (2) mahasiswa mengimplementasikan pembelajarannya melalui bazar dan pameran produk (3) melatih masyarakat dalam komunikasi pemasaran online. Tahapan kegiatan yang dilakukan (1) persiapan (2) pendampingan mahasiswa (3)  seminar (4) presentasi mahasiswa ke masyarakat (5) bazar dan pameran produk. Kata Kunci : Digital Marketing, Integreated Marketing Communication, UMKM  Strategic communication is one of the concentrations in UPS Communication Studies. The service this time is a form of collaboration between lecturers and strategic communication students in semester 5. The existence of this activity is the application of the lessons that have been learned from Digital Marketing and Integrated Marketing Communication courses. Implementation of learning which is an effort of community service in Mintaragen Village aims to help the community in developing their business. The people of Mintaragen Village, which is located close to the UPS campus, have many livelihoods as entrepreneurs. Businesses that are classified as UMKM are quite diverse, ranging from culinary, fishing, basic food businesses, laundry and others. However, the efforts made by the Mintaragen community still use conventional methods. For this reason, in this service we make seminar activities that can help the community in developing their business. The targets achieved in this service are (1) students implement their learning through presentations (2) students implement their learning through bazaars and product exhibitions (3) train the public in online marketing communications. Abstract

Meningkatnya pemberitaan Kasus kejahatan pelecehan seksual di kampus menimbulkan rasa kekhawatiran kepada mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Pengaruh Terpaan Berita Pelecehan Seksual di Kampus Terhadap Tingkat Kecemasan Mahasiswa Program Studi Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Pancasakti Tegal. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori uses and effect. Jenis penelitian adalah kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswi Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Pancasakti Tegal angkatan 2018 sampai 2021 dengan sampel sebanyak 53 responden dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah angket dan teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif dan analisis regresi linier sederhana. Hasil penelitian dengan membandingkan t hitung dengan t tabel dengan tingkat sig. 5% mempunyai nilai 5,205 > 2,008 yang menunjukkan bahwa terpaan berita pelecehan seksual di kampus berpengaruh positif terhadap tingkat kecemasan mahasiswa dan dengan besaran pengaruh sebesar 34,7% sedangkan sisanya sebesar 65,3% dipengaruhi oleh variabel lain diluar penelitian.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis model komunikasi yang digunakan oleh dua pendakwah, yaitu Habib Husein Jafar dan Aab Elkarimi, dalam menyebarkan pesan-pesan dakwah melalui fenomena-fenomena dakwah di media sosial. Fokus penelitian ini adalah bagaimana kedua pendakwah ini menggunakan media sosial, khususnya Tiktok dan Instagram, untuk mengkomunikasikan pesan-pesan agama serta mengangkat isu-isu sosial dan politik yang relevan. Metode analisis dilakukan dengan mengamati konten-konten tiktok dari kedua pendakwah dan menganalisis pendekatan komunikasi yang mereka gunakan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendakwah Habib Husein Jafar mengadopsi gaya komunikasi yang modern dan sesuai dengan kalangan muda, dengan penampilan dan gaya berbicara yang berbeda dari citra umum "Habib". Ia memanfaatkan fenomena-fenomena sosial sehari-hari sebagai titik masuk untuk menyampaikan pesan-pesan agama Islam yang dapat diterima oleh kalangan anak muda. Di sisi lain, Aab Elkarimi sebagai konten kreator muda, mengadopsi pendekatan kritis dalam menyajikan analisis mendalam mengenai isu-isu sosial, politik, dan agama. Ia mengajak audiensnya untuk berpikir kritis tentang fenomena yang terjadi dan mengaitkannya dengan ajaran agama Islam. Keduanya berhasil mencapai target sasaran mereka, yaitu anak muda, dengan efek positif. Pesan-pesan yang mereka sampaikan membantu membangun pemahaman yang lebih mendalam tentang ajaran agama Islam, mengatasi stereotip negatif terhadap agama, dan mendorong pandangan yang lebih kritis terhadap isu-isu sosial dan politik. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan tentang bagaimana pendakwah dapat menggunakan media sosial sebagai sarana efektif untuk menyebarkan pesan-pesan agama dan menjembatani antara ajaran agama dengan realitas sosial dan politik yang dihadapi oleh audiens mereka di era digital saat ini.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to study two things: how gay people use the Hornet application in Tegal City and how this application impacts gay people. This research is a phenomenological study. Apart from that, the data collection method uses first observation, in-depth interviews with five main informants—gays—using the Hornet application, and collecting documents relevant to the research objectives. The research results show that several communication patterns are used in interacting with the hornet application: 1) communication patterns to seek friendship; 2) communication patterns to seek relationships; 3) communication patterns for seeking meetings; 4) communication patterns using special language or nonverbal language; 5) communication patterns that use stimuli; and 6) communication patterns that determine behavior when given stimuli. According to the five informants, the Hornet application is relevant for gay groups in terms of openness about their sexual orientation.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to determine the extent to which Instagram and TikTok affect the level of self-disclosure among Communication Science students at UPS Tegal. In this manner, the objective is to determine whether Instagram and TikTok are related. Following this, quantitative research was conducted utilizing techniques of purposive sampling. The Slovin formula is applied to 61 UPS Tegal Communication Science students using this method. In this study, Instagram and TikTok serve as the independent and dependent variables, respectively, with regard to self-disclosure. As a data collection instrument, Google Forms is utilized to administer the survey. Validity and reliability assessments are conducted in order to evaluate the instrument. In order to analyze the data, descriptive statistics, pre-requisite tests, and hypothesis testing were implemented. Self-disclosure is positively correlated with Instagram and TikTok, as indicated by the findings of the research data analysis (r = -0.451, greater than 0.176). In conclusion, as the functionality of Instagram and TikTok improves, so does the degree of candor among students.

