Abstract

This article discusses the impact of mental health and academic stress on students' academic performance through a literature review. The objective of this study is to identify how mental well-being and stress levels affect learning effectiveness and academic achievement. The method employed is a literature analysis of various studies that explore the relationship between mental health, academic stress, and learning outcomes. The findings indicate that stable mental health contributes positively to increased focus, motivation, and comprehension of learning materials. Conversely, unmanaged stress can impair concentration, reduce interest in learning, and negatively affect academic results. However, in certain cases, academic stress (when experienced at optimal levels, or eustress) can serve as a motivating factor that enhances academic performance. Factors such as the learning environment, social support, and teaching methods also play a role in moderating the impact of mental conditions on student achievement. Therefore, it is essential for educational institutions to provide mental health intervention programs, counseling services, and adaptive learning approaches to help students manage stress and improve their academic performance.

Abstract

This article examines the impact of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) on elementary students’ learning outcomes in social studies through a literature review. The objective of this study is to identify how PjBL influences cognitive, affective, and psychomotor development, as well as creativity, motivation, collaboration, and communication skills. The method employed is a systematic analysis of 16 studies that investigate the implementation of PjBL in elementary classrooms. The findings indicate that PjBL enhances students’ understanding, retention, and application of material, promotes active engagement, and fosters 21st-century skills such as creativity and teamwork. The integration of interactive and visual learning media further strengthens learning effectiveness. However, challenges such as time constraints, large class sizes, and unequal group contributions may limit PjBL’s effectiveness if not properly addressed. Therefore, careful project planning, teacher guidance, and appropriate instructional media are essential to maximize PjBL’s benefits and support the holistic development of elementary students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of the role-playing learning model in improving students’ learning outcomes in primary school Social Studies through a literature review of 15 previous research articles. The review was conducted by examining various types of studies, including experiments, classroom action research, comparative studies, and descriptive research, to identify patterns of findings and factors influencing the effectiveness of role-playing. The results show that most studies reported improvements in students’ learning outcomes, learning activities, and conceptual understanding after the implementation of role-playing. This model has been proven to provide concrete learning experiences, increase student engagement, and foster communication and collaboration skills. However, some studies also found that improvements in learning outcomes were not always significant, especially when scenario planning, media support, and student readiness were not optimal. These variations indicate that the success of role-playing is strongly influenced by the context and quality of instructional implementation. Overall, this review confirms that role-playing has strong potential as an active learning strategy that can enhance Social Studies learning outcomes in primary schools. The findings are expected to serve as a reference for teachers in designing more effective applications of role-playing and as a foundation for future research on innovations in Social Studies learning.
