Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan untuk membantu menanggulangi permasalahan anak tidak sekolah (ATS) di Kota Pasuruan melalui pendekatan berbasis komunitas. Program ini bertujuan meningkatkan kesadaran orang tua akan pentingnya pendidikan dan memberikan pendampingan bagi anak-anak agar kembali mengakses layanan pendidikan formal maupun nonformal. Metode yang digunakan adalah Participatory Action Approach, dengan melibatkan masyarakat, tokoh lokal, dan Dinas Pendidikan dalam setiap tahap kegiatan, mulai dari identifikasi masalah, perencanaan, pelaksanaan, hingga evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan partisipasi orang tua dalam mendukung pendidikan anak, terbentuknya Pusat Belajar Komunitas (PBK) sebagai wadah belajar anak tidak sekolah, serta bertambahnya anak yang kembali bersekolah. Melalui kolaborasi antara pemerintah, masyarakat, dan perguruan tinggi, kegiatan ini mampu mengubah kondisi ketidakberdayaan menjadi harapan baru bagi masa depan pendidikan anak di Kota Pasuruan.

Abstract

General background: Social Studies (IPS) learning on historical heritage often relies on lecture-based methods that limit student engagement and conceptual understanding. Specific background: At SMA Islam Sidoarjo, teaching Hindu–Buddhist heritage has not yet optimally utilized local sites such as Candi Tawangalun as contextual learning resources. Knowledge gap: Empirical evidence on the effectiveness of field trip (karyawisata) methods in improving senior high school students’ understanding of Hindu–Buddhist heritage remains limited. Aims: This study examines the influence of the field trip method to Candi Tawangalun on students’ understanding of Hindu–Buddhist heritage in grade X IPS. Results: Using a quasi-experimental pretest–posttest control group design (N = 100), the experimental classes showed significantly higher gains (N-Gain 0.57–0.58; moderate) than the control class (N-Gain 0.27; low), supported by strong observation and questionnaire scores. Novelty: The study integrates local temple heritage as a structured field-based IPS learning model at the SMA level, combining cognitive outcomes with students’ affective and motivational responses. Implications: Findings underscore the need for schools and teachers to institutionalize field trip–based, local-history learning to enhance understanding, engagement, and appreciation of cultural heritage in IPS instruction. Highlights: Shows that field trips to local temples significantly improve students’ understanding of Hindu–Buddhist heritage. Demonstrates higher learning gains in experimental classes compared to traditional lecture-based teaching. Highlights the importance of integrating local cultural sites into IPS learning to boost engagement and appreciation. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of teaching methods, learning media, and learning motivation on student learning achievement at SMA Negeri 1 Plemahan. The research method used is a quantitative approach with a correlational design. Data was collected through questionnaires given to students regarding their perceptions of the teaching methods and learning media used, as well as their level of motivation to learn. In addition, student learning achievement data is obtained from academic grades recorded in school documentation. The results of the analysis using multiple linear regression showed that teaching methods, learning media, and learning motivation had a significant influence on student learning achievement, with learning motivation as the most dominant variable. These findings provide insight into the importance of the right combination of teaching methods, the use of innovative learning media, and providing strong motivation to improve student learning achievement in secondary school.

Abstract

Pantai Balekambang merupakan destinasi wisata unggulan di pesisir selatan Kabupaten Malang yang perkembangannya sangat dipengaruhi oleh pola sosial dan partisipasi masyarakat lokal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pola sosial dan bentuk partisipasi warga dalam pengelolaan kawasan wisata Pantai Balekambang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi lapangan, wawancara mendalam terhadap 10 informan kunci (warga lokal, pengelola, dan wisatawan), serta dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan model Miles, Huberman, dan Saldaña dengan triangulasi sumber untuk memastikan keabsahan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pola sosial di Pantai Balekambang berjalan sangat baik, ditandai dengan koordinasi harmonis antara warga lokal, pengelola, dan pengunjung melalui mekanisme musyawarah dan gotong royong. Partisipasi warga mencakup kerja bakti kebersihan pantai, pengelolaan usaha ekonomi lokal, pelestarian budaya melalui upacara Besekah Laut, dan keterlibatan aktif dalam Kelompok Sadar Wisata (Pokdarwis) "Balekambang Bersatu". Faktor pendorong partisipasi meliputi manfaat ekonomi langsung dan dukungan pemerintah daerah, sementara kendala yang dihadapi berupa perbedaan pendapat antarwarga dan keterbatasan infrastruktur. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa sinergi antara masyarakat, pengelola, dan pemerintah menjadi kunci keberlanjutan pengelolaan wisata pesisir berbasis komunitas yang inklusif di Kabupaten Malang.

Abstract

Climate change is one of the global challenges affecting the quality of life of communities, especially in large cities. Air pollution, declining water quality, and the impact of increasingly intense natural disasters are issues that need to be addressed immediately. In this context, city leaders have a very important role to play in raising climate awareness among the community in order to realize environmentally friendly and sustainable cities. This paper aims to explore the role of leaders in creating climate awareness and strategies that can be applied to achieve sustainable cities. The method used in this paper is a literature review with a qualitative approach. The author collects and analyzes various sources on leadership theory, climate awareness, and case study examples from cities in Indonesia that have successfully increased climate awareness under strong leadership. The results of the discussion show that city leaders can play an important role through environmentally friendly policies, public campaigns, educational programs, and encouraging community participation. Successful leaders can create sustainable cities through renewable energy policies, clean transportation, and efficient waste management. However, political, social, and economic factors and community support are the main barriers to implementing these programs. Community climate awareness can be achieved by actively engaging the community, designing sustainable policies, and building collaboration between government and the private sector. Visionary and decisive leaders are needed to ensure the success of achieving green and sustainable cities.