Abstract

General elections are a crucial moment in the life of the nation and state. This moment is used by political figures to build positive perceptions through political advertising. Political advertising has the main function as a strategic communication tool in the democratic process. This research aims to uncover the meaning and communication strategies used in Prabowo Gibran's political advertisements during the 2024 Presidential Election. The focus of this research is to decipher the symbolic meaning and messages contained in political advertisements using Charles Sanders Pierce's semiotic theory as a basis for exploring the signs- signs that appear in these political advertisements. By referring to Charles Sanders Pierce's semiotic theory, this research tries to identify and analyze the signs that appear in the Prabowo Gibran couple's political advertisements, both visual and verbal. Charles Sanders Pierce's semiotic analysis carried out by outlining three important components, namely Sign, Object, Interpretant, shows that political advertisements have a distinctive communication style as part of their political communication strategy. Semiotic analysis also places this advertisement in the positive category, indicating that the message conveyed is able to create meaning that supports the positive image of the couple.

Abstract

The development of communication science and technology is advancing rapidly in the current era of globalization. Various innovations and technologies have been utilized to facilitate human activities through social media. Communication has become a vital necessity for all individuals, regardless of age, gender, occupation, or social status. Post the industrialization era, we are now entering the information age. This research aims to evaluate the influence of Instagram social media usage intensity on the creativity of students at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Pancasakti University, Tegal. The study adopts the New Media theory with a quantitative approach. The research population consists of students from the 2017 and 2018 cohorts, with a sample of 75 respondents selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data collection was conducted through questionnaires. The research findings indicate a positive relationship between Instagram social media usage intensity and student creativity, as evidenced by the calculation of t-test > t-table (12.265 > 1.999). The influence of social media usage intensity in this study is 67.3%, while the remaining 32.7% is influenced by other factors.

Abstract

English translation. Instagram is one of the social media in Indonesia that is very popular and widely used by people from various circles. Instagram users in Indonesia by gender are dominated by women, which is 52.6%. While in terms of age, the age group of 18-24 years is the largest user group of 32 million users. Instagram has various advantages in terms of features and appearance that make users feel comfortable and at home for a long time playing Instagram. As a photo and video-based social media, it allows Instagram users, especially women, to compare themselves with others who seem superior to them on Instagram. If this is done continuously, it allows Instagram users to experience mental health disorders such as loss of confidence. This study discusses the effect of the intensity of Instagram social media use on the level of self-confidence among FISIP students of Pancasakti Tegal University using quantitative methods. The research approach in this study is a quantitative approach with survey methods. The population in this study was all FISIP female students who used Instagram, while the number of research samples was 74 female students. Data acquisition is obtained through the distribution of questionnaires. Questionnaire questions refer to research indicators and uses and effect theory. The results obtained in this study are that the working hypothesis (H1) is accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected, because there is an influence of the intensity of Instagram social media use on the level of self-confidence among FISIP students of Pancasakti Tegal University. The resulting effect was 23.6% with a degree of relationship between moderately correlated variables.

Abstract

This study discusses the Tegalan song entitled Galawi by Imam Joend, through markers and markers to prove the representation of the people of Tegal Regency from the Galawi song. As a scalpel using Ferdinand de Sausure's semiotic theory, in this theory there is a sign is the song Galawi, signifier is song lyrics and signified is a social condition. In this study using descriptive qualitative research methods, by directly interviewing the main sources, namely songwriters and supported by cultural figures to find out the social conditions associated with the lyrics of the song Galawi. Based on the research conducted, it was found the song Galawi. The people of Tegal Regency are stated in the lyrics of the Galawi song, seen from regional identity, social interaction, livelihood, education as well as traditions and culture. The people of Tegal Regency have a fairly good personality, are polite, welcome and entertain guests from outside well and a peaceful and peaceful society. Many people in Tegal Regency still carry out ancestral cultural traditions as a form of gratitude to God Almighty.
