Abstract

This study aims to reveal (1) the effect of motivation on teacher performance (2) the effect of job satisfaction on teacher performance. This research was conducted at a public elementary school in Banda Aceh City. The study population was all teachers of public elementary schools in the city of Banda Aceh totaling 481 people. Determination of the sample using the Slovin formula, with a total sample of 218 people. Data were collected using a questionnaire filled out by respondents from teachers. The research analysis used descriptive analysis and inferential analysis with Path Analysis. The results showed that: 1) work motivation had a significant and significant effect on teacher performance and 2) job satisfaction had a significant and significant effect on teacher performance. The teacher performance model, the findings of this study explain that improving teacher performance can be done through work motivation and job satisfaction which will directly lead to better teacher performance.

Abstract

Pembelajaran matematika memerlukan strategi dan media belajar yang tepat yang salah satunya strategi peer lesson dengan media kartu agar hasil belajar matematika siswa menjadi optimal. Tujuan penelitian ini mendeskripsikan strategi peer lesson dengan media kartu yang dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar operasi aljabar. Rancangan penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas melalui empat tahap yaitu tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian sebanyak 32 siswa dari kelas VIII SMPN 1 Aceh Besar. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan lembar observasi dan tes hasil belajar. Analisis data menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada peningkatan aktivitas guru dan aktivitas siswa melalui strategi peer lesson dengan media kartu. Hasil belajar operasi aljabar meningkat dari siklus I ke siklus II sebesar 12% dan rerata tes akhir sebesar 93,75%. Disimpulkan bahwa strategi peer lesson dengan media kartu dapat meningkatkan aktivitas guru dan siswa serta hasil belajar operasi aljabar. Kata kunci: Hasil Belajar Matematika, Operasi Aljabar, Strategi Peer Lesson, Media Kartu Mathematics learning requires the right strategy and learning media, one of which is the peer lesson strategy with card media so that students' mathematics learning outcomes become optimal. The purpose of this study is to describe the peer lesson strategy with card media that can improve the learning outcomes of algebraic operations. The design of this study is classroom action research through four stages, namely the stages of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The subjects of the study were 32 students from class VIII of SMPN 1 Aceh Besar. The research instrument used observation sheets and test results. Data analysis using descriptive statistical analysis. The results showed that there was an increase in teacher activity and student activities through peer lesson strategies with card media. The learning outcomes of algebraic operations increased from cycle I to cycle II by 12% and the average final test was 93.75%. It was concluded that the peer lesson strategy with card media could increase the activity of teachers and students as well as the results of learning algebraic operations. Abstract

The study on the mathematical communication skills of the junior high school students studied were still not optimally reached that students' mathematical communication skills become optimal by being taught through the TTW type. The purpose of this study is to describe the level of mathematical communication skills taught through of TTW type cooperative learning model rather than expository learning model and describe students' response to TTW type of cooperative learning model. This research uses quasi experiments. The population is students of Abdya Junior High School grade VIII and the sample was cluster random sampling. Data collected and it also the instrument by test and questionnaire. Data analysis techniques used descriptive analysis and inferential. The results of the research showed that (1) the level of mathematical communication skills taught through of TTW type cooperative learning model rather than expository learning model and (2) the response of students after being taught through the TTW type of cooperative learning model was very positive.

