Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dengan menggunakan model contextual teaching and learning dengan metode eksperimen pada materi Ekologi. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2023/2024 di MTs Ihyaul Ulum Dukun Gresik. Populasi dalam penelitian ini ialah semua siswa kelas VII sedangkan sampelnya yaitu kelas VII C dan VII D dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Metode yang digunakan ialah quasi experimental design dengan desain pretest posttest control group design. Analisis peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis dihitung dengan uji N-Gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelas eksperimen mengalami peningkatan skor N-Gain sebesar 0,74 dengan kategori tinggi dan pada kelas kontrol mengalami peningkatan skor N-Gain sebesar 0,27 dengan kategori rendah.Kata Kunci: berpikir kritis, contextual teaching and learning, eksperimen.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in environmental literacy after the implementation of the STM-assisted problem based learning model. At SMP Negeri 3 Burneh, Bangkalan Regency. This study uses the Problem Based Learning learning. The population of this study were all grade VII students in the 2023/2024 Academic Year. Sampling used a saturated sampling technique. The research sample was 28 students. Data were collected using environmental literacy questions, student response questionnaires, and learning implementation observation sheets. The results showed that: 1) the free sample T test obtained an α result of 0.003, namely there was a difference between the experimental and control groups in the posttest. 2) The N-Gain Score result in the experimental group was 0.3 with a moderate category

Abstract

This study aims to determine the feasibility, response, media readability, and students' understanding of Nature of Science. This type of research is a pure development with the ADDIE development model (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate). The research was conducted at Kanzul Ulum Junior High School grade VII with a total of 27 students for the 2023-2024 school year. The research instrument used a validation questionnaire of media experts, material experts, responses, readability, and Nature of Science comprehension tests. Based on the research, conclusions were obtained: (1) The results of material feasibility and media feasibility obtained a score of 1 with very valid criteria (2) The results of students' responses in individual trials 86.71%, small group trials 84.37% with very good criteria. Meanwhile, the large group test 77.83% with good criteria (3) The results of media readability in the individual trial 87.29%, the small group trial 85.88% with very good criteria.

Abstract

This research aims to conduct an ethnoscience study of the salt pond production process in Ragung Sampang Village as a support for Science subject learning material. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach. The research was carried out in Ragung Sampang Village using purposive sampling technique, which involves selecting informants, in this case, the salt farmers. Research instruments include interviews, observation sheets, and questionnaires. Data collection techniques encompass observation, interviews, documentation, and validation sheets. The findings are as follows: 1) There is a congruence between the ethnoscience study results of the salt production process and scientific principles. 2) The relationship between the results of the ethnoscience study of the salt production process and the scientific concepts found indicates alignment or correspondence with the Science learning concepts. During this study, a teaching module was produced as an outcome. The average validation scores from experts are as follows: Expert validation of content: 81%, Interview guide validation: 42%, Observation instrument validation: 60% and Media expert validation: 84%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of students' concept understanding after using the Bonggolan booklet. The material used in the booklet is the classification of living things. This study uses Research and Development (RD) type of research with the ADDIE development model. The population in this study is students of SMP Negeri 31 Gresik in the 2024/2025 academic year. The subjects of this study are students of class VII-C totaling 31 students. The research instrument used is a student concept understanding test sheet. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the improvement of students' concept understanding with an N-Gain score of 0.76 is categorized as high. Thus, the Bonggolan booklet on the classification of living things material can improve students' concept understanding. The conclusion of the study shows that the developed Bonggolan booklet is very valid to be used as a science learning material and can improve students' concept understanding.

Abstract

This study was conducted because of the low mastery of student concepts caused by the lack of variation in learning models and media. This study aims to determine the increase in student concept mastery after the TGT model assisted by snakes and ladders media is applied. This study is a quantitative study using One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. This study was conducted at UPTD SMP Negeri 3 Bangkalan with a sample of class VII D. The research data collection technique used a concept mastery test. The data analysis technique used was the N-Gain test. The results of the study that can be concluded are that there is an increase in student concept mastery as evidenced by the average N-Gain score of 0.47 which is categorized as moderate.

Abstract

This study was conducted because the critical thinking skills of students in education were relatively low because students were still unable to follow the learning pattern of critical thinking skills. The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in students’ critical thinking skills after the application of the PBL model assisted by PhET media on vibration and wave material. This study used a quasi-experimental design methodand was carried out at the UPTD SMPN 4 Bangkalan. The study population was all students of class VIII in the 2024/2025 Academic Year. Sampling used a purposive sampling technique. The sample used was class VIII-A. The analysis technique for increasing students’ critical thinking skills used the N-gain test. The results showed that there was an increase in students’ critical thinking skills after the application of the PBL model assisted by PhET media with an average N-gain result of 0,62 in the moderate category.

Abstract

Rendahnya keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa berada pada pencapaian oleh kegiatan pembelajaran yang masih didominasi oleh aktivitas guru dan penggunaan bahan terbuka belum optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa sebelum dan setelah diterapkan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) berbantuan e-modul. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMPN 1 Tragah. Populasi dalam penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMPN 1 Tragah dan penelitian sebanyak 25 siswa dengan teknik pengambilan sampel secara purposive sampling. Metode Penelitian adalah Pra-eksperimen dengan desain one grup pretest posttest design. Analisis peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa menggunakan uji N-Gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa mengalami peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis setelah diterapkan model PBL berbantuan e-module.
