Abstract

A composite is a technical material that is made by combining two or more materials that have different properties to become a new material with different properties. Natural fibers used as composite reinforcement are more environmentally friendly and biodegradable. The use of natural fibers as composite reinforcement in recent years has experienced very rapid development. One of them is pineapple leaf fiber. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of fiber volume fraction and NaOH immersion on the mechanical properties (Tensile Strength and Impact Strength) of composites reinforced with pineapple leaf fibers with an epoxy matrix. In this research, woven composites were made with variations in volume fraction and NaOH immersion time for the fibers, then tensile tests according to ASTM D-3039 standards and impact tests according to ASTM D256 standards. Based on test results with varying fiber volume fractions of 15%, 20%, and 25%, the strength results increase and decrease. The tensile strength of the composite tends to increase with increasing fiber volume fraction and NaOH immersion. However, the longer the soaking time, namely 4 hours, the tensile strength of the composite tends to decrease. The most optimal average value of tensile strength is at a fiber volume fraction of 25% with fiber soaking for 2 hours with a value of 23.07 MPa and the lowest average value of tensile strength is at a fiber volume fraction of 15% with fiber soaking for 4 hours with value 11.31 MPa. Meanwhile, the highest average impact value was owned by a composite with a fiber volume fraction of 20% without soaking, namely 0.0589 j/mm2 and the lowest impact value was with a fiber volume fraction of 20% with fiber soaking for 4 hours, namely 0.0124 j/mm2.

Abstract

Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) can be described as localized corrosion that forms as a result of the penetration of water or moisture through an insulating material. The pipe material used is of the ASTM A53 standard and the fluid used in seawater because almost all industries are located on the coast. This type of coating is carried out on the test pipe using Meiji Epoxy Filler. The test method is carried out by flowing seawater fluid in pipes with water temperature variations of 30°C, 50°C, and 70°C. This pipe varies the type of insulation by using glasswool and Rockwool (ASTM G 189-07). This insulation is conditioned in a wet state by giving 2 ml of seawater drops with a pH value of 4 per 6 hours. The test equipment is divided into 3 series according to temperature variations with 4 test specimens and 2 coating variations respectively. The test time was carried out for 336 hours to obtain the corrosion rate results using the ASTM G31-72 weight loss method. The results showed that the type of Glasswool insulation with specimens coated had the lowest corrosion rate value of 0.00483 mmpy at a temperature of 30°C when compared to the same type of treatment on Rockwool insulation of 0.00724 mmpy or an increase of 2.41 times. This study shows that the type of insulation, temperature variation, and coating greatly affect the rate of corrosion and the type of corrosion that occurs is uniform corrosion.

Abstract

The hydroxy gas enrichment as an additive of biodiesel fuel for internal combustion engines affected the combustion characteristics. Hydroxy gas can be produced through water electrolysis to produce hydrogen and oxygen, significantly enhancing the combustion rate. This combined effect increased efficiency, reduced pollution, and improved air quality. This study aims to determine the impact of hydroxy enrichment generated from water electrolysis on engine performance with biodiesel-diesel fuel blends. The experimental work was conducted under diverse operating conditions and tested on a 418 cc single-cylinder engine. Experiments have been performed at a constant hydroxy gas flow rate of 500 mL/min and a constant speed of 2000 rpm under various torques. The result shows that B30 and B40 without hydroxy gas decreased diesel engine performance across various engine torque. The addition of hydroxy has been observed to positively impact the combustion reaction and increase the energy conversion efficiency of diesel engines. Compared to pure diesel fuel, the efficiency of B30 and B40 decreased by 9.26% and 11.59%, respectively. The enrichment of hydroxy gas increases the engine efficiency by an average increase of all torque to 7.95% for B30H (B30 with hydroxy) and 8.68% for B40H (B40 with hydroxy). Therefore, compared to pure diesel fuel, the efficiency slightly decreases by an average of 1.31% for B30H and 2.91% for B40H at all tested torques. This phenomenon indicates that the presence of hydroxy gas in a diesel engine increases the stability of the combustion process, which results in higher cylinder pressure with lower energy input.

Abstract

Al-Bahjah Islamic Boarding School in Cirebon has intensified promotional efforts to boost community participation in charitable giving, including donations and almsgiving, to support its land endowment (waqf) program and pesantren development through the MIZKA initiative, increasingly utilizing social media as a primary medium. This shift reflects a transition from conventional to digital da’wah models. This study examines the mechanisms of this transition, employing a qualitative approach informed by Anthony Giddens’ structuration theory to analyze interactions between social media and da’wah activities. Findings reveal that pesantren administrators, recognizing technological advancements, leverage social media to sustain da’wah’s core identity. They disseminate Qur’anic verses, hadith, and scholarly opinions to foster followers’ awareness and encourage contributions. The effectiveness of this approach is maintained through transparent social media posts showcasing construction progress and funds raised, establishing a new model of accountability. This indicates that tech-savvy preachers reconstruct social media not only as a tool for outreach but also as a platform for managerial transparency and responsibility.

Abstract

The Legal Politics of Decentralization in Aceh is inseparable from the historical view of the relationship between the central and regional governments, as well as the political dynamics aimed at reaching a middle ground of democratic consolidation, which ultimately centers around unresolved political sensitivities. This paper serves as a note on the consequences of the characteristics of planning (het plan/plannen) in Aceh Province from the perspective of decentralization. Using a normative juridical research method, several conclusions can be drawn.First, Indonesia’s decentralization system introduces the National Development Planning System (SPPN) as regulated in Law Number 25 of 2004, where the planning approach does not allow for a “disconnection” through “specialization.”Second, decentralization allows regions to adopt specific “values,” as in the case of Aceh, which implements Islamic law as a living legal system within its society throughout its history.Third, based on these conditions, the Long-Term Development Plan (RPJP) of the province, as regulated in Qanun Aceh Number 9 of 2012 concerning the 2012–2032 Aceh Long-Term Development Plan, experiences a “disconnection” and requires reharmonization efforts as reflected in the Qanun Aceh on the Aceh Long-Term Development Plan for 2025–2045. Keywords: Aceh; Decentralization; Planning; Plannen/Het-Plan.

Abstract

One of the techniques in improving the mechanical properties of a welding result is the Post Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT) process. Attempts to improve these properties are the main goal of users so that the construction they build can last a long time from the influence of natural phenomena. This research aims to analyze the mechanical properties of SMAW welded joints on ST37 plate material that undergoes the PWHT process, as well as contribute as a practicum teaching material or case study in learning welding techniques in the technical education environment. In this study, welding was carried out with E7016 electrodes, and then three variations of the PWHT process were carried out, namely at temperatures of 400, 500, and 600°C with a holding time of 30, 60, and 90 minutes, respectively. The joints were tested using a penetrant test and a hardness test. The results showed that PWHT at 600°C with a holding time of 90 minutes produced the highest average hardness value compared to 400°C and 500°C with 30 and 60 minutes. This finding reinforces the understanding that temperature and holding time in the PWHT process significantly affect the hardness value of the weld. Therefore, the results of this study are not only useful in the development of manufacturing technology but also utilized as an applicable learning medium. By knowing the effect of PWHT on the mechanical properties of welded joints, welding instructors can design a more effective practicum in teaching the principles of welding.
