Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether using the Direct Learning Model Through the Mathematical Game Method could exceed the KKM value determined by the school, namely 70. The population in this study was all students of class IX SMP Negeri 4 Suluun Tareran and the sample in this study was IX SMP Negeri 4 Suluun Tareran. The design of this research is One-Shoot Case Study. Data obtained from student learning outcomes test, namely the final test (posttest). After the data was obtained, a normality test was performed using the Liliefors test. From the test, it was obtained that and Because the posttest scores in class IX are normally distributed. Then, a hypothesis test was carried out using a t-test with a significance level of 0,05, the results obtained were dan , then so reject and accept which is the result of learning using direct learning models through the method of math games on the material. A number with a rank greater than the KKM value determined by the school is 70, with an average learning outcome of 77.52 which is greater than the KKM score.

Abstract

The study aims to analyze the mistakes of students in solving stories related to the material of congruence and construction in the 9th grade of the 3rd Tondano State High School. This research is a qualitative descriptive research with research subjects being 32 students and selected 6 students as samples of interviews. Data is collected through observations, written tests, and interviews. Data analysis is done through data summaries, data presentation, and interpretation. There are three types of errors observed, i.e. I misunderstood the problem, II mismade the mathematical model, III misled the algebraic operation. The results of the study showed that Type II error was the most common error, with 32 students making this error on issue 2. The error percentage reached 100%, suggesting that this error occurred in all students tested. Type III error, also occurred at a significant number, namely 27 students on issue 3, with a rate of error of 84%. The combination of Type II and III errors on issue 4, which combines both types of errors, shows that the majority of students (27 students percent 84%) make type II mistakes, while the number of students who make type III mistakes (26 students percent 81%) is also quite high. It suggests that the combination of both types of errors is still a challenge in understanding and applying mathematical concepts. The conclusion is that students have difficulties mainly in creating mathematical models (type II errors), performing algebraic operations (typ III errors) and a combination of both types of errors in solving mathematics issues. By knowing what kinds of common mistakes occur, teachers can focus on areas that require more attention to the problems that occur so that the learning process can be optimized and students are able to master the mathematical concepts.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the average mathematics learning outcomes of students of SMP Negeri 3 Tondano the circle material with the application of Discovery Learning. The research design was using post-test Control Group Design. The samples taken were students of grade VIII B as an experimental class and class VIII C as a control class at SMP Negeri 3 Tondano with a total of 28 and 26 students respectively. The results of the study in the post-test obtained an average experimental class of 79, 44 and the control class of 74.32. Based on the results of the statistical test of student learning results (t-test) obtained acalculated t value = 3.165 > ttable = 2.016. it can be concluded that student learning outcomes in circle material mathematics subjects taught using the discovery learning model are increased and better than the direct learning model

Abstract

The background of this research was found in students of SMP N II Tondano Class VII E who had learning difficulties in learning mathematics on one variable linear equation material through an online learning system. These problems make researchers interested in studying this research further. This study aims to determine the difficulties experienced by students in learning mathematics in PLSV material through an online learning system. This type of research is qualitative research. The data was obtained by giving a story problem description test and conducting student interviews. The research instrument was to provide the story and several interview questions for students online. The study results show that in learning mathematics in PLSV material through an online learning system, students experience difficulties memorizing equation formulas, and arithmetic operations, changing questions into mathematical forms, and difficulties understanding the material provided by the teacher. These problems are caused by 1) lack of interest and motivation in student learning, 2) not having a severe attitude in participating in online learning, 3) student concentration does not focus on learning material

Abstract

Abstract

This study seeks to characterize the categories of errors students make when solving SPLDV word problems using Newman's method. Descriptive qualitative research methods are employed. This study was conducted in class VIII A at SMP Negeri 4 Touluaan during the even semester of the academic year 2021-2022. The research participants were fifteen students. Then, a test comprised of SPLDV story questions was administered to collect data. The test results were then used to select 5 students at random for interviews, based on their distinct errors. The obtained data was analyzed using the following steps: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. Most of the class VIIIA students at SMP N 4 Touluaan made reading errors (4.44%), understanding errors (13.33%), transformation errors (26.66%), process skills errors (48.88%), and mnemonic skills errors (68.88%).

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to determine the difference in student learning outcomes using the Project Based Learning (PJBL) Model is higher than student learning outcomes using Direct Learning in mathematics learning curved side space building material. This type of research is Experimental Research using Posttes Only Control Group Design, this research was conducted at Rurukan Christian Junior High School. The subjects in this study were all students of class IX, where IX-A with 18 students as the experimental class and IX-B with 17 students as the control class, which were randomly selected. From the results of research and data analysis with a real level of 5% (0.05) shows the average value of the experimental class is 81.5 and the average control class is 74.23. Thus it can be seen that student learning outcomes using Project Based Learning (PJBL) are higher in learning mathematics curved side space building material
