Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model assisted by presentation media on physics material, namely parabolic motion in class X students at SMA Negeri 2 Tondano. The research method used in this study was a pre-experimental study with a One Group Pretest-Posttest design. The sample in this study was class XA students, totaling 27 students. Research data were collected using test instruments in the form of essay questions, project assessment observation sheets and attitude assessment using rubrics. Based on the results of data processing, it shows that the average posttest result of students is 85.30 which is classified as higher than the average student pretest result of 40.15. The results of the assessment of students' skills and attitudes during the learning process show results with an average score that is in the very good category. From the results of the N-Gain test, a gain score of 0.7579 was obtained, which showed that there was an increase in student learning outcomes in the moderate category with a percentage of 75.79% which was in the effective category. Based on these data, it can be concluded that the Project Based Learning model assisted by presentation media is effectively applied to parabolic motion material.

Abstract

Geothermal manifestation area around Tampusu Mountain is an area surrounded by highlands and lowlands. The existence of the highlands and lowlands allows the fault in the Geothermal Manifestation area around Mount Tampusu. The purpose of this study was to determine the presence of faults in the geothermal manifestation area around Tampusu Mountain based on the Gravity Method. From the results of the study, high bouguer anomaly values are located in the southeast of Tampusu Mountain, with a distribution value of 152.4 - 164.4 mGal (0,001524 – 0,001644 m/s2). Whereas for areas with low bouguer anomaly values are in the southwestern part of Mount Tampusu with values 126 - 136 mGal (0,00126 – 0,00136 m/s2). This anomaly variation is probably caused by differences in the density of rocks scattered in the Geothermal Manifestation Area around Tampusu Mountain. Through Bouger Anomaly Value Mapping, it is estimated that the fault in the Geothermal Manifestation area around Mount Tampusu is in the southeastern part of Mount Tampusu which leads to the Northeast, based on the drastic increase in the value of the bouguer anomaly. Fault that is in the Geothermal Manifestation area around Mount Tampusu is classified as a normal fault or fault down.

Abstract

Abstract

Thematic-Exploratory-Democratic Learning (TED-L) is an instructional strategy that encourages students to engage in high-level thinking through exploring objects around them and democratic interactions. The aim of this study is to investigate: 1) The outcomes of exploring the physics context-concepts from students' empirical experiences themed around water in TED learning, and 2) How students' democratic interactions contribute to exploring the physics context-concepts from empirical experiences in TED learning. This research employs interpretative qualitative research methodology and data analysis using Miles and Huberman's model. It is part of a collaborative research comprising 3 stages out of the 6 overall stages of TED Learning: 1) Building TED Attraction Literacy, 2) Object Exploration, 3) Exploring individual learning attitudes and democratic learning attitudes. The findings of this study are: 1) Examining empirical experiences leads to a process of high-level thinking formed as an attempt to solve problems. 2) Democratic interactions enhance students' creativity, increase analytical levels, and foster critical thinking among learners, as well as boost engagement in exchanging and adding new information related to physics concepts in exploring empirical experiences.

The method used in this research was quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The sample for this study was taken randomly with XI-H students as the experimental class with MOMBI treatment and XI-I students as the control class. Data was collected using essay tests and observation. The data obtained was then analyzed statistically. Based on the average results of the pretest and posttest for the control class, the average pretest value was 39.44 and the average posttest value was 56.67. A higher increase was obtained in the experimental class with an average pretest score of 41.67 and an average posttest score of 78.89. So it can be concluded that the Model of Model-Based Instruction can improve student’s learning results in Newton's Second Law at SMA Negeri 1 Amurang

Abstract

TED Learning Strategy (Thematic-Explorative-Democratic) about nature activity in tumimperas waterfall is an example of physics learning process by utilizing the surrounding nature as an object in learning. The purpose of this study was to determine the application of TED learning strategies in learning physics in nature to improve cognitive abilities. The method used in this research is Experimental research (True Experiment) with the design used Posttest-Only Control Design. This research was conducted through two stages. The first stage is to give treatment (treatment) the application of the TED learning strategy and the second stage is to give a posttest as an evaluation of learning. The samples in the study were students of Physics Education Study Program of Universitas Negeri Manado where the samples were taken randomly and divided into two classes. After obtaining the data, the research results were processed statistically with the help of IBM SPSS Statistics 22 for windows. Based on the results of statistical analysis, it shows that student learning outcomes come from a normally distributed population, are homogeneous and the results of the calculation of the t-test hypothesis reject H_0 and accept H_1. so it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between the physics learning outcomes of students taught by using the TED learning strategy with students taught by not using the TED learning strategy.
