Abstract

This research aims to determine the pregnancy success of SimPO cows artificially inseminated (AI) with Simmental and Brahman frozen semen. The research was carried out using a survey method, namely in January–April 2023. The research material was 214 SimPO cows inseminated with Simmental and Brahman frozen semen, which was taken using purposive sampling based on complete data on IB implementers. The research parameters were the body condition score (BCS) of the SimPO cows and the intensity of cervical erection during AI and pregnancy. Data analysis was carried out descriptively using percentages, histograms, and polygon graphs. The results of the study showed that the cows who had a BCS of 7, 6, and 5 had mostly moderate quality (++) cervical erection scores of 47.22%, 42.42%, and 40.11%, respectively, while the cows who had a BCS of 4 and 3 were mostly of low quality (+) 53.33% and 53.13%, respectively. The pregnancy percentage of SimPO cows inseminated with Brahman frozen semen was highest at BCS 7 (50.00%), while Simmental frozen semen was at BCS 5 (31.86%). This research concludes that the pregnancy rate of SimPO cows inseminated with Brahman frozen semen is higher than Simmental frozen semen.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an assessment instrument to measure the reading and writing literacy levels of primary school students. The research method uses R&D with the 4D model but is limited to the define, design and develop (3D) levels. The research subjects were limited to one class in each school including SD IT Salsabila Klaseman Yogyakarta, SD Teladan Yogyakarta, SD N Timbulharjo Yogyakarta, SD IT Sunan Averoes Yogyakarta, and SD NU Sleman Yogyakarta. Data collection techniques through validation tests by expert judgment, namely language experts, educational evaluation experts, and experts in the field of basic education. The results showed that it was in the very feasible category based on the validation test with an average percentage of 95%. The results of the limited trial of the literacy diagnostic assessment instrument pointed to a very feasible category. By exceeding the specified standards, it indicates that the diagnostic assessment of students' literacy is considered qualified and very feasible to be used as a learning resource for elementary school students.

Abstract

The present study examined the quantitative and qualitative physical parameters of prolific local ewes in Bawen and Jambu districts, Central Java. We used purposive sampling to select and categorized 132 local, three-lambing ewes into three groups based on their prolific capacity: 66 single, 49 twins and 17 triplets. The data were subjected to analysis of variance using Chi-Square. The result showed that many quantitative properties of prolific ewes resembled those of fat-tailed sheep: thin tail, highly significant (P<0.01) compared to fat tails; straight face, highly significant (P<0.01); and fewer convex face and short body, significant (P<0.05) with a tall body in the non-prolific ewes. Few prolific ewes had big ears and black-white wool and significantly different (P<0.05) from the non-prolific ewes. Conclusively, local prolific ewes had a qualitative appearance more closely related to that of thin-tailed ewes, but greater quantitative performances than the non-prolific ewes.

Abstract

Pesantren, as an integral part of Indonesia's educational and cultural heritage, faced unprecedented challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic. These challenges included adapting their management and teaching methods to sustain their dual objectives: spiritual development and life skills-based education. This study examines the educational management strategies implemented by a girls' pesantren in Sleman, Yogyakarta, focusing on life skills education. Using a qualitative research design, data were collected through purposive sampling, participatory observation, and structured interviews with key stakeholders, including the pesantren's founder and educators. The study employs the ADDIE framework—planning, organizing, implementation, and control—to evaluate life skills-based educational management. The findings reveal that while the planning and organizing stages align with the institution's strategic goals, the implementation and supervision require improvement in terms of documentation and task formalization. Nevertheless, the application of practical learning and direct mentoring has effectively enhanced the students' independence and vocational competencies. This study contributes by providing a replicable life skills-based educational management model for similar pesantren and serves as a reference for policymakers in improving the quality of pesantren education in the future.

Abstract

Preliminary studies show that MI Afkaaruna Islamic School (AIS) already has a religious curriculum and character education for loving the country, but there are some students who have not explicitly practiced it. The aim of the study was to analyze structural-functional theory and categorize the role of schools in implementing the values of religious character and love for the motherland at MI Afkaaruna Islamic School. Research using descriptive qualitative method. The informants consisted of class I-VI teachers, religious teachers, school principals, religious teachers, and foundation boards. Data collection techniques using in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The validity of using the credibility test to test the Structural Functional theory of Talcott Parsons and to examine the role of schools in the implementation of students' religious character values and love for the homeland. Data analysis techniques in an interactive inductive way. Miles and Huberman's data analysis is divided into three paths, (1) data reduction; (2) data presentation; and (3) drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that the role of schools in implementing the values of religious character and love for the homeland of students includes managers, educators and evaluators. As managers, schools (teachers & principals) view all students' backgrounds as equal and provide financial assistance to students who are struggling economically. As educators, schools (teachers & principals) implement religious values through monotheism. As an evaluator, evaluating religious character & love for the country uses two ways, namely the principal and the teacher council to become participatory observers and verify the daily journal. The results and discussion of the research explicitly prove that apart from being an institution that has a structure, schools also have a functional role. The key to a school's success in carrying out the implementation of religious character values and love for the country lies in the latency indicator, which according to Talcott Parson is the process of internalizing and socializing values. Therefore, latency requires habituation and continuity.

Abstract

Data management and health administration reporting by the cadres of Posyandu Mawarsari 6 still rely on manual recording, which poses risks of data loss, information duplication, and delays in monthly reporting. This activity aims to improve the digital skills of 15 posyandu cadres in data management and administration through the use of digital technology. The method involved staged training on the use of Google Forms for participant registration, Google Drive for document storage and management, and Microsoft Excel for data processing and report creation. The activity was conducted in three phases: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The training results showed significant improvement, with 87% of cadres able to independently create digital forms, 80% able to manage cloud-based documents, and 90% able to compile digital health reports effectively. The implementation of this digital administration system proved to increase work efficiency, data accuracy, and reduce dependence on manual systems. This underscores the importance of digital literacy in supporting the transformation of community-based health services at the posyandu level.