Abstract

The development of digital image-based learning media for rock/soil geography learning is a tool for learning activities so that students can understand more easily, not watch, so that they are expected to be more innovative in packaging interesting subject matter with digital technology. The aims of this researcher are: (1) to create innovative learning media with digital imagery technology (2) to know the classification of various types of rock/soil with a system for detecting rock types using digital imagery, (3) to find out the level of feasibility of developing geography-based learning media Digital Image, (4) Knowing the effectiveness of using Digital Image geography learning media. The development model used in this research is Research and Development. To produce this learning media, the researcher developed it using the dhelpi programming language and in the contrast stretching process which can process data: save, update material, delete and load images in the form of images in BITMAP form so that they are stored in the testing data base. While the research subjects were lecturers and students of geography education at the University of PGRI Kanjuruhan Malang. The target of this research is to produce: 1) a learning model along with its curriculum that is able to adapt digital image processing; 2) increasing lecturer innovation in modifying learning media; 3) scientific articles. Lecturer competence will increase by creating media applications based on digital image processing, and at the same time changing the mindset of lecturers and students.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of differentiated instruction, parental involvement, and learning styles on the Social Studies learning skills of sixth-grade students at SD Negeri Mayangan 2 in Probolinggo City. The research employs a quantitative approach with a survey design, collecting data through questionnaires distributed to students, parents, and teachers. The sample consists of 73 students, selected using a saturated sampling technique. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis. The results indicate that differentiated instruction, parental involvement, and learning styles have a significant influence on students' Social Studies learning skills. Differentiated instruction supports students in developing critical thinking and creativity, while parental involvement enhances student motivation and discipline. Additionally, understanding students' learning styles enables teachers to adapt their teaching methods effectively. These findings emphasize the importance of collaboration among teachers, parents, and students in fostering an inclusive and adaptive learning environment. This approach not only enhances students' ability to comprehend Social Studies content but also has a positive impact on their academic performance. The study contributes to the development of teaching strategies that are more focused on addressing the individual needs of students.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of utilizing Google Sites on students’ self-regulated learning (SRL) abilities within Integrated Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) instruction, with learning motivation acting as a mediating variable. The research is grounded in the urgent need for educational transformation toward interactive, technology driven learning that cultivates learner autonomy in the context of 21st century education. Employing a quantitative descriptive approach through a case study design, the research involved 100 upper-grade students from SDN Jrebeng Kulon 1, Probolinggo City. Data were gathered using structured questionnaires and analyzed using path analysis to determine both direct and indirect effects among the studied variables. Findings reveal that the integration of Google Sites exerts a positive and statistically significant influence on students’ self-regulated learning, with an R Square value of 0.289, indicating that 28.9% of the variance in SRL is jointly explained by Google Sites usage and learning motivation. Moreover, learning motivation functions as a mediating factor that strengthens this relationship. These results align with Zimmerman’s (2023) Self Regulated Learning Theory and Deci & Ryan’s (2000) Self-Determination Theory, which emphasize autonomy, competence, and social relatedness. Theoretically, the study reinforces the pedagogical potential of digital technology integration in stimulating cognitive, affective, and metacognitive domains. Practically, it recommends that educators employ Google Sites not merely as a content delivery platform but as a transformative medium to cultivate adaptive, technology-based learner autonomy.

Abstract

Relawan kebencanaan memiliki peran penting dalam mitigasi bencana di Kota Malang yang memiliki tingkat risiko tinggi, sehingga efektivitas relawan menjadi faktor kunci keberhasilan penanganan darurat. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh motivasi dan pelatihan terhadap efektivitas relawan dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan metode explanatory survey pada 207 relawan, serta dianalisis menggunakan regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motivasi dan pelatihan berpengaruh signifikan baik secara parsial maupun simultan terhadap efektivitas relawan, dengan nilai R² sebesar 0,328, di mana pelatihan merupakan faktor paling dominan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan teknis, sementara motivasi memperkuat kesiapan psikologis. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa efektivitas mitigasi bencana ditentukan oleh sinergi antara kompetensi teknis dan faktor psikologis, serta memberikan kontribusi bagi pengembangan ilmu manajemen kebencanaan melalui dasar empiris dalam perancangan program pelatihan dan strategi peningkatan motivasi relawan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh belum optimalnya peran organisasi kepemudaan dalam memperkuat perekonomian lokal di wilayah perdesaan, khususnya akibat keterbatasan kapasitas kelembagaan dan lemahnya integrasi program pemberdayaan ekonomi. Meskipun organisasi pemuda kerap diposisikan sebagai agen perubahan, kajian yang secara mendalam menelaah peran organisasi kepemudaan berbasis desa dalam kerangka pembangunan ekonomi lokal yang berkelanjutan masih relatif terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan merumuskan model strategis pemberdayaan pemuda melalui Karang Taruna sebagai youth-led organization dalam meningkatkan perekonomian lokal di Desa Semarum. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif melalui studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi lapangan, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan model interaktif Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peran Karang Taruna dalam penguatan ekonomi lokal masih menghadapi hambatan struktural, meliputi lemahnya komunikasi organisasi, keterbatasan kapasitas kepemimpinan, rendahnya sinkronisasi program dengan pemerintah desa, serta pemanfaatan teknologi digital yang belum terintegrasi. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya penguatan kapasitas kelembagaan dan kolaborasi multipihak untuk membangun ekosistem ekonomi lokal yang inklusif dan berkelanjutan.
