Abstract

Kurangnya keterlibatan siswa dan rendahnya hasil belajar biologi masih menjadi permasalahan pada siswa kelas XI-4 SMA Negeri 1 Baitussalam, Aceh Besar. Observasi awal mengindikasikan bahwa proses pembelajaran belum berjalan secara efektif, khususnya pada tahap penyajian masalah, sehingga siswa kurang aktif dan mengalami kesulitan memahami materi sistem pernapasan manusia. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis peningkatan hasil belajar setelah diterapkan model Problem Based Learning. Penelitian menggunakan metode pra-eksperimental dengan desain One-Group Pretest–Posttest. Sampel terdiri dari 25 siswa, dengan instrumen tes pilihan ganda sebanyak 30 soal yang sudah divalidasi dan diberikan sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Data dianalisis menggunakan perhitungan N-Gain dan uji-t paired sample. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan hasil belajar yang signifikan. Nilai rata-rata pre-test sebesar 46,80 meningkat menjadi 92,50 pada post-test. Nilai N-Gain sebesar 0,80 termasuk kategori tinggi. Uji-t menunjukkan t-hitung= 15,28 > t-tabel= 2,064 dengan signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran problem based learning dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas XI-4 pada materi sistem pernapasan manusia.

Abstract

Low student learning activity in class VII MTsN 2 Banda Aceh on the respiratory system material was marked by minimal student participation in asking questions, discussing, and expressing opinions during the learning process. This condition indicates the need to apply innovative and student-centered learning models and media. This study aims to improve student learning activities through the application of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by audio-visual media. This study uses a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design carried out in two cycles, each covering the stages of planning, implementation of actions, observation, and reflection. The research subjects consisted of 37 seventh-grade students at MTsN 2 Banda Aceh. Data were collected using a learning activity observation sheet covering six indicators, namely visual, oral, listening, writing, mental, and emotional activities. The results showed that the average student learning activity increased from 79% in cycle I, which was categorized as high, to 91% in cycle II, which was categorized as very high. The increase occurred consistently across all learning activity indicators. Thus, the application of the PBL model assisted by audio-visual media proved to be effective in increasing student learning activities in biology learning. Abstract

Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi potensi bentang alam Pulau Banyak sebagai sumber belajar biologi kontekstual pada materi ekosistem. Tujuannya adalah memetakan fitur alam lokal dan merancangnya ke dalam alur pembelajaran yang mendukung diferensiasi proses sesuai Kurikulum Merdeka. Menggunakan metode deskriptif eksploratif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi langsung di kawasan wisata bahari Pulau Banyak serta analisis dokumen kurikulum. Analisis data menggunakan teknik kualitatif, meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bentang alam Pulau Banyak memiliki karakteristik morfologi yang kaya, mencakup komponen abiotik seperti karakteristik substrat dan komponen biotik berupa formasi vegetasi mangrove serta pesisir. Fitur-fitur tersebut memiliki relevansi kuat dengan capaian pembelajaran biologi, khususnya pada sub-materi komponen biotik & abiotik, interaksi komponen ekosistem, aliran energi dan siklus materi, serta perubahan dan keseimbangan lingkungan. Berdasarkan temuan tersebut, disusun rancangan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi yang membagi aktivitas eksplorasi peserta didik ke dalam jalur pengamatan fisik, pemetaan spasial, dan analisis dampak lingkungan. Pemanfaatan laboratorium alam ini terbukti potensial dalam menciptakan pengalaman belajar yang inklusif, relevan, dan bermakna bagi peserta didik melalui interaksi langsung dengan fenomena alam nyata. Hasil temuan ini memberikan panduan praktis bagi guru dalam mengontekstualisasikan materi biologi sekaligus mengimplementasikan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi secara efektif di sekolah.

Abstract

Tourism expansion in environmentally sensitive coastal areas continues to intensify ecological pressures, while conventional environmental education often remains disconnected from indigenous socio-cultural realities. Although customary institutions have long contributed to environmental stewardship, limited research has transformed indigenous governance into a structured educational framework for sustainable tourism. This study aimed to develop and validate an Ethno-ecotourism-based Environmental Education Model that operationalizes Acehnese customary institutions as pedagogical mechanisms for sustainability education. Using a Research and Development (R&D) approach through the Four-D framework and a sequential explanatory mixed-method design, data were collected through interviews and observations involving 15 key informants, expert validation by seven specialists, and practicality testing with 30 tourism practitioners. Qualitative data were analyzed using the interactive model of Huberman and Saldaña, while quantitative data were examined using descriptive statistics. The findings indicated that the model was both valid and practical, with the social system emerging as its strongest component. The study demonstrated that indigenous governance could serve as an educational infrastructure that strengthened environmental responsibility, community-based conservation, and sustainable tourism. By integrating customary law into a validated pedagogical framework, this research contributes to the theory of environmental education and provides a culturally responsive pathway to sustainability in indigenous and coastal communities.