Abstract

[Title: Gender Typical in Communicating Middle School Mathematical Problem Solving]. The emphasis of mathematics learning, especially students' communication skills, needs to be considered from gender equality in solving mathematical problems. This study aims to describe: 1) the potential Mathematical Communication Skills (MCS) of students based on gender; 2) gender equality in communicating mathematical problem solving, and 3) the suitability of the form of the model or the applied form to develop students' MCS based on gender at school. This research is descriptive qualitative research conducted on all junior high school students in Langsa with a purposive sampling technique of 283 students. The data were collected through MCS and questionnaire tests which were analyzed descriptively using the concept of Miles and Huberman. The results showed that: 1) MCS of female students were better than male students in solving mathematical problems; 2) MCS of male students are better in suburban schools and female students are better in downtown schools, and 3) learning implementation plans are still limited in emphasizing MCS and learning tends to be cooperative and individual. It is recommended that learning plans refer to developing MCS that pay attention to students' gender equality in order to optimize mathematical problem-solving.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika yang diajarkan melalui pembelajaran RME (Realistic Mathematics Education) dan pembelajaran konvensional. Metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan jenis penelitian eksperimen. Pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan simple random sampling dengan populasi penelitian seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 8 Banda Aceh, terdiri dari dua kelas VIII-3 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan VIII-4 sebagai kelas kontrol. Pengumpulan data menggunakan pre-test dan post-test. Hasil penelitian pengolahan data statistik uji-t pihak kanan, diperoleh bahwa thitung = 11,7 dan ttabel =1,68 maka terima H1 tolak H0 sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemahaman konsep siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan pendekatan RME lebih baik daripada pembelajaran konvensional.Kata kunci : RME, Kemampuan Pemahaman Konsep

Abstract

Students find mathematics boring to study because it is thought to be difficult for them to understand, particularly when it comes to arithmetic operations, symbols, and a variety of abstract formulas. The challenge in working with fractions is equal the denominator throughout addition and subtraction operations. This study's goal was to identify the types and causes of student difficulty in the content for fractional arithmetic operations. Descriptive research is used in this study. All class VII students make up the population, and there were a total of 17 participants sampled. a tool with an interview guide and written test. Six students were chosen for interviews based on the test results that have been examined. The results showed that the students' level of difficulty was 29.41 percent, moderate difficulty was 5.88 percent, high difficulty was 41.18 percent, and very high difficulty was 23.53 percent. The types of difficulties experienced by students in using concepts and principles ranged from 26.47 percent to 64.71 percent, and difficulties in using verbal were as high as 14.71 percent. It was determined that children were still having trouble grasping the idea of fractions.

Abstract

Representasi matematis merupakan salah satu proses kognisi yang membantu siswa dalam memahami konsep matematika yang abstrak. Kemampuan representasi matematis penting untuk dimiliki siswa karena kemampuan ini digunakan untuk memfasilitasi mereka dalam pembelajaran matematika dan berkomunikasi dengan orang lain tentang ide matematika yang mereka miliki, kemampuan tersebut dapat membantu membuat ide matematika mereka lebih konkrit. Namun pada kenyataannya, kemampuan representasi matematis siswa masih tergolong rendah.  Perlu suatu ti ndakan yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan representasi yaitu menerapkan model search, solve, create, and share. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbandingan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran search, solve, create, and share berbantuan lembar kerja peserta didik dengan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa yang diajarkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Penelitian ini menggunakan eksperimen desain pretest-posttest control group design. Populasi penelitian ini seluruh siswa kelas VII MTsS Azzanjabil. Pengambilan sampel secara random sampling. Sampel kelas VII-B sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VII-A sebagai kelas kontrol. Pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar tes kemampuan representasi matematika. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan berdasarkan uji-t, dapat disimpulkan bahwa siswa di kelas eksperimen memiliki kemampuan representasi matematis yang lebih baik daripada siswa yang di kelas kontrol. Hal tersebut terbukti dari hasil tes yang diberikan peneliti terhadap kedua kelas.

Abstract

Sebagai upaya dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan terkait soal cerita metematika, siswa dituntut harus memiliki kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi yang baik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita pada materi teorema Pythagoras. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Subjek penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMPN 2 Samalanga sebanyak 20 siswa, namun nantinya akan dipilih 3 siswa berdasarkan skor tes nilai tertinggi, sedang dan rendah. Sebagai upaya dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan terkait soal cerita metematika, siswa dituntut harus memiliki kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi yang baik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita pada materi teorema Pythagoras. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Subjek penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMPN 2 Samalanga sebanyak 20 siswa, namun nantinya akan dipilih 3 siswa berdasarkan skor tes nilai tertinggi, sedang dan rendah. Data yang digunakan adalah tes tertulis dan wawancara, data tersebut di analisis menggunakan triangulasi teknik. Hasil penelitian dari soal tes dan wawancara menunjukkan bahwa, 1) Siswa kategori tinggi dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita mampu memenuhi semua indikator berdasarkan teori Polya; 2) Siswa kategori sedang dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita hanya mampu memenuhi 4 indikator saja; dan 3) Siswa kategori rendah dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita hanya mampu memenuhi 2 indikator saja. Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah semakin tinggi tingkat berpikir siswa maka semakin bagus kemampuan menyelesaikan soal ceritanya. Penelitian ini didapat bahwa kebanyakan siswa masih berada pada kategori rendah. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan informasi sebagai dasar pertimbangan, pendukung, dan sumbangan pemikiran kepada pengambil keputusan dalam usaha meningkatkan kemampuan menyelesaikan soal cerita.

