Abstract

Face mist is a skin care product containing a liquid that can be sprayed on the facial skin. The preparation of face mist preparations is carried out starting from the extraction process, followed by the process of making face mist, and finally, the evaluation of the preparation. In making face mist, several testing conditions must be carried out, namely organoleptic test (including shape, color, and odor), spray dispersion test, viscosity test, skin irritation test, specific gravity, facial moisture, pH test, and dry time test. Some plants have been tested or formulated in the form of face mist preparations, namely aloe vera, cucumber, honey, yam, purple cabbage, and apple skin. This literature review aims to discuss various formulations and preparations of face mist from plant extracts.

Abstract

Hand and body lotion is a skin moisturizing cosmetic preparation that belongs to the emollient (softener) class and has several properties, namely as a source of moisture for the skin, making hands and body soft but not greasy and easy to apply on the skin. Currently, there are quite a lot of moisturizers on the market, but most of them contain several compounds that have the potential to cause interference with the barrier and skin structure. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out a comprehensive exploration effort in order to develop a moisturizer that is safer against the barrier and skin structure. Some natural ingredients that have the potential to be developed as skin moisturizers are papaya latex, yam, VCO (virgin coconut oil), and cocoa fat.

Abstract

Skin aging is characterized by wrinkling, dryness of the skin, discoloration, and loss of elasticity. In addition to genetic factors, environmental hazards such as UV radiation and oxidative stress contribute to skin aging. There is evidence to support that antioxidants can reduce the damage done by oxidative stress in the skin. However, criticism has been raised on the safety of synthetic antioxidants, so efforts have been made to explore various natural substances as powerful antioxidants. Currently, many plant extracts are used in cosmetics for the optimization of antioxidant effects. Bidara leaves (Ziziphus spina-christi l.), Bangkal trunk bark (Nauclea subdita (korth). steud.) and katuk leaves (Sauropus androgynus (l.) have the potential to be developed as skin care.

Abstract

Head louse (Pediculus humanus capitis) is a small parasite that feeds itself by sucking human blood, which causes infection of the scalp so that it becomes inflamed. The most common way to kill fleas is through the use of pharmaceutical insecticides. Some insecticide products contain permethrin, lindane, and DDT which are toxic to the body and are not easily biodegradable in the environment. Uncontrolled use of insecticides can make ticks resistant to these insecticides. Lemon, kirinyuh leaves, pandan wangi, Srikaya leaves, garlic, jarak pagar, citronella leaves, papaya, and lime have potential as anti-parasitic head lice.

Abstract

Hair coloring is the act of changing the hair color, which has been known since the times of Egypt, Ancient Greece, Ancient China, and India. At that time, the colors used that came from plants were called vegetable dyes or traditional dyes, where the coloring was done to change the original hair color or to cover gray hair and follow the existing trends. Natural dyes are not only used as medicine but can also be used as cosmetic dyes. One of the natural ingredients that can be used to make hair dye preparations is the skin of red dragon fruit (Hylocereus Polyrhizus). In general, dragon fruit skin is rarely used properly, even thrown away when finished) It's just that many people don't know how to use it, thus increasing the amount of waste from dragon fruit skin.

Abstract

Several tablets with certain active substances need to be made in a sustained release manner, usually in a single dose treatment, if they are not made sustainably or slow release it will reduce the administration of a single dose. Sustained release is the term to identify a drug-driven system designed to achieve a prolonged therapeutic effect by continuing to release the drug for an extended period of time after administration of a single drug dose. The purpose of this journal review is to see how the mechanism of oral drugs in tablet preparations can be made sustainable release. The method used is the application of inclusion and exclusion criteria. Several active substances from the class of analgesic drugs and their excipients have several methods with different concentrations. The influencing factors include the concentration of the active substance and the selection of excipients.