Abstract

Kemampuan spasial matematis merupakan satu di antara hal penting dalam pembelajaran matematika. Dengan kemampuan ini akan memudahkan siswa dalam proses belajar mengajar pada materi Geometri. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana kemampuan spasial matematis siswa pada sekolah Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 4 Aceh Besar ditinjau dari perbedaan gender dalam menyelesaikan masalah jarak antar unsur bangun ruang kubus pada dimensi tiga. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah 2 orang siswa bergender laki-laki dan 2 orang siswa bergender perempuan berdasarkan kemampuan spasial matematis. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes tulis kemampuan spasial dan melakukan wawancara kepada siswa. Teknik analisis data dengan mereduksi data penelitian, menyajikan data penelitian , dan membuat kesimpulan. Teknik pengecekan keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi sumber. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa bergender laki-laki dan siswa bergender perempuan, keduanya dapat melalui tahapan indikator spasial matematis dengan sangat baik. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan spasial matematis siswa bergender laki-laki maupun perempuan keduanya baik namun ada perbedaan diantara keduanya dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan dimensi tiga, siswa bergender perempuan lebih teliti dan lebih lengkap ketika menjawab persoalan serta membutuhkan waktu lebih lama dibandingkan siswa bergender laki-laki yang menyelesaikan soal secara praktis, singkat dan cepat.AbstractMathematical spatial ability is one of the important things in learning mathematics. This ability will make it easier for students in the learning process on Geometry material. This research aims to describe the mathematical spatial abilities of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 4 Aceh Besar students in terms of gender differences in solving distance problems between cube elements in the third dimension. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive research type. The research subjects were 2 male students and 2 female students based on mathematical spatial abilities. Data collection techniques were carried out by writing spatial ability tests and conducting interviews. Data analysis techniques by reducing data, presenting data, and making conclusions. The data validity checking technique uses source triangulation. The results of the research show that male and female students can both go through the stages of mathematical spatial indicators well. It can be concluded that the mathematical spatial abilities of male and female students are both good, but there are differences between the two in solving three-dimensional problems, female students are more thorough and more complete and take longer than male students who solve problems practically, briefly and fast.

Abstract

Numeracy literacy skills are crucial for students, yet data from PISA and TIMSS indicate that Indonesian students' proficiency in this area remains low. Numeracy literacy teaching materials are lacking, with most teachers still using conventional methods. Therefore, innovation is needed in developing teaching materials. This research aims to develop an electronic numeracy literacy module on linear function material for Grade VIII SMP that meets validity and practicality standards. The ADDIE method (Analysis, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate) is used for development, with Grade VIII students from SMPN 2 Banda Aceh as the research subjects. Data collection instruments include interviews, validation sheets, student response questionnaires, and teacher feedback. Data are then analyzed descriptively, in percentages, and qualitatively. The research results indicate that the developed product has passed the material validation stage with a result of 91.74%, indicating high material validity. Media validation also succeeded with a percentage of 90.48%, showing very high validity levels. The practicality test conducted with teachers yielded a result of 88.33%, indicating the practicality of the e-module in teaching. Meanwhile, the practicality test with students resulted in a score of 84.56%, indicating that this e-module is also practical for students. Overall, the e-module developed in this research has proven to be valid and practical for use in school learning.
